Getting the $7000 dollar gift from the US government as according to them I had paid all my taxes and bills on time over the last year.
Funny that - I've just migrated to the USA from England and have only been in the country for 4 months..
Anyway they hung up pretty quick after I gave them a hard time..
Looking forward to the next call - Love winding up these scamming pricks.

Called me - said they were from the US government treasury department and they had a $7000 gift for me - so long I handed over my SSN, bank details, D.O.B. and so on.
Not fkin likely my friend.
Sounded like they were from Delhi, not the US
Next time I'm gonna string them along with a ton of false and useless information.

These people call from random numbers. you call the number back and it says it is no longer in service. They are rude- disrespectful and dont know how to quit. Not sure how they got my number but it is a male with an accent. Probably a little boy or want to be man who has nothing better to do than to call around the country and get off on people's voice.

Just received a call from this number and "played along" just to see what it was about. It was an Asian woman claiming she was from the United States Government Grants Office and I had been selected to receive a grant of $7000. She had my name, address, and everything already and read it off to me. She then proceeded to ask if I wanted to receive the money on a Visa, Mastercard, Bank Transfer, or as cash. So I said Visa and proceeded to give her a fake number. She then asked for the security code on the back of the card. I asked why they would need the security code to make a deposit onto a prepaid card, she could not give an answer and started talking about something else. So I asked again and further said "it sounds to me like your collecting information for the purposes of identity theft or making fraudulent charges to people's cards". She replied with "no no, but if you don't want to give me the number we can't give you the money."
So still playing along, I asked, "Well, didn't you tell me there were 4 options to pick from? and if that is the case, then change it to cash.". She did so and gave me a confirmation number and a phone number to call to confirm my funds. The name of the person she said I would be calling is Albert Scott and the phone number she said to call was 202-684-6653.
I might call "Albert Scott" just to bug the life out of them by calling at random times asking "Where is my money? I want my money!!" multiple times per day.
It was my cell that they called, and I have only had this number for 27 days and have not used it on the internet anywhere during the time i Have had it. So I'm baffled as to how they got my phone number unless Straight Talk is selling numbers (that is my carrier). Which I could see how that would make sense as to why she had my phone number, full name, and complete address. That needs to be looked in to because it's a very possible idea.

The caller had an Indian accent and said she was calling for the United States something. I couldn't understand her. I asked her to repeat herself a couple of times and she hung up.

Thank the Bush JR for his great telecom act. that allows US companies to use out of US telemarketers. It also opened up easier calling in to the US with out Taxes

This number called and a guy asked for me. When I said this is she, he hung up. I'm really sick of these scammers calling me. The call from different numbers all the time and it's the same scam according to these blogs.

this number has called me 7 times so far today. the first call i told the person i wasnt interested in anything they were selling and if they were a telemarketer they should just hang out. the person got very mad and started yelling at me about what I said. I then hung up on them and the person called right back and when i said what do you want? The guy said my P***Y, I became very upset about this and hung up on them. I then handed my cell phone to my husband and when the Indian guy called back he gave them a taste of their own medicine, he repeated everything the person said, which mind you was very vulgar. they kept hanging up and calling back and he continued to do the same thing over and over. The guy even threatened to come to where i live and rattled off my old address. The joke is on him though because I no longer live there. They havent called back so I think they got the point. But we will see.

I told the lady I couldn't understand her and she hung up- i can't wait for them to call back- there has to be something we can do about this. Impersonating the government!!!!! WTF! Someone needs to teach these foreigners how our government works and lock their a***s up

To stop these calls, call the one who is selling you number. Call 1-800-345-5866 then press 3. Make sure you call them at least 10 times in one day. Company that is selling your number is Carol Wright Gifts. They need to know what it feel like getting these stupid phone calls and text messages all day long. As far as Scammers they are on the top of the list.

Someone with an Indian accent, claiming to be "from the government", wanting to give away $7,000 that does not need to be repaid.
Scam.
