Rec'd call from this number in 1600 time on Wed., 4/10. Not happy and want it blocked.

This number continues to call even when i have asked them not to. Wouldn't that qualify as harassment?

Well, but then again, if you ARE looking for a family law attorney and you happen to live in California, it is good to know that one can be easily found..... or, if you wanted to buy some electroonic cigarettes.... Really though, I know it is irritating. I looked this number up because I got a call too, but i didn't answer the call and was curious about who might be calling me.

It is generally sufficient simply to post the identity, address, and phone number, along with a brief summary of other information.  In the future it would be better not to spam the site by posting what amounts to an ad for the caller.

Please read the post I have just added near the beginning of this thread regarding the source of these calls.  If you are getting repeated calls, your best shot at getting an adddress is social engineering.

Just so you know, this number is provisioned by Ymax communications, i.e. MajicJack.  This means that when you get a call from this number it could be from any MajicJack user, and they can be located anywhere there is Internet access.

Personally, I would block this number, and any other MajicJack number I encountered.  I also would not purchase their cheezy product, and would discourage friends and family from using them as well.  One person's opinion.

Left a voicemail saying my warranty for my car is expiring and something about the account closing soon...I bought a used car years ago, I'm pretty sure my warranty expired already lol

Just got one at 7:14pm CST no voicemail.

There is a web address for a law firm in Walnut Grove, Ca that handles divorce & child support and stuff like that and comes back to this number but when you call it back its an ad for an electronic cigarette.

Recording saying my car insurance was expired and if I wanted to talk to a live person to press 5.  Call was to my cell phone - no company that I know has my cell and all of my insurances are auto pay so they are def. bogus telemarketers.

I'm guessing that, by this time tomorrow (It's now 7:08 pm. Central, 4/10/13), there will be four or more pages of people who got calls, but -- like me -- haven't a clue who called or why, and yet post and post and post, getting some gratification, but not providing any useful exlanation for these illegal (It was my cell phone which rang -- the one whose number is only known to be mine by about a dozen friends and relatives; therefore strictly prohibited with no ifs, ands, or buts.) calls.

Not a word about who called.

No inkling of why.

Just telling all of us that they, like the rest of us, were bothered.

Oh, and all kinds of silly "solutions" to the problem like ignoring or answering and playing music. Then, there will be the "authorities" who know who's calling and why and how to thwart them -- but don't cite their sources, or give us useful information. They'll say these calls are for the purpose of phishing or that they're coming from terrorists or some other off the wall thing.

But, those who have already posted tell us something useful. Similar "I have no clue." postings won't help those who follow, though.

What we know is that this is a new campaign, that it is very vigorous, that it ignores the law, and that some of us are going to have to answer the next time they call, in order to find out something definitive and useful, so we can post specifically helpful information here.

Here's how we KNOW these things:
>> Look at the time stamps; all recent.
>> Look at the number of postings; some annoying calls come from numbers which don't get that many in a week or month.
>> Hanging up when someone answers is prohibited; they're required to give specific information.
>> The called at least one cell phone -- mine.
>> They aren't going to give any kind of information unless we talk to them, which means we've gotta answer.

I've about had it with the junk calls.  One phase of modern technology I could do without.

They just called and I didn't answer. They left a message but it was all fuzzy. I wish I knew someone in the San Francisco Bay Area.
