My dad got a text message on his phone first thing this morning from uspaytoday.com, but it was a different phone number that the users above me received it from. His was from (916)494-9488. Here's the message he got:
Low on cash? Get your Payday Advance Today! $100-$1500 wired to YOUR bank account within 1 hr! Cash is waiting. Apply at uspaytoday.com (optout, reply STOP)
I reported it to the FCC as an unsolicited text message. I urge all of you to do the same.

Don't bet on not getting any more calls if you supposedly "opt out". I've done that 6 times so far and these lowlifes still send this text-spam at all hours of the day and night. 1 am , 3 am, 7 am, nights, weekends, you name it.
Apparantly the Do Not Call registry is only for phone calls, not text messages, or so I was told when I complained to my wireless carrier about these texts. I can only block up to 5 numbers for call-or-text and I already used them up trying to block other numbers that these guys use. But they have so many lines that it's impossible to block them all.
To add insult to injury I get charged for every one of these pieces of e-garbage that I get, because I don't have a text plan. Don't need it because everybody I know, knows to either call (voice) or email, never text, so why spend an extra 60 bucks a year for something I never use? Yeah it's only 10 cents each but it's the principle of the thing -- I never asked to receive this junk!
Not to mention practically getting a heart attack when the phone goes off in the middle of the night because these idiots are sending out spam at 2 or 3 am, can't get back to sleep and then feel like **** for lack of sleep the next day.

I recieved two text messages from this number one at 2:49 a.m. on Sunday morning and the second at 4:30 a.m. Monday morning!. Compeletly unexceptable. This must be a scam. I was afraid to send the STOP text back to them to "opt- out" as they instruct you to do if you are not interested. However, I finally did so that I would not be woken up by these creeps again.

Go to the FCC's consumer complaint page at http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm
Fill out the form. They actually take the wireless telemarketing pretty seriously.

Got the same message today from 202-674-5381 and 954-683-4350. Irritating!

I almost forgot to mention something.
I called the number that showed up on my caller ID (949-637-3143), and it has a recorded message stating:
"I'm sorry, but the person you called has a voicemail box that has not been set up yet...goodbye"
and then the call disconnects.
How convenient!
Here's a way to get back at these types of texts:
If your cell phone has the capability (AFAIK, all cell phones do), go to your phone settings and cancel / shut off the "Show My Caller ID". Then simply flood the telemarketers numbers with random texts (obviously not a good idea if you have a limited text plan). Cheers!

Got a text from this number at 7:59 a.m. this morning with this message:
Short on Cash? Receive up to $1500 in your account TODAY! No credit check, no faxing, instant approval. Visit www.uspaytoday.com (optout,reply-out).
Why am I still getting texts and calls from stupid telemarketers when I'm on the national Do Not Call list?!!?
