Cold call from Tom at Lifetime Memory, I don't purchase memory in quantities where a reseller is needed.

I used to buy from Lifetime fairly regularly until my former sales rep told me they sell used ram as new.   She asked my to post this as a warning to others so she wouldn't get sued.

Apparently they get ram that's referred to as returned finished goods which was explained to me as being ram that was sold and returned for whatever reason.  Not only is this against the law, it unethical and immoral.  On top of that, she told me that lifetime doesn't make all their own ram and frequently buy cheap ram from china and put made in the USA stickers on it.  The owner, Paul Columbus, was even jailed for smuggling chips at back in the 90s.

If you don't believe me, ask them to put in writing that that they have never sold returned ram, never relabled another company's ram or that Paul Columbus was never in jail for smuggling.  They won't do it because that would be lying on paper which can be used in court.  Don't accept any verbal explanations.

Holy crap!  I got cold called by that Tom guy and like the poster above mentions, he's a real charmer.   Wish I could vote this guy for worst salesman.  He has no idea what my business is like, and when I attempt to explain to him hardware is not our priority, he tried to tell me how to sell, how to advertise and how to attract customers.  I have no problem with advise, but this guy was perhaps the most condescending a***ole I'd ever had the pleasure of talking to.

LOL , Incredible.

Actually, New Egg and Amazon is over-priced. Have you checked what kind of warranty New Egg is offering lately?

If Lifetime rips off customers so much, then why do people continue to buy from them?

You are a nut! Good luck with that unemployment check. I'm sure the rest of the country is so happy to pay for your unemployment benefits, you are a lazy bum.

Yes! People need to take it out on Lifetime Memory Products.  I used to work there.  Its up to you whether you believe me or think I'm just a disgruntled ex-employee but here are facts:

- You will get called over and over and over because Tom Gerardo wants 100 calls from his employees a day and that's what they give him even if they have to call you 3 times a week.  Its to make their call counts.

- Tom is an annoying micro-manager and he truly treats his people poorly.  I choose unemployment over continued abuse by him.

- The post by "Tom Gerardo" obviously isn't from him but the content is only a slight exaggeration from the truth.

The only way this company made it to 30 is by ripping off its customers.  They charge retail prices to wholesale customers.  If you need memory, go on the web and order from Newegg or Amazon.  Its cheaper and comes with free shipping.

90% of the people that are posting on here are liars. I buy from Lifetime because they have been around for more than 30 years. How could they possibly have stayed in business this long if they are so bad? They are not bad, this is a case of people who are angry or upset for the wrong reasons, and they do not need to take it out on Lifetime.

Tom Gerardo keeps calling and calling. When we declined to give out contact information for the owner he accused us of trying to cover up illegal activity. What a charmer. Now I definitely want to do business with his company.

Once you're on their list, you'll never get off it.  I've asked multiple times to be removed, but eventually  they call again.  I've gotten 5 calls in two weeks and when I complained to Tom Gerardo the sales manager, he denied that they called that much and preceded to argue with me about how many calls are inappropriate.    Tom, if a customer doesn't want your calls and you keep calling, you're not going to get a sale. Ever.

My advice to anyone having issues is to report them to the BBB, add a negative review on Google, Yahoo, Yelp and any place else and maybe they'll get the message or go out of business.

I'm the sales manager at lifetime memory and I can tell you for a fact that most of the "American manufacturing" we do is a lie. We buy a lot of product from MA Labs and other dirtbags as I like to call them. As long as it's cheap and we can make a quick buck, I couldn't care less about quality or where it came from.
The reason you people get so many phone calls is because I stand over my employees all day and verbally abuse them into making as many calls as possible. If I call you and don't like what you have to say, I'll verbally harass you too.
We will screw you it's just a matter of when. So be smart and block our calls or we'll keep calling and calling and calling and calling and calling and calling and calling....

Received 5 calls so far.  They are insistent on selling me the memory.  I told them I am a small time business, I don't buy enough, I have no need to set up any form of agreement, and that they are wasting my time.  By small-time I mean, MAYBE 1 or 2 side jobs a month.

They seemed aghast when i said they were wasting my time.  "He said wasting your time?  By saving you money on memory?"  I said yes, since I've already told them no (4 times prior).

They've alerted me to their existence once, they don't need to call me again and pressure me into switching to your business 4 more times.  By doing so they've ensured that I will never use their service.  No matter how much cheaper you are.  Perhaps if they weren't so pushy, the day I need a memory provider, I would have considered it.  Not now.  Stop annoying people and businesses.

I've talked to the Lifetime people, told them that I would contact them if I had business for them, and yet they still insist on calling at least twice a week. It is phone spam at this point, as waste of my time, and not endearing me to their company or product. (Beau: your response was most unhelpful.)

I am an Apple Specialist and buy all my ram from Lifetime Memory. Johnny is my rep and has been for the last 8 years and the only way I would buy from anybody else is if they went out of business. Enough said!

These calls are from a company called Lifetime Memory Products.  They call our business all the time trying to get us to buy computer memory from them.
