I have received at least five (5) calls during May 15-30 from this number. Each time a hang up, except today when the line was open for 30 seconds and call center activity could be heard in background, but no one on the other end spoke after repeated "hellos" by me. *** If anyone has a link to the specific FCC or other gov. office that we should be contacting, please so reply.

Received call at 10:11AM May 30 to tell me my computer was infected due to "Ringo Software" or something like that. Told him I work for Symantec, the security company, and will have my IT manager check it out. He hung up quickly. This is a SCAM designed to take over control of a PC remotely.

THIS IS A SCAM. Read about the your-PC-is-infected-corrupted scam here http://news.softpedia.com/news/Cold-Call-Tech ... on-150170.shtml They lie about your PC sending out malware, error messages, etc., and say your PC is about to crash to frighten you into giving them remote control of your PC to fix the nonexistent problem (don't let them!). If they ask you to open the systems tab in eventvwr.msc to see all the errors, these harmless errors are *normal* for any Windows PC (mine has several and it runs just fine). Don't let them take control of your PC because they can download *real* malware, possibly a malware suite, that can spam, steal bank logins and personal info, etc. If they've remoted into your PC, the safest fix is to re-format your drive and re-install your OS assuming you have clean backups of your data. You can try scanning with various antivirus software but scanning may not find all the malware. If you don't know how, get help from friends or pay a local shop to do it. THIS IS A SCAM.

Missed a call from this number today (05-24-12). It seems there was a computer glitch on the auto-dial because some guy with a heavy accent kept asking, "Are you there? Can you hear me? Hello?" for at least a minute. I receive calls from this number frequently, and it very much is a scam. Usually I just push the button to answer the call, then immediately press it again to hang up.

I received the same call about 10 minutes ago. My computer was corrupted and sending out bad infomation. I asked for an english speaking person because I couldn't understand him. His "supervisor" came on the line with the same information. I again requested an english speaking person and he said he was speaking english and I told him he was not speaking english because I couldn't understand him. He told me about my computer again and I asked which one because I have several in my residence. He hung up. Best thing that ever happened to me.

Just received call from this number at 2:14 est. Didn't answer but there was a msg left that went "hello, hello, hello". Now THAT was funny! It's them instead of me repeating that. This is a useless call. Better now as a POS call.
teachfam 2012-05-23 17:32:22 Unknown
got the same call, claiming to be a Microsoft Tech and my system was creating problem. He said I was downloading files that were corrupting my system. He claimed this was affecting every Windows user. When I asked him why doesn't Microsoft just send a bug update or global alert, he said they were going to call EVERY Microsoft user!! That's when I knew it was a scam!!

Received a call today at 4:50 PM. Did not answer. Call log says it is an Orange County #. Ironically at 3:50, one hour before, I received a call in which the number was "blocked". Hmmm. Definitely a scam.
JC 2012-05-22 23:18:22 Unknown
Watch out is the PCWIZARD scammers answer the phone call and give them hell.. They will call you many times more untill you answer.
JC 2012-05-22 23:15:56 Unknown
I got the same phone call just a few minutes ago and Kevin from PCWIZARD told me about some viruses attacking applications on my windows based PC, he then asked me if I was in front of my PC so that I can give him remote access for him to fix the problems. I asked him if he worked with Microsoft and he said he works along with Microsoft Techs and that he needs access to my PC. I mean these guys think that we are f@&$/#g idiots and that we are just going to bend over for them that easy to give us their cyberly transmited disease. Who are these idiots? ....Anybody?....
