received from James Watson of the Federal Banking Association 949-625-0308.  He informed me that there was an affidavit and was amazed that I had not consulted a lawyer. I am not sure if they are supposed to be a collection agency or a law firm. I have never received any paperwork. He had me so upset and trying to figure out what to do.  He said I owed $612.  When I asked him for the name of the payday loan service and the account number he refused to give it to me.  He also did not wish to give me a website for his business.  After much searching on the internet all I find is information about scamming.  I do not believe this company is on the up and up.  I believe that they have some how gotten there hands on payday loan applications (maybe some actual ones and those that were refused) and are trying to milk money out of people.

My last conversation with Mr. Watson was yesterday, 12/11/08.  Because I pressed him for information, which he refused to provide, he indicated that he was washing his hands of the situation and once again, may God help me.  I don't know if any of the things he said was true, I just believe it is unwise to submit $612 without being able to find out the company that is claiming you defaulted on a loan and the account number.

Everyone I spoke with at the company was from India and no one was forthcoming.  Despite the fact that they said the company was in Florida, the connection was terrible.  I called 411 and was transferred to operators in Florida that said they had no listing of the company.  I believe that they were calling from some type of outsource company or business.  I just want to say be careful.  I did not submit the payment, but I am still very shakey and not sure if this is some phishing scheme or a legitimate requests.  Please be aware.

Received a call from a Ryan Johnson.  Tried to read an "affidavit" in broken English.  He asked me for my attorney's name and number and would not send me any information.  He said that I owed them money and that I would be getting a call the next day by 11am and that I was in serious trouble.  The problem is that he had my information (home address, where I worked, etc).  I told him to take me off of whatever list that they were calling me from.  He then became very rude and said, "You will see".  A little freaky!  He said that he was calling from the federal banking agency.  My caller id showed the number 9100000000.  According to other posts, that number is associated with several scams.  I know that this is a scam too, but I don't like the idea that he was throwing my information around.

I received a call about a supposed pay day loan.  Wrong e-mail, wrong bank.
Threatened me with a lawsuit.  Told me I would be spending Christmas in jail.  Very heavy accent, perhaps Indian or Pakistani.  I just hung up after
spekaing language that everyone understands.

I received a call from the exact same people and phone number mentioned above. I don't know where they received my information from but it did freak me out.... Then I realized it was a scam when they couldn't provide me with any written information and claiming that they had sent me several emails and also demanding I pay. Oh and another reason was they said that I had a pay day loan and it was sent to my BOA account in 2007; why didn't open the BOA account until Jan 2008. Ha, they almost ruined my day but God is Good.

I got a message on my cell phone from Steve Anderson demanding that I call him back b/c the information was time sensitive and that if I didn't call back he wished me good luck.  I called back the next day to ask for Mr. Anderson they told me he was busy and proceeded to read me an affidavit saying that I had defaulted on an online payday loan and that I owed them $600 and that I went to court that I would end up owing over $5,000 in court fees, etc. He went on to ask me all of my personal info and he had some of the info right but had the last 4 of my SS# wrong.  When I asked him give me the info of the bank or the acct # he stated that the company had over 300 banks and he could not give me that info.  When I told him I wasn't giving him any of my personal info and that I thought this was a scam he got on the defense and told me that you know you borrowed this money.  I told him that I had never received a payday loan online and that I was going to check into it a little more then he said don't worry about it and hung up the phone.  After I googled this # I noticed that a lot of other people was experiencing what I just went through.  When I called the # back about 30 minutes later it was disconnected.  If you get a call from these people don't waste your time talking to them they will ruin your day!  Also they sound like they from India or something and it also sounded like they were speaking through some type of computer generated device.

A man called me on 12/16 at 5:30PM and left a message on my cell phone by the name of Mike Dello.  The message sounded recorded.  It said I needed to call back immediately to 949-625-0308 and if I didn't, I would suffer the consequences and all he could wish me was Good Luck.  He had an Iranian accent.  When I called the number back on 12/16/08, it was disconnected and no longer in service.  Then, on 12/17, he called this morning and it was the same voice, but he used a different name that I couldn't make out.  However, it was the same exact voicemail from the night before.  I called this morning to the 949-625-0308 and he asked what my phone number was.  I told him what he was and he asked me for my name.  I said you know what my name is because you called me.  He said he needed more information.  I told him this was a scam because I have looked him up.  He then called my cell phone right after I hung up on him and from the same unknown number.  I picked up and said stop calling me, this is a scam!  He then called me from a different number of 941-961-8518 and left a message that said "Tandi, I know you are there and this is not a scam.  If you do not wish to pay the debt, you will suffer the consequences."  I then called that number back from my work phone and the number was a verizon wireless number that was all of the sudden disconnected.  This is a scam and I am reporting it today!

I thank God that this information was available to me today!  My daughter received the call yesterday from someone with a heavy accent.  He told her that your mother is in serious legal trouble with a bank.  By him telling her this, I knew that something wasn't quit right. Because if 'I' was in 'legal' trouble, he would have ONLY requested the urgency for me to get in touch with him to my daughter.  She was concerned for me but as soon as I put in the number this wicked person gave my daughter and my assumption was proven right, then all is well in my home.  ALTHOUGH, if by chance he calls and I receive the call, I'll play his game and get the imformation as to where I am to send this money and send that to the FTC!
Many thanks for each one of you making a comment.

I think the guy's name was Arwin Petersen or something close to that, the correct last name for sure. He called once last week on my cell, telling me that there is an urgent matter and that I need to call as soon as I get the message. If I dont call, then he wishes me GOOD LUCK!!. He doesnt say what the issue is. And this morning, I have a message on my office work phone. How he got that info, beats me. I know for a fact that I dont owe any payday loan companies or anything. Im not sure who to report them to, where it will actually stop the harassing calls. I watched a segment on Good Morning America where they said to tell them you are recording their call and try to get their address. But, they are very defensive when you try to get their information. I just hang up if I get the call or dont return the call period. I know its a scam and dont waste my time talking to these crooks.

I am in Florida and gotten calls from them starting last week. They say they are from the Federal banking association and a payday advance company is pressing charges on me. They called Thursday last week and said i would have to be in court on Friday. I asked them what court, they couldn't tell me, I asked them what time, said their attorney's would have to contact my attorney. They asked if i meant not to pay  my debt and i said of course not, I didn't know i even owed this, they said if i paid $750 today they would stop proceedings, i asked for them to send me the affidavit and they said they could only send it to my attorney. Do not believe these people. They do have a lot of your info but they are not for real.

This number keeps calling my job.  Roger Bryan called me by name and said for my attorney or me to contact them at 949-625-0308.  Said it is very important and that if I don't then he wishes me Good Luck.  I called the number from my cell phone.  He asked me was that the number that I was contacted at.  I told him that he called me and that he should know what number he called me from.  Then he asked me to verify the spelling of my name.  I told him to verify the spelling for me since he called me by name.  Roger stated that without my verification he could not give me any information.  I told him that without his verification then we could not do business and I hung up the phone.  He did have a thick accent.  He sounded maybe Iranian.
