Woman called asking me to give her my photocopier model #, when i asked why and for what reason she hung up the phone.

Called and asked for the model number to our copier and when I questioned where she worked she would mumble making it hard to understand what she was saying. When I gave her the model number she continued to tell me that i was incorrect and that wasn't the model number and that if I would just tell her the brand she would tell me where to look. All while anytime I didn't give her the answer she was looking for she would say "oh god" like I was irritating her or something. She kept name dropping photocopiers such as Xerox, lexmark, ect. I told her we don't even have those brands and before she hung up she said "okay that's fine next time you order you will be paying more for your toner." We don't even pay for our toner it's on contract with the selling dealer.

She was claiming she was "updating the records for our photocopiers"

951 547 3970 called and asked for fax model number. Same deal, telling us that toner was going up to $721 per carton from $639. I was confused and told her we order elsewhere and she said she would make a note and hung up on me. ?? WHYYY are these people getting away with calling all of these companies???

Same thing happened to us. It is a complete scam. Dont give out your info.

Caller called and asked if I could give her our copier model number.  I asked what she needed it for.  She said she was updating our copier information in her system.  I said I was confused as to why she needed this information.  Is she going to send me some information on toner for this machine?  Then she hung up.

Caller said they were calling to verify the model number of our office copier, that the model number was right on the front, to please give them the model number. I said that if they were calling to verify, to please tell me what number they have on file and I would verify. The girl then hung up.

Claimed to be a supplier for our fax machine/photocopier. In four years we have never ordered supplies over the phone or internet; there's a perfectly good office supply store down the street. When I asked if they had previous business with us and if I could have the name of the person here they'd done business with, they hung up on me.

Get several calls a week from them and others.  It is a scam.  They are attempting to sell you toner for about 3 times the amount you can get it for from whoever leased you your copier.

5/26/11 I got a phone call today stating that they wanted to verify the fax machine/printer that we have. I gave her the number on our machine without thinking about the previous time they called the office. She said to get a pen and paper because she was going to tell us about the new deal so I went along with it. She said that as a curtosy to our office her SUPERVISOR was going to send us toner cartridges for the last price we got them for which was $659 because their computers crashed and the price has gone up to $700. I said I don't believe that anyone from our office has purchased toner from them. She then repeated herself about her supervisor etc and I said what is the company you are calling from she hung up on me. I've tried calling the number back but someone would pick up and hang up right away. I checked the area code online it says its a california area code. I tried to file a complainet with the BBB but they couldn't make one because they didnt have the city. They said that if it were to happen again to call back if I had any more info well I cannot tell them more if they hang up on them.
