These people won't stop calling, and when I asked the representative to take me off their list she became very rude, wouldn't listen, and when I said I would go to the management she said, "great, you do that" and hung up.

If the caller really is United Healthcare, they probably ARE using a "legitimate caller I.D." It is probably YOUR phone service provider that is too cheap to look up the caller name (CNAM) for the caller ID (CID -- the number that gets set over the phone line) in a third-party database. That way, they save a few tenths of a cent per call.
"To look up the name associated with a phone number, the carrier in some instances has to access that information from a third-party database, and some database providers charge a small[clarification needed] fee for each access to such databases. To avoid such charges, some carriers will report the name as "unavailable", or will report the name as "(city), (state)" based on the phone number, particularly for wireless callers. For 800 numbers, they may report a string such as TOLLFREE NUMBER if the name is not available in a database."
Quoted from Wikipedia at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caller_ID
The carrier referenced in the quotation above is YOUR carrier, because the caller ID name (CNAM) is NOT SENT by the calling party's carrier with the call you receive. I know. I have family members who use Comcast as their local service provider, and all that shows up when I call them (but not most other people) is the name of the company to which the block of 1000 numbers that includes my number is assigned. They don't get to see my name -- ever -- even though I paid a fee to my own company for reporting the telephone number to the most widely used CNAM databases. In fact, it has been reported here that Comcast will pass *other* information that *is* provided with a phone call *instead of* a real CNAM (look up "V numbers" on this site), and that the V numbers change from call to call from the same number in real time! (Real CNAM names are not supposed to do that.)
So before you blame the caller, check into your own phone company. And note that cell phone carriers may be particularly bad about providing real CNAMs with their caller ID numbers.

United Healthcare with a messed up robocall. I can't understand why a major company would use such an offensive system. Totally tone-deaf. Bad publicity for United Healthcare. One would think that they would at least use a legitimate caller I.D. rather than "Minneapolis, MN".

This is UNITED HEALTHCARE'S NUMBER. Whatever else they use it for, they use it to contact Providers (Doctors, Labs, etc.) concerning some NEW CONTRACT THEY NEED SIGNED BECAUSE "THEY LOST ALL THEIR OLD CONTRACTS". Sure........and I'm THE MAN IN THE MOON!
Just another ploy to try and stick it to the docs!
Sent them a copy of my ORIGINAL AND STILL VALID CONTRACT.
NO SIGNY NO NEWY CONTRACT!

My caller ID identified the call as "Minneapolis, Minn".
I didn't pick it up, and they didn't leave a voicemail.
I DONT have United Health Care as my insurance carrier for one thing, and secondly, I have gotten this call with different phone numbers coming in from different parts of the country.

I work for a private investment company which has a massive phone tree. Somehow this number called my direct line and left a voicemail that makes no sense about UnitedHealth Care.

I just got a phone call from this number. Just to clarify: the number in question is 952-367-2275, NOT 953-367-2275. I had a voice mail from a co-worker and it was from the above number. I work for United Healthcare in Green Bay, WI. The number that shows on the caller ID is for the main corporate office in Minnetonka, MN. I have had many calls before from HR to my home phone or even at work from a United Healthcare office around the country where the number begins with a 952 area code. This is because UHC's mainframe phone system routes through the home office with their new VoIP phones. Most calls will show as a 952 number unless you work in certain offices where you have a direct extension. I hope this helps.

I did get a voicemail and it was Very broken up. The caller said they were from NY Family care Insurance Company which is a lig company but the strange thing was that the area code was from 952 which is Minnesota. If they were calling from NJ Family care, why would they be calling from Minnesota?

I got a call from a woman asking if I had decided to apply for supplemental medicare medical coverage at their sponsered meeting I recently attended. I told her I decided to remain with my current insurance provider. She thanked me and offered me the opportunity to let them know if I were to change my mind in the future.
I recently attended two different meetings and I 'm not absolutely sure which Insurance company she was affiliated with, so I wouldn't want to state the wrong one, but what I can say for sure is that the meetings I attended were both for HMO or PPO medical insurance plans designed for individuals on Medicare, by the March 31st open enrollment period.
I am assuming that the company sells "ALL TYPES" of medical Insurance.
I HOPE THIS MESSAGE HELPS OUT SOMEONE!!!!

Got the call today at l1:52 AM Eastern Time on my personal cell phone and was on the home phone. No VM left and when I tried to call it, the number is busy. I have no idea who this is calling and should not be getting any collection calls. I have had my cell number for four or five years now and I have it listed on the Do Not Call Registry as well. This is the first day I got the call.
