This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

This number was harrassing me at my job. He kept saying my Social security # will be frozen.

I had a similar call today and also was threatened that I was going to be arrested tomorrow at 10:30 EST   HIs name Eric Matthews from a 215-274-5384 and said Philadelphia address East Bay street and a zip of 29404 which I am from Philadelphia and know that city in and out and there is no Bay street and all zips begin with 190 or 191.. I cursed this b*****d out I know live in Wisconsin and I look forward to meeting his osama bin laden mfing a** on the street.

Same thing with me Eric Matthews saying that the Sheriffs Office was coming to get me.  I don;t owe anyone! I finally blocked the number through verizon.  First time I called back though it went to a "MAGIC JACK" line that was unavaiable????  Total scam...not to mention I am a Detective so I was like Bring it! JERK!

I have been getting the same kind of phone calls from a guy named Eric Matthews.Tell me that I am going to be put in jail for  3 counts Fraud for receiving a payday loan and not paying it back.which i never received.He was calling my work place and my mobile phone he left me voicemails tell me that if me or my attorney dont not contact him that all he could do is wish me luck.When I called him back it was a mobile phone it took me forever to get a hold of him but when I did he keep saying he had all of my info but he never would tell me there was a lot of talking or something in the background  he told me that he was going to read to me a statement of what I had done that i better not even speak till he was done I thought something was up then I put him on speaker phone so my husband could hear him and when my husband spoke up and had ask them what I had done he got mad and told him that he was not telling him anything and that i supposed to not had him on speaker phone.So he told me he was calling the local sheiffs office and they would come get me and that he was calling my work and tell them what i had did and then he hung up on me.I called my bank and locked my account and went to the local police department and got a police report so beware he is still out there.the # where he called me from was 1-201-215-0450

my office recieved the same call this morning and my boss have to call me about it, i called the nos areacode 386 and spoke to this atty eric matthews ..samw situation that i have a pending legal that i owed a payday loan company that thet tried to remit payment 5 times and failed so they sue me instead..i contacted my bank and no such transactions ever appeared in my account. he even gave me option to settle the 550 i owed to 375 instead but i have to pay it via greendot whatever to any walmart store..

I got a call from Eric Matthews, 951-582-4840  did a reverse look up and found they were in Corona, CA. Police will be knocking on their door soon since it is a landline.

There was a call on my phone saying that if me or my lawyer did not call back I would automatically have a no contest plea.  I called back and told them they had the wrong phone number and to not call back.  I think it was a collection agency

I received a similar phone call this morning from Federal banking Association. All had a middle eastern accent. -    He stated I have legal case pending due to a payday loan I?ve never paid back.
-    He also informed me that I will be subpoenaed and arrested within 24hrs from either my home or workplace (which they confirmed both places).
-    He said I would be transferred to court and get fired from my job.
-    He also confirmed the last 4 of my SS# and my best friends name and phone #, my place of business and address.
-    He said his company name was ?Attorney & Legal Services?
-    He stated that the pay day loan was from ?InstaCash Online? that controls over 90 websites and I never paid it back. I?ve never received a payday loan in my life.
-    He was extremely rude and threatening and I asked him what I needed to do to get handle it all. He said that they can assign me an attorney or I can pay $5000 fee to end it all. He said ?good luck to you or pay serious consequences and may god bless you? and hung up.


I work for a very large corporation with a legal department and was instructed to call my local police department. They came to my company very shortly and I filed a police report. I instruct you all to do so so if they call you back you can give them the case #. They will ignore you after that.

The police man said this is a very common scam and they use computers using "Magic Jack" phonelines that can not be traced and are changed often. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO.

i have been getting these calls as well from federal banking claiming they are a law firm and if i didnt pay up i was going to jail.... well i'm still a free man!! of course i am because this is a SCAM... so what i have decided to do is call them all through the day harashing them!! It's quite funny because i will call back to back and they start cussing me and saying they F*&ked my mother and my dad and my sister and my grandmother... They are getting very frustrated with me because i call them up with a very soft voice as you would hear in a scary movie telling them I'M COMING FOR THEM!!! I repeat this over and over and over until they say F you MotherF&*ker... It's funny hearing them cussing in there thick acciented voices!! You can tell it's a butch of 20 year olds pulling this scam just with the imaturity in there language!! The number I have is 213-402-0544 they change there name all the time but it will be the same voices!!! I even made up a bogus name and asked for this person and they said please hold then this person got on the phone and said he was the name i made up!!! Fred Samford... To funny!!!!

These guys are calling me atleast 4 to 5 times a day. Some days more. They are claiming to be Federal banking association. Then told me that I took a loan from cashnetgroup.com. Im now being prepared to be sued according to them. I said do it. I have filed police reports with my local department and also in gardena, ca. They called me one day from a 310 number.

I keep getting calls from these idiots claiming to be cashnet group. tellingme i took out a payday loan in January of 2006 which i never repaid..to which i replied bullsh*t as every payday loan i've ever taken out has been repaid through automatic drafts from my checking account. i told them i wanted them to mail me proof in writing and they offered to ead me something, claimed to have emailed me 19 times, then gave me to some woman who had a slightly less heavy accent-- who again tried to convince me that I owed them some $5000+ and would have to go to court in the next 48 hours unless I paid. I repeated myself--send it to me in writing--which they would not do--but they had ALL of my account info--but I guess cannot do anything with it unless I authorize them. I told them to f off- I'm not paying them cause this is bs--but they call everyday--several times a day on my cell and at my job. No matter how many times I tell them "i"m NOT paying you"--they continue to harrass me. I finally picked up a message they left me on my cell and the call back # which is the only thing I could understand is 213-402-0544. They are persistent jerks--like if they keep calling I'll get frustrated enough to fork over $5K to get rid of them...f-ng idiots

These nonenglish speaking a-holes from the socalled Federal Banking Association ring my mobile phone 4-5 times a day almost everyday even though they've been told not to. They call from private numbers and leave threats on my vm. The interesting part? They're calling me regarding a relative's debt not my own because I've never had business with them. The inconsiderate idiot gave them my name and number as a reference for some payday loan without my permission or consent. They called today with a threat to pursue legal action against me if I don't find this person for them. This time however they left a phone number 213-402-0544. And yes they sound Arab and have really thick accents and you can barely understand them. The first jerk was named matthew johnson but the one who called today didn't say his name. I've already filed complaints with the FTC, my attorney general and the BBB. Today however I filed a police complaint and will pursue a criminal complaint with the county court as well. I've never in my life had to deal with anything like this before. What's craziest is that it isn't even my debt!

I had these guys call me about 6 months ago and told me if I didn't send them $600.00 by 12noon they would have me arrested. They said I took out a payday loan, I asked them for the date and told them to call me back. I checked with my bank to see if any monies were deposited into my account at that time...it hadn't. They called me back and I told them I would not pay them anything until they provided me proof that I took out the loan. Nothing happened for about 2 months; then some guy who said he was an attorney called me and was nasty, threatened me and call me a thief and told me I had better send the money by 12noon. I told him to f**k off until he provided me with proof. They wanted to read me information; and I informed them that was not satisfactory. I contacted an attorney after that he told me I did the right thing and to not send money until they can provide proof...CHECK YOUR CREDIT REPORT....They posted this on my credit report, I challenged it through the credit bureaus to have it removed.  
It was quiet for about 3 months then recently they just started calling me again. I told them I would have an attorney to contact them and then I found these post regarding the same company.
I will be reporting them to the FTC and BBB

A man named George Miller of America Credit Service in Cali. said i was being sued for a loan that was done online and wired to me. I asked when was this done, first he said june of 2008 he said it numerously then he said it was june of 07. I never done a loan online on in person. I did tried on line once then i found out they want me to pay them first, then i didnt continued. that was more than a year ago. They threated to call my work and send investigators there, well the place they said was my job, i havent been there bout 2yrs. . the number that keeps calling was 1-028-551-013. when i called back it said the number was wrong. When i googled the number it showed the call back was 1-949-258-3113

This guy called and said I would be sent behind bars if I did not pay up by today, his name is attorney eric mathews, I do have a couple of loans due but this guy does not sound like an eric mathews (foreign voice with a lot of noise in the background) does not sound like an lawyers office to me. He also wanted me to write and notorize two letters explaining why I have not paid and that I promise to pay along with a card number. His number is 310-352-9387

I have been receiving calls from this Eric Matthews on and off for 6 months I did a reverse look up for the phone number and got his address it sis 4920 S. Avalon  los  Angeles Hope this helps!

my lawyer is trying to track down these guys anybody get the address of these guys the only way to sue them is we need address to find them.  thank you     they wont give it up try to tell them i'll send money order to them put need address they wont do it

I received a call from Jeff Miller with the Federal Banking Association, said that I took out a payday loan online on 03/23/07 for $512.32.  He stated he was going to press criminal charges & get me for check fraud & other criminal charges.  He was a foreigner, & could not hardly understand him.  He started asking my information & if I have ever been in trouble before & wanted me to verify my ss#.  I told him I did not have to talk to him, I would have an attorney call him back.  When my uncle who is an attorney called it kept going to voice mail.  So he called me at work again the next day stating that I never called him back & I am going to be in alot of legal trouble & he is taking the case to the court house today & I will owe $5000.  When I started asking for a case or loan # he kept saying there is not one.  I asked him to fax me proof where I took the loan out, he said it was against the law to send it to me.  I told him I would not give any information until he can prove I took the loan out, he hung up.  When I tried to call back some other foreigner answered the phone, I asked if he was Jeff, he said no, then when I told him who I was he said his name was Jeff, just a different one, to hold on & he would get Jeff Miller.  When he got on the phone I asked for an address to send a payment, he would not give me one, said it had to be credit or debit card.  So I hung up, I knew it was a scam.

I received the EXACT same messages....the man's english was VERY broken and I could only make out some of the message, but the threats were very clear! I don't know who to contact to report this. Any ideas??
