(Maryland USA) I received a call from caller id #795 from an automated voice saying it was (inaudible) federal credit union and my credit card was suspended due to inaccurate information, and to call 515-414-2182 to reactivate it.  So I called the 515 number and another automated voice tells me to call 940-239-1018 to reactivate my card.  So I called the 940 number; it's not a working number.  Scam artists at work, I'm sure.

This number is a phishing scam and you should call it and provide them with any personal information.  According to Reverse Phone Detective, this number belongs to Unipoint Holding in Austin Texas and the carrier for that number is Broadwing Communications, LLC - TX WIRELINE.

First call came in December 23rd @ 5:53am from caller id Anderson Nycain 917-753-5329.  A recording stating that the call was a message from an unable to understand named bank (at that hour awakened from a sound sleep it sounded similr to Wachovia) to inform that there had been recorded fraud on the account, and to call a toll free number in order to get it reacivated.  Since we do not bank at what ever bank was named, I chose to ignore it.  At the end of the call it stated that one could push #3 to take our number off the call list.  Not knowing what #3 would do during such a call, I choose to hang up as every thing sounded fishy at that point in time.  A call from a name of an individual stating such information concerning a credit card issue was a huge red flag.  At 6:08am another call, same caller id name and number.  I left this one to go to voice mail.  It stated something similar, except this time it stated it was Point Bank, and giving a 940-239-1018 number to call.  It did not provide a #3 option to remove out telephone number from future calls.  Since neither was our bank, it was obvious this was a scam.  I pulled up the calling number on the internet and it listed the number as a New York City, Cingular cell phone.  Today on the 27th I contacted the local Point Bank and was told that the Secret Service is involved at this time.  There were numerous calls being made to 940 and 972 prefix numbers.
