i recieved a call about a month ago from a lady with a heavy indian accent telling me that i had to pay a certain amount or my account would go to a collection agency.  she confirmed the last 4 digits of my banking account number and kept asking me to confirm the rest of my account number, even after i told her i was unable to make the payment at that time.  she then told me i had to make the payment by 6/29 or it would go to collections (yeah, my account is past due) but when i recieved my statement it said my payment was due by 7/05.  since that call i've been recieving electronic messages from an restricted number (925-738-0219) reminding me to pay by the 29th.  i do most bill payments by phone or by the net but after this experience i'm sticking to the snail mail.

These calls come all during the day and up to 10 pm.  When I answer the phone no one is on the other end.  It seems to be one of those automated systems and it takes a few minutes for it to connect to a real person.  I don't wait to see if someone comes on the line, I just hang up.

I'm late on my payment, been getting 4 to 6 calls a day. Today they started leaving a message that my mail is being returned to them and that they need me to call them to give them an updated mailing address. Funny thing is, is that I received an updated bill two days ago. They are liars. They also, without warning, oh about 6 months ago, changed my limit from $1000 down to $600 without notifiying me. Needless to say, I went over by $10 that month and they charged me over the limit fees, etc. I hate Washington Mutual!

This phone number has been calling my place of business for over two weeks now. My employees were starting to feel harassed because everytime we would answer the phone and would give our greeting the they would hang up. These phone calls are happening multiple times a day everyday for over two weeks now and I'm fed up. We have never had an account with WAMU and don't have any intention of starting one. Make these calls stop!

ugh, those calls start here at 8am and go till 10pm  I thought they couldn't start before 9am???  925-738-0323 X2   0330   0272 x 2   0326 x3  0321   and 0325 and that's just todays calls!  That's 10 in 9.5 hours!  

They've been doing this for a week - I am 10 days late on my WAMU payment - hell, I had to pay an electric bill that was twice the norm because of the heat wave and figured I'd pay the WAMU bill two weeks late (next pay chack) and swallow the late fee as being short on my electric bill is not an option.  I've had this account - orig with providian for 8 years and these past week just sucks!  I answered once and then I was only about 4 days late - the guy was Indian sounding, called me by my first name and was very insistant that I pay.  He said give me your bank information and we will do it electronoically. . .i told him there wasn't enough in my bank (he wanted the 106.00 I owed and 106.00 for the next month as it would be due in 20 more days - I told him there was only 40.00 in my checking account and it would have to wait.  He said - no problem, give me the numbers for your account -  yeah right and have me in the hole to the bank for insufficient funds?  just so he can mark that he got a payment from me?  I told him to stop calling that they'd get their payment on Monday the 17th when I got paid and he said that he can't do that, that they will keep calling till I pay.  So I told him, you can't do that, if I ask you not to call, you have to stop and he laughed at me and said that is for telemarketers selling you a service.  He is collecting a bill on money I owe and when I pay the calls will stop.   What can be done to stop this?  While I plan on paying Monday and never using that card again, what will prevent them from making everyone else crazy?????   This can not be legal!

I get calls from 925-738-0248 all hours of the day and night. I never answered since it says out of area.  I was with Providian but Wamu bought them out. I was a good paying customer, never late on payments and they raised my limit over and over. I do owe Wamu money now. I called them when I lost my job recently and asked for help. Maybe they could lower my interest rate or cut my payments down (because I would have tried to pay a lower payment)until I got a new job, but they told me they couldn't help me and for me to call a consumer credit agency. Sorry, if they won't work with me, I won't work with them. They can call all they want, I tried to be up front with them and they just tossed me to the curb. Will never use them again. I would love to block their number but that cost $$$ I don't have. Thanks for letting me yell....

First off, Wa-Mu can be fined for every unauthorized/unsolicited phone call they make to you. Secondly, call them, if they don't remove you from their calling list, they are in violation of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations. They can be treated just like a telemarketing call. I just called them and they were very polite and supposedly removed me, so we will see.

The numbers they called me from were 817-524-0511, 0512, 0513, 0514, 0515. I got over 100 phone calls in an 18 day time period and I did turn them in to the FCC.

Like stated above...8 am til 10 pm. No message, over and over and over. Weekends do  not stop these people. If they were to leave a message, that would be one thing, but 50 times a week w/ no message is wrong.

i also have missed one payment and its a harasment what these people do! At all times of the day. at one time they called me before i woke up around 7 and on the weekends and there was also a time they called at 11 at night! i thought this was not legal to do! these people are unbelievable! and there are many numbers they call from 925-7380261; 925-7380254;925-738260;925-7380266;925-7380263;925-7380267;925-7380256;

i am glad to see I am not the only one. They start calling at 8 in the morning and do not stop until 9 at night.  They will call every five minutes and that is no joke!  I started taking my phone off the hook.  I received a letter in the mail with this web address.  Who is behind this then?  Oh, I have tried to pay my bill online like we do most bills, and they charge $14.00 plus some for even getting on the website.  No thank you!

They never sent a bill & just started calling telling me that I was late. The call in the maorning & late night all week long. I called them back & now there trying to charge late fees. after some aruing I'm suposed to be getting the fee taken off, but we'll see. I would not recomend WAMU to anyone. They are a sneeky & coniving company.

I received a call to my unlisted personal cell number from 925-738-0247 regarding an overdue WaMu credit card payment by a rude and condecending man with a thick Indian accent. He demanded to know the circumstances behind my lateness, then insisted on payment by check. Once the call was nearly over, he informed me that there would be a $9.95 processing fee(!) to pay by phone. I felt bad about being behind on payment, but there was little I could do about it since I lost my job and just started another.

A few hours later, I found my bill and noticed that I owed nearly HALF the amount quoted by the guy on the phone, and my due date was listed as two weeks away. I could have easily waited for a paycheck, paid by the new due date, and avoided the phone fee altogether. Then I started to worry that it was fraud and someone other than a WaMu rep had my bank account #. Fortunately, the payment did finally show up today.

I flat-out refuse to do any WaMu business by phone anymore.

Does anyone know how to stop this?! Has anyone been successful in stopping it? Did it stop after you paid the card off and closed your account?

I have an account with WAMU that went one payment late. Caught my payments up weeks ago and this number keeps calling. I have never answered it and they never leave a message. I'm assuming it must be WAMU from what I have read here. How can we make this harassment stop?

I was one payment late after 5 Years of perfect credit and they were a pain.  Day and night, until I said ok i am reporting you to WaMu and the foreigner hung up.  I canceled my cards and paid them off because I will not deal with this.

If they don't receive my payment by the due date they call constantly. The funny thing is I have all of my payments go out electronically the same time every month and they will say about every other month they don't get my payments until two weeks later. Don't they have anything better to do other than bother the people who actually pay their bills. If they are calling me who has never missed a payment, their collections department must be way over staffed. Unbelievable.

FYI - I'm paying of my card this month and closing the account.
