If "Merchant Services" is indeed a legitimate company, then they can fall off the face of the earth, as far as I am concerned. I received a call today from a representative who was concerned about about "overcharges" on our account. Beware of these sneaky sales tactics - they are not concerned about a possible "overdraft" or "overcharge", they are trying to sell lower rates (as they are purported to be a rate company). When I called out the rep, he proceeded to insult me by saying "I needed to go back to school" and get all gangster on me. Do not do business with these hacks.

I am Elizabeth, and I am not a scamer.  I work for a great company that has values and principals in all of their
actions.  Shame on you for not calling me back so I could introduce you to a wholesale rate program that is
available to business'.  No one had asked you to sign or commit to anything.  The request was for an appointment
so a representative could come to your office to determine if you ARE being overcharged and if there was a
program that could LOWER your rates so the business you work for could SAVE MONEY.

Definitely a telemarketer. Not sure if it is a scam. My desk staff received a voice message from Sharon x115 from Merchant Services saying that my "payment didn't go through". I called them back after reading this site...just to mess with her, of course. She immediately went into her sales pitch asking who I use for my credit card processing. I stopped her right there and told her "no, you said my payment didn't go through, I am calling to talk about that." She denied that, even though her voice message clearly stated it. I told her I don't do business with people who use dirty sales tactics and lying and told her to take me off the list. It's amazing what people will do for a paycheck.

I love when this company calls, I really get a lot of stress release. LOL. They're not really a scam but they are VERY underhanded with there approach. In one call they told me that they were contracted by our current processor to ensure we were receiving the best price. GREAT! then you can tell me who we process with. Her responds was the company that contracted us. I pushed her back in the corner so hard that she just hung up. LOL. I use to work for First Data Merchant Services & I now handle all the credit card processing with my current employer. So I know how they play their games & I just throw it back on them. Just remember, any Credit Card Processor and/or ISO that is worth doing business with. Will not try to hide behind any smoke and mirror tricks.

Please be wary of any merchant cold calls.  The may seem legitimate, but the fact is they are probably giving you high mark-ups on your processing. I suspect many businesses don't take the time to research actual credit card processing fees and simply take the merchant processor's "comparison" spreadsheet as proof of lower rates.  More importantly, though, any company that misrepresents itself as your existing processor when they call (as this company ROUTINELY does) is not worth your business.  They are not transparent or honest in their telemarketing, and are, therefore, not worth your time or money.  The only way to stop these calls is to stop giving them business!!  Please, on behalf of businesses everywhere, do NOT set appointments with, engage in coversation or humor these people when they call. They must be stopped!!!! These kinds of calls are simply unacceptable and should not be tolerated.

They called our company and the call was referred to me since I am the bookkeeper.  The message I got from the office sounded flakey, something about there being a problem with some of our credit card charges being incorrect.  They needed to discuss our bill with us - go over our existing charges.   Especially since they did not give us a toll free number to call, I was hesitant to respond.  So I entered the number into your database.

Sure enough, my suspicions were correct.  Lamar at 925-849-3700, x131 will not be getting a call back from us.  Thanks for the heads up.

These people keep calling me, too, at my office.  The latest was "Michael from your merchant service" asking me to call him right back. - 925-849-3700 x125 - obviously he is full of crap and thinks people are stupid???  They get no calls from me!  There is a lot of this out there now - more so than ever - and partly economy-driven.

It is a scam. I don't have a merchant card processing account, but they continue to call because when I set up my mobile account they mistakenly gave me a business rather than a personal account. If this was a legitimate company that did it's research they would know I am not a merchant and do not need the services they provide. They continue to call even though I've told them to stop. Those are not the practices of a legitimate business.

If this is a legit business, why in the world would they choose to call at 8:00 P.M., on a Sunday? Even if they are legit, which I doubt, I will not seek out doing business with a company not working during valid business hours.
They have called several times on off hours & without any business name ( or any name) shown on caller ID.

This company is a telemarketing nightmare for our business. We have an excellent credit card processing company that we will never switch from. I have personally asked one of the Managers at Merchant Services (Jessica Zuluaga) to PLEASE STOP CALLING. She said she would make the change but that I needed to send the request to her in writing via email. I did that, and still have the copy of the email sent in August of 2011. This month alone (August 2012, one year later), we have received three more phone calls from this company. The telemarketer (Michael x125) is rude, obnoxious and even forgot he hung up on us two weeks ago, yet he continues to call us over and over again. I have no patience or sympathy for these companies who continually bombard businesses with telephone calls after being asked nicely (on the phone and in writing) to please stop calling. These companies are a drain on our employees' productivity and a distraction which actually costs our company money in lost time and employee productivity. Jen, you obviously work for Merchant Services and are trying to justify these obnoxious phone calls. Give it a rest! Your company is unprofessional and HORRIBLE!

To everyone saying this is a legit company, please explain why they call and tell me they are calling about a refund to my visa and want to talk to the person who handles the credit card processing. When I asked, "so we have a credit on our visa?" he said, "no on your credit card terminal", I said "that's funny we don't have a credit card terminal, we don't take visa payments." and he said oh, ok and hung up. Yeah, real legit company :(

I bank a Wells Fargo, I do not use Wells Fargo for my mechant card processing. A Telemarketer called today. she left a voicemail. I had to play message many times she did not talk clearly. What I think she said was her name was Carla or something close to and that she was with Merchant Services and my current credit card debit prrocessing qualified for a reinbursement and I was to call 925-849-3700 x120.. my business is on the do not call list. I searched for this company and this what  found.

Same here.  Just got a call from "Rachel".  Very polite.  Just another cog in the wheel of this credit card processing industry.  Probably has no idea how these companies are all snakes in the grass, with briefcases full of lies.  Wish there was a way to shut these companies down.  

We fell for a company called Merchant Services a few years ago, and still paying for it.  Rates ended up being higher than what we were paying, AND we ended up signing a 5 yr. lease for a terminal that we didn't need.  It was proposed at being cheaper, and that we could pay off the lease at any time (which would have made it cheaper), but the payoff price advertised was incorrect.
