I got into this scam also. I turned them in to the BBB, told my Bank where I had my credit card that I was contesting the charges on credit card, I email consumer's hotline, they gave very good advise, I kept calling the phone number Acai Nutraburst and also did the Colon Cleanse, numbers on the the bottles and telling them what I was doing. My credit card charges where over $157 dollars, but I was credit the money back. Don't let them get away with this. It was a hard lesson learned. Never give out you credit card number to paying shipping because they then have your number!

Total Scam!  I got charged $74.94 on my account just a few days ago.  I also read through and did not see anything in regards to future charges.  However, I should have known nothing is free.  Regardless it is wrong of a company to behave in this manner.  I called 951-281-500 and was able to obtain a cancellation number but they said they could only refund me $20 since I was breaking the "contract".  I asked them for thier tax ID number and said I would be reporting them to the BBB.  He refused.  My call was then "disconnected" while I held for a supervisor. I than called my credit card comapny (Chase) and they were fabulous.  They seemed to be familiar with this scam and said they would refund my money within 1-2 days.  Refuse any product that is delivered to you by either returning to the post office or informing your mailman and contact your financial institution asap.  Thank you to Chase!  Great customer service.

they have now resorted to outright theft. I never ordered anything and they somehow got my card number and charged it for $74.94. My bank is now pursuing them but it's going to cost me the headache of having to get my card replaced.

This company is a scam.Should have known it was too good to be true-and I READ all fine print before I do anything. The free trial only had a 1.99 shipping and handling. there was NOTHING about this on the site- and I  don't mean -terms of service my butt-those are always listed around the credit card transaction...the whole paragraph you have to read and click "I agree" before a purchase....NOTHING. Then you have to pay a long distance charge to call them- AND you have to wait for a long time to get them... what a sham!!!!!!!! BBB report coming next.

The way this scam works - relies heavily on the consumer not reading the terms and conditions BEFORE processing your order.

By law they are required to disclose in the Terms and Conditions that you will be charged for the first bottle if you do not cancel. The trial period is to try it out first - then bill you for it. They will autoship future products and charge your debit or credit card every month.

Problem is most consumers never read this information -you agreed to them by placing your order whether you read them or not.

To add to the scam
- the trial was deliberatly sent late so it would arrive after the trial period that starts the date you placed the order - NOT WHEN YOU RECIEVE IT!
- started billing for the first bottle before the trial period is over
- refusing to stop shipping/billing when cancelled

These are added to the rest of the SCAM
- These products do not work -NEVER HAVE - THERE IS NO MIRACLE PILL!
- not approved by FDA or claims validated by FDA
- bogus celebrity endorsements - both RachelRay and Oprah have disclaimers on their websites that DO NOT ENDORSE these products

Next time you think about doing something like this again!
-Check the internet for complaints first - people are still falling for it despite 1000,s of complaints about them.
-Read the terms and conditions before you start to place your order - you can locate the terms and conditions at the bottom of the screen. IF not there- STOP
-Check celebrity endorsements by checking on the celebrity websites.

The internet is tool to protect you from scams like this - in this day and age - you have to expect scams first - check them out before hand and make an informed decision!

A Texas company selling acai berry supplements has agreed to end a number of consumer abuses, following an investigation by Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott.

Under the settlement, FXsupplements.com, based in Arlington, Texas, agreed to stop shipping unauthorized orders to customers, refrain from making false health claims, and clearly disclose its terms of service to future purchasers. The online vendor also agreed to provide refunds to customers that it overcharged for its products.

Distributor Austin Hilton widely advertised the "acai berry" supplement as reducing the risk of heart attack, Alzheimer's disease and cancers. His advertising materials also claimed the product could limit premature aging.

Web advertisements indicated that the Acai Berry Maxx product was "naturally potent in antioxidants" and could flush up to 30 pounds of waste and toxins from the body. Hilton's claims are not backed by sound scientific studies, and they have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

When customers clicked on the FXsupplements.com or acaiberrymaxx.com advertising links, they were informed that they would have four minutes to place their orders before the free trial of the Acai Berry Maxx product expired. Customers who completed orders were asked to pay a $5.95 shipping and handling fee. To make the required payment, purchasers had to provide their credit or debit card numbers.

The attorney general's investigation found that this transaction led customers to a "terms and conditions" page that failed to clearly disclose several problematic provisions. By accepting the "free" 15-day supply valued at $65, Abbott said customers unwittingly entered into a "negative option" plan with the company. Under this scheme, FXsupplements.com would automatically "renew" orders after the 14-day trial period expired without customers' express authorization to continue. The renewal forced customers to pay $80 for one-month supplies of Acai Berry Maxx, even after customers demanded cancellation.

According to state investigators, the negative option language embedded within the "terms and conditions" violated state law. Under the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, terms providing for ongoing contractual obligations must be disclosed clearly and conspicuously on the contract.

Investigators also discovered that FXsupplements failed to promptly ship orders. As a result, customers did not receive their free products until the free-trial had nearly expired. This gave customers little time to try the products without obligation and decide whether to order additional products. Meanwhile, Hilton and his companies automatically put customers onto a revolving shipment of prepaid products after the trial period ended without customers' knowledge or consent.

While Hilton touted Acai Berry Maxx as a remedy or cure for diseases, FXsupplements' "terms and conditions" contained fine-print language acknowledging that the products were not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disorders and diseases. Importantly, the FDA has not approved Acai Berry Maxx as a drug with the curative properties claimed by Hilton.

Hilton and the defendant companies, which also includes Hilton HG, Ltd., agreed to numerous corrective measures and penalties, including customer restitution and Web page modifications. The agreed final judgment prohibits Hilton and FXsupplements from relying upon false advertising or deceptive schemes to sell the products. Under the agreement, material information cannot be obscured within the purchase agreements' "terms and conditions."

If the defendants employ the "negative option" billing plan in the future, they must clearly disclose the steps customers can take to discontinue their contract. Additionally, customers who are wrongly charged for unwanted products must receive prompt refunds. Hilton and his companies must also provide reliable telephone customer service in order for customers to contact the company.

Now you know what kind of scammers you are dealing with -- think about where the crap they sent you may have come from -- YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

They don't care what they sell you just want your money. DO NOT take this crap. If you're lucky it would do nothing, but the effects might be far worse! Send it back or flush it but DON'T TAKE IT.

Lesson learned.

I was also taken in by this company called Acai Nutraburst. I ordered a sample but had to give them my credit card #, two weeks later I have a $74.94 charge on my credit card. Tried calling them and was very hard to get through, took an hour. They told me the TERMS & CONDTIONS said after 15 days you have to call them and cancel, told them I couldn't find that anywhere???????? told them to take the charges OFF, but they told me the product was shipped and they could only credit me with $49.94, there is a $25 charge. THIS IS A TOTAL RIP OFF WHICH I WILL REPORT TO THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU, MY MAP, AND NBC ON TELEVISION. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY.

I received the same charges on my account today. I also spoke with my bank and was given the 951-735-9966 number. The number is out of California and is for Razor. I did order the Acai and I am in the process of disbuting the charge. My bank said I need to wait until Friday when the charge has been settled. I am furiuos as this was a trail; no where did it say anthing about further charges. Good luck to all of you out there who have had fruadulent charges on your debit/credit cards.

same issues with same company on 7/6  money drawn on my acct.from ebilling systems. i had to wait for this to post on my acct.on 7/7. on 7/8 i was able to get info from bank, the rep.gave me phone #951-735-9966 that posted this transaction. i called the company, a message saying if your having trouble with ebilling acct. call 951-281-5000. another message telling me, leave message someone would return my call. i did not leave message.i called my bank asap. we compared phone# to the only transaction i made on 6/23. i paid shipping $1.99 on/free trial.(ACAI NUTRABURST)i'm calling razor, acai nutraurst & the BBB first thing tomorrow morning. the bank sent my dispute to their fraud/loss prevention dept. i went to the internet yellow pages with the phone #951-735-9966, it gave me "razor". with a little more research i was able to get their real name "RAZOR MEDIA".  needing more info, i goggled the phone # which brought me here. i wonder how much $$ these people get from folks that don't pay attention to their accts. must do extremly well to take risks.i never order product this way for this reason.i normally by stuff the old fashion way(drive to the store and see what i'm buying)keep the receiept in case i have issues w/my purchase. less trouble compared to the B.S. i'm dealing with now. it's also the same reason i don't submit my phone#i delete the page/site if a company can't give me info w/o #.
