Yes, I received a similar call, accusing me of three counts of malicious intent to defraud a financial institution, theft by deception, and larceny by check. When I asked her to repeat the information, she said I had a bad attitude and then said I would be arrested within 48 hours unless I gave restitution in the amount of $972.50. I called my attorney and he said that it was just a threat, and to record carefully everything they said. It's probably bogus, and a threat to see if you will pay up. BTW, the original amount was a payday loan from May of 2009 in the amount of $350, and I filed for bankruptcy almost a year later. My civil obligation to this debt was wiped out in a no asset bankruptcy and this one was named in the BK.

Got a call today at home, work and to my sister from a Robert Beano threatening me for not paying a past debt. I know nothing of this debt and it outrages me that he somehow go my sister's info. He had the nerve to mention to her as well that I would be arrested.  Nevertheless, I called him back and asked for him to send me a written validation notice, of which is required by law when trying to collect a debt. He seemed angry and said he would see me in court. Then hung up of course. Don't let these guys scam you. If you owe the debt, get written notice plain and simple. If they don't provide than its a scam. These guys suck. KNOW YOUR RIGHTS.

False statements. Debt collectors may not lie when they are trying to collect a debt. For example, they may not:

   falsely claim that they are attorneys or government representatives;
   falsely claim that you have committed a crime;
   falsely represent that they operate or work for a credit reporting company;
   misrepresent the amount you owe;
   indicate that papers they send you are legal forms if they aren?t; or
   indicate that papers they send to you aren?t legal forms if they are.

Debt collectors also are prohibited from saying that:

   you will be arrested if you don?t pay your debt;
   they?ll seize, garnish, attach, or sell your property or wages unless they are permitted by law to take the action and intend to do so; or
   legal action will be taken against you, if doing so would be illegal or if they don?t intend to take the action.

Got a call from this number today. Never heard of the bank before. Certainly have never done business with them. What a poorly done attempt at fraud.

These people have called me TWICE....from different numbers!  The first time was the 954 number and a local number.  That was about three months ago. I Googled the local number and it brought it me directly to this web site.  They would call once a week (asking for ME), then out of the blue, they stopped calling.  Last week, I received a call from a 716 number and TODAY, I received a message from these people from a 954 number about a totally different "situation" (asking about ANOTHER person).  When I asked them the purpose of the call, the lady IMMEDIATELY lost her temper.  You'd think I wasn't supposed to ask any questions at all! That simple b*tch had the nerve to hang up on me.  I called her back and her first words were, 'Ma'am, if you call here again, I will press charges against you.'  How can someone have the AUDACITY to threaten to press charges when they're the ones who called my house asking about SOMEONE ELSE?  I'm going to look into this and press charges because I don't appreciate being threatened and I don't appreciate these people preying on others just because they're finding random telephone numbers to call.

This malicious, evil attempt to collect a debt just occurred with me as well. I'll be honest, it rocked my world as they reached me at work and they claimed I was facing THREE FELONY CHARGES and that I would be arrested in the afternoon! I called my State Attorneys Office and they said it is unscroupulous/threatening  means to collect an old debt and that the STATE would not represent these cases.

I got a call today (3/7/12) from these #'s 202-241-1440, 954-323-3995, 954-284-6049.  They are all working together with the scare tactic that they have 2 affidavits against me and were calling on
behalf of 1st National Bank fraud division & even gave me a case #.  One of the 954 #'s said they were Nancy Bradley & Associates.  All from NSF checks from 2007 from a bank I never banked with for 0ver $1,200.  If I didn't take care of it immediately I would be arrested and it would cost over $8000 to get out of the mess,
They said they would email me proof, but haven"t yet.  They said they would call me later.  When I hung up on the 1st #, he left me a threatening message to turn me over to some state officials & said his name was Robert Beano or something like that.  After I listen to the second caller, I started looking for the phone number"s online and confirmed this was a scam.

A message was left saying that they were calling on behalf of 1st Federal National Bank in the fraud division, about a bad check.  They also said that they have 2 affidavits against the person that they called about. Since they left the message for no one at this number, I felt that I could post this.  I looked up to see if there is even a bank with this name in Florida and there is not.  There are simular banks, but not this one, so I think that it must be a collection company impersonating a bank.  Good luck to all who get a call from this number.  Maybe do a reverse lookup.
