Just got a a call from this 949-283-3884 - the guy was vague and rude. wouldn't tell me anything. avoid at all costs.

Thanks for your posts. I just got a call from this number (949) 283-3884 on my Verizon cell phone but I did not answer it. Yes, Verizon never calls me, but they send text messages. Thanks for ID as a Nextel number. I see it's Irvine in the directory. They left no message. Next time I'll know this number is a scam. Many thanks. Bye, now!

Received a call on my cell phone from this number. No response to my "Hello".
We need a law aimed at this. Something with teeth. We need to track these people down. We need to have the phone companies/providers be forced to participate in tracking them down and stopping them. Follow the money......

Received a call from this number on 6/16/10. Woman said she was "with Verizon." Everyone knows that a real person from Verizon won't call you. It's hard enough to get a person on the phone when you call them. Did a reverse look-up, and the number is a wireless number in Irvine, California through Nextel. So Verizon definitely wouldn't call on a cell using Nextel. Called the number back, and a recorded messages says "you have dialed an invalid code. Message 6" and then hangs up. Absolutely a scam of some type. Only thing that changed in the last few days was that I entered some radio station contests. Guess that's not such a good idea. -Z-
