Same problem. Called me just now and didn't leave a message. When I called back, I just got the operator saying the call could not be completed as dialed. Didn't matter whether I used a "1" or not... same recording.

Calls my cell phone in the evenings, as late as 8:30pm.

When I call back, it's a voicemail box for Phoenix Alexander.

But it's a political robocall! It leaves messages for me for Claire Muller, in a runoff for Atlanta City Council President.

The runoff is December 1, so I'm assuming this number is going to call me every night until then :(

Calls anytime, doesn't care that some people sleep.  Callback connects to a voicemail box for Phoenix Alexander, but leaves messages Claire Muller, in a runoff for Atlanta City Council President.

Today is Dec 1st, the runoff vote for City Council is today, and I have already voted.  Completely wasted call, as they all are.

I have a strict policy of not voting for candidates that use robocalls.  It sounds spiteful, but while researching the candidates I have noticed that it's usually the worse candidate who relies on the robocalls anyway, so this policy stands for me.  If everyone adopts this policy the calls will end!

I was going to vote for her, but with these evening attacks on my cell phone (which is on the do-not-call registry), I'm going to sadly have to vote for Cesar now.

Called my cell phone (on the do not call registry) at 7:52pm and 8:51pm on a Sunday!!! When I call back, it's a vm box for a made-up woman "Phoenix Alexander." Watch out for these people!

This number is now being used to automatically dial homes in Douglasville Georgia and begging the good folks there to vote in highter taxes. If you answer, you get a recording, If you don't answer but have an answering machine, you get a recording.

Who knows what will happen to it after the 2009 election!

I got a call from 949-829-1840, according to my caller ID. I did not take the call since the # was unfamiliar. I just googled it to see who it was. Glad I did not pick  up.

This number is associated with 949-579-2011 and 909-579-2011.  This is the third time this "mortgage financing" company has called my cell phone this week.
1)  the company does not include its name in the prerecorded call
2)  the call is unsolicited
3)  they are calling my call phone
4)  i have requested at the end of the message each time to not be called
5)  i am on the fcc do not call list

I have complained to the fcc using this form:

Got a call AGAIN from 949-829-1840; I'd just not pick up, but it's on my work phone and it could be a client calling... VERY frustrating. I hit '1' to speak to someone, per the recording, was put on a staticky hold, and then the line disconnected.

Whenever I receive a phone call from someone I don't know. Like 800#s or from a different area code, I turn on my fax machine and let it pick up. There is nothing like the scream of some computer in the ear! That stopped a lot of the harassing calls I was getting.

Well spoken! Couldn't have said it better myself...the phone is the one thing that we get so familiar and comfortable with... we tell our phones all our secrets. no matter if its a text, voicemail, email, pic, or whatever, the phone sees it all. So its our job (the owners of the phone) to train our phones to be who we are, because it becomes apart of you...

I know one thing I am getting calls from all these numbers and I am so annoyed. Does even posting the numbers on here help? Does anything help? Lord only knows whos involved in all these phone calls. I never answer my home phone because of this. Thank God I do have caller ID and I have all family and friends on distinct rings. I have a question for anyone out there that might have an answer. And yes, I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST! How in the world do we get them to stop calling? Can anyone answer that?

Called my land-line this PM. Of course, not recognising the #, I didn't pick up.

The phone is to assist me, not bother me. If She/he/they/it has/have something to say, dumb or not, a VM will surely be left.

Received a call from this number, when I asked to be removed from the calling list the female hung up on me.
I attempted to call back and speak to a manager and received a message that the number was disconnected or no longer in use.

Thanks. That makes sense, given that, like millions of us during The Great Depression II, I've lost my home. May their business crumble just like the other crooked ones are. I admit that, after working hard for decades I take some satisfaction in seeing those who destroyed me financially in spite of my best efforts to handle the climbing interest (and zero equity) fall from their mansions' spires. The higher you climb, the harder you fall, thieves.

Don't recognise the #? Don't pick up. You'll be spared so much grief, not to mention the ugliness you were subjected to. I'm sorry you had to listen to such trash. DON'T PICK UP. VM/answering-machine will if the caller has any intent to pass a msg on to you, & then you: (a) Can decide whether this is a call worth a response; (b) have recorded evidence if you're dealing with a felonious scammer.

Please don't let the pond-scum be rude to you. Don't pick up the phone if you don't recognise the caller. If you don't have caller-ID, I'm sure you have VM or some form of answering machine, no? If not, you should get one: With everything digital nowadays, you can get an "old school" cassette answering machine for less than $10 & it'll work just fine.

They must be ignored. Then, whoever the maggots are, their antisocial attitudes will ultimately do them in, legally, personally, or psychologically. Just thinking about that makes me smile.

I got a call from the same # today, 2/16/09, @ 6:50pm CST. Identity? "Unavailable," but of course. My policy w/calls are simple: (a) If I recognise the caller & can/wish to speak, I pick up. If I don't, I have my reason/s & if the call was important, the caller will leave a VM. (b) If I do not recognise the caller, I NEVER pick up. In the unlikely chance that someone of importance to me is calling from an unusual #, s/he will leave a VM. (c) The phone is a tool I use to get things done. It's not a terrorist poised to hassle me. With that in mind, I've got peace-of-mind and the malignant callers can go where they all go in the end.
