I wish these calls would stop.  I have more important things to do than answer the phone when these ppl call.  The FCC should do more to help stop these ppl.

This number, 954-440-7820, calls my cell phone number, during my 'limited minutes' time and during my work hours.  I keep my phone on for emergency family calls so do NOT appreciate this invasion.

I called the number back and it had a long automated message (sounding like people were joining a conference) and one by one each person had a testimony for this program of some sort.

I picked up the phone and it was a prerecorded message that said something along the lines of... "Let me ask you a question. What if I told you that you could be making a 5 figure income in less than 30 days? We have a conference call starting right now and..." I hung up at that point.

You cannot block a spoofed number because the number on your caller ID is not the actual number they are calling from; plus they can just change it to anything they want and keep calling you.  Spoofing needs to be illegalized because it negates the Do Not Call list.

While I agree with you for the most part, I do take exception to the dnc being worthless. It was never meant to do what everyone seems to think it should. Thats not the purpose.Its very misunderstood. Its a database for the authority's that we fill out.  Its only going to keep honest business honest. It won't stop the illegal telemarketers, they don't care about laws anyway, just sales. It won't stop criminals either (scams, extortion, computer hackers)  however, it does help bring them to justice although its slow. Some of these jerks are in foreign country's and thats a case where they have to co-operate with the US to take down. But it does happen! Most of the misconception is wrapped around the fact they still get calls from Charity's, political calls and surveys which are exempt. (which probably should not be MO - I don't like them either)  However, most of the legit ones will remove you when asked to do so and place you on a internal DNC list.  There's also a Political DNC list now that has worked well for me:

This board is simply a sounding board for people to vent and inform others of scam telemarketing calls they receive.  There is no authority associated with the 800notes site to stop these callers.  In order for people to collectively stop these type calls they must act together - and TAKE ACTION!.  It doesn?t do any good to complain about a caller on this board unless you then take the next step and do something about it!  And never, never, ever engage the caller or call back the number.  The false robo callers will then capture your number as a ?live one? and use it over and over and sell it to other scammers.
The DO NOT CALL list is worthless, they do not act on anything, just build a database of numbers.
In order to do something to help stop these type calls, everyone - EVERYONE needs to file an online complaint directly with the FCC.  If they receive enough complaints about a particular number - they will act on it.  Do it today and pass along the info:

This is an illegal gifting scam. I'm getting calls from all over the country for the same bogus nonsense.

I listened to some of it and I concluded it's definitely a pyramid scam.  They are asking to invested as much as $3,500.00.  They belong behind bars and should not be allowed to make such calls.

Number called my cell, didn't recognize the number so it went to vm. No message left, and now I know why.

Called the number and listened to the recorded message to try and see what the name of their money making scheme is but it took forever (over 10 minutes of listening) and they never did get to the point so I had to hang up.
