same thing has happened to me.  what is up with that?

i got "hi. im erin. this is my brother john. he is 21 and recently returned from iraq. he needs a nice girl. if you know of 1plz reply. ty" with a picture. i wrote him back but gave him nothing. he seems very nice so tell other girls to look out.

i got the same message at 1 a.m. at 10/18/2010, that is just too weird. should all of us report it or is it someone out there playing a game?

I got a message from that number that just said,
"Hi,
Cpl Jones, usmc"

Caller: 931-227-7476

Both my husband and I received texts from this number 931-227-7476 saying they are single and named John, 20 yrs old looking to meet sigle females in Huntsville Alabama. Text back if interested and if not sorry to bother you. He says he got my number randomly. Funny thing is he text my husband too.. Makes me uncomfortable to have some sicko have my number and texting me!

Got one similar... "Hi. My name is John. Im 20. I know its kinda wierd, but idk who u are or anthing about u... just a random number. I live in huntsville and am a chef. I stay pretty busy so i dont have time to go out to meet ppl. If for any reason this bothers u or u just dnt want to talk then I apologize and wont text u back. If u would like to then I would like to hear back from u."

This was a text to my govt work cell.

Same thing happened today.  Am disturbed this could have happened to my young teenage daughter.  Hunstville, AL as well.

no it must not be just girls in the huntsville area, Im a man & i got this same text stating his name is john, he is 20 yrs old & 6'1 & this is just a random number... I have a huntsville number also....I think it sounds pretty weird to me..

"Hi, my name is john. Im 20yrs old. Im an amatuer poet/song writer.(nt gay) Im new to huntsville and dont really know anyone. I dont know who u are or any thing about u, it was just a random number. If ud like to talk cool, if nt thats cool too."

I got this text tonight. Is he only targetting females in the Huntsville area?

Same thing happened to my girlfriend.  we are in huntsville alabama.  were are the others from?

same thing happened to 2 of my underage siblings. we've contacted authorities and they plan to look into it. very weird....

I received a text message from this number on my cell phone with the following message.  

"Hi, my names john. Im irish/cheroke, 6'0, 175lbs, athletic build. Im looking to meet a single femaile, age 18-25. If ur in said category id like to hear from you. If not Im sorry to bother you."

I received a similar message to this two months ago from probably the same number.  Luckily I'm not in "said category" but it sounds like a predator or something. I'd be wary of returning the text/call so they will not continue to call your number.
