04/15/14 just received same text,wanting all info.i replied i dont think so.thanks for this post

I received a text from (949)440-1056, on Thurs. April 10th, around 5:20 EDT. Person was inquiring about an item I had for sale (Power Wheelchair~$650). When I sent a return-text saying that the item was still for sale, the person then sent me a series of texts...almost verbatim to the texts that you had received and reported. The person wanted personal info so cashier's check could be sent to me/ was willing to pay for shipping/ was "fine" with the cost/ would "wait patiently"...My experience was extremely similar to yours. Sounded like a scam, so my wife did a search of the phone #. She read what you had written about this ph # and we knew for sure. Thank you for posting! Folks need to BEWARE of (949)440-1056.

I recieved a text from (949)440-1056, on Saturday, March 08, at 2:38pm Pacific: The text reads:  "Hello, my name is John am interested in your Sport 2 155 Posted for another pilot, do you still have it for sale."
I responded saying that it was still for sale. Then about an hour later they texted me back with this:

" I am OK with the price, do get back to me with your details needed for payment (Cashiers Check) to be issued out and as well mailedto you asap via UPS or FedEx, i will handle the shipment do not worry about OK. I will patiently wait for the cashier's check to clear your bank before shipment can take place so be rest assured about that. Get back to me with your Full name... Address, City, State, Zip Code and email address."  End of Text.

I then tried calling this number only to find out it was "Dissconnected" per the recording from phone company.  It sounds like these suspious peaople are tring to get personnal info for

Call was about an item forsale wanted to buy and send money order with extra to forward to a shipper. Name used was John this was all done via text message
