Chris Rod is absolutely correct. We use Care Credit for dental charges and were called from this exact number to ensure that it was my husband who had just used the card for another dental bill. It's a great service and it's a good idea for followups to be made.

They have called twice and left no messages, I called them back and finally after about 6 mins on hold was able to speak with a live person. They were able to confirm that they have no idea why they called. There was mention of a survey at the end of the call so maybe it was for a survey.

It is NOT Carecredit. The number is actually a main office for GE Capital Retail Bank. They have several products such as  Amazon, CareCredit, American Eagle, Banana Republic, GAP, etc credit cards.

I called customer service (the 1800 number) to report my card lost or stolen. After that, they called me from this number to verify this with me but did not ask me for ANY sort of card number and they had all my information including my new address. So this is a legitimate number.

However, I wouldn't provide my credit number to any call you didn't start.

I saw that I had a missed call from this number. I listened to the message and the lady in the message said she was calling in regards to some recent activity on my account (never stated which account). Asked me to call an 866 # back with my account number and to provide the authorization # she gave me 7 days a week between 10 and 7. Clearly they must think I'm stupid. Deleted the message. Try again.

The number is legitimate, they were calling because a company I am dealing with in Florida tried to charge a large amount (nearly $2K) for the adult tricycle I ordered, and they thought it might be attempted fraud since I never charge that much money at one time on my card.

They are still at it. They called me at my home asking for me by name. When I contacted the number they provided: 866-834-3705 (G.E. Capital) knew nothing about this.

I got a call from this number asking me to call the Fraud Department of my credit card company. I called the number they left and was told that someone had charged an inordinate amount of money at a store I would never buy from in a city I had not been near in 15 years. They shut down the card and will send me a new one.

Because of all your ranting about this being a fraudulent call, I called my credit card company's bank and asked them to verify the number I had been told to call. It is a valid number for fraud prevention. This was a legitimate call. I have not been scammed by these people which is more than I can say for those making comments to the contrary.

I got a call today, Decemeber 10. 2012, at 3:52pm from a guy calling himself "Ryan" at this number:       937-534-2085  "Ryan" claimed to be calling on behalf of Texaco / Chevron and insisted that my husband's credit was being used fraudulently and that he (with a great sense of urgency) "must speak with _____ ( my husband) at once to straighten things out and prevent further fraudulent charges."  I told him we don't have a Texaco / Chevron account and never have.  I also told him we had no interest in buying anything, that we are on all DO NOT CALL lists and that he would not succeed in even getting me to confirm my husband's legal name, much less any other personal information like SSN's or CC #'s and that whatever his scam was, he was wasting his time on us.  He then went into high gear insisting that he was not interested in selling us anything and that this was a call initiated to PROTECT us...PROTECT our credit...PREVENT us from being fraudulently charged under my husband's SSN.  To this, I replied that we have LifeLock and that they had not reported anything suspicious / fraudulent.  Still this "Ryan" went on and on (and on and on).  Finally I said, Im going to call Lifelock, then Im going to call my bank, then Im going to call my husband, and then I would like to call you back.  What number should I use?  He then gave me this number, and claimed it went directly to his desk:  855-511-8774 .   I cautioned him that if this was a scam, I'd be reporting it to every possible authority and that my next stop would be checking the number the call originated from.  Even then, this "Ryan" kept insisting he was legitimately concerned for the fraudulent activity we'd been the victim's of and that he'd wait for me to call him back.  And I did call him back, about 15 min. later, after Lifelock and my bank told me all was well, after I'd Googled "937-534-208 scam" and after I'd read all the scam information from this site and several others.  Oh yes, I called him back alright.  And when "Ryan" answered the phone, the police whistle I blew into the receiver probably shattered his eardrum....one can hope.  I then blocked that number from ever being able to call me again and reaffirmed once and for all, that "Unknown Caller" numbers are NEVER worth answering.

I got a call from a woman claiming to be with Visa saying that my identity has been stolen. She gave me some information and a lot of overacting in an attempt to make me nervous and have me answer questions. I avoided giving her any information and asked if there was a number I may call her back at. The 866 number she gave me was a dead end. When I contacted Visa directly they informed me that fraudulent charges were being made on my card for the last several days. I immediately called FTC to report fraud (http://www.ftc.gov/ftc/contact.shtm). They suggested I file a police report as well.

ANYONE WHO GETS A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER SHOULD NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION AND SHOULD REPORT THIS NUMBER. NOTHING WILL BE DONE TO THESE PEOPLE UNLESS THEY GET ENOUGH REPORTS!

GE MONEY (Said his name was "Josh, Operator N. LR3" IS NOT JUST CALLING CREDIT CUSTOMERS! THEY ARE TELEMARKETING THEIR CREDIT CARDS! THEY ARE USING TRICKS TO TRY TO AVOID THE "DO NOT CALL LIST REQUIREMENTS BY USING FRAUDULENT TACTICS LIKE CALLING WITH COMPUTERIZED UNKNOWN NUMBERS, TO KEEP UP WITH PHONE NUMBERS THAT HAVE A RECEIVING LIVE CONTACT SO THEY CAN THEN CALL YOU BACK WITH THEIR TELEMARKETING MESSAGE! THIS IS AN ILLEGAL TACTICS THAT THEY ARE USING SO EVERYONE THAT ARE RECEIVING CALLS FROM THEM SHOULD CALL THE FCC TOLL FREE AT: (1-888-225-5322)
ALSO CALL THE Federal Trade Commission TOLL FREE AT: 877-382-4357 EVERYDAY THAT YOU RECEIVE THE CALLS AND GIVE THEM GE MONEY TELEMARKETING # 937-534-2092 AND LET THEM KNOW ABOUT THE CALLS THAT YOU ARE RECEIVING AND I GUARANTEE THAT YOU WILL GET THEM CAUGHT AND PENALIZED FOR BRAKING THE "DO NOT CALL" LIST RULES!! (I HAVE GOT THE FCC INVESTIGATING GE MONEY SO IF EVERYONE ELSE CALL THE FCC ALSO YOU WILL GET GE MONEY PENALIZED)

Received call from 937-534-2085. Man said someone was applying for credit using my business name and wanted to know if it was me. Also ask was I a partnership, Corp, or sole owner. Telling him that was probably more than I should have. I think anytime I get a call like that and I am not at by computer I will tell them I will call back and then check this and other sites for their number.

I received a call on my cell this afternoon questioning a charge on my credit card from the previous day. When I returned the call - to an 866# - the person who answered the phone immediately requested my credit card number to identify me. I explained that I was returning their call to me, she requested my credit card number a 2nd time explaining that was the only way to identify me. I asked to speak with her manager since I didn't feel she was being sensitive to my security concerns. She said that she felt like she was and asked for my credit card info once again. FAIR WARNING - DON'T PROVIDE YOUR INFORMATION TO ANYONE CALLING FROM THIS NUMBER.

I applied for care credit and just got a call from this number. I didn't pick up since I didn't recognize the number, but they didn't leave a voicemail. If it was carecredit validating my number, wouldn't they leave a message?? Very weird.

I disagree.  You should be concerned and be careful.  I haven't applied for any loan.  I got one of those calls and I've never dealt with CareCredit in any way.

My wife recieved a call from this number earlier, just to try and resolve some people getting jumpy and clear this up, This number directed me to a company called CareCredit, they deal with giving loans for animal surgery or medication (Like pet insurance) we just recently filed for it because our dog needs a hip replacement and is only a year old, our vet pointed us to this company. I'd suggest being careful before you yell at anyone calling from this number as they could decide to not give you the loan if you're belligerent. Hopefully this helps some people and clears up the confusion.
