The also call from 205-954-454-2554

My wife filled out an entry at Wold dear expo for a vacation.  These guys call up and say you won!!  Yea right after listing off all this great stuff, they ask for your credit card.  I say well If I won why do you need my credit card.  Oh for the 600 per person going on the vacation!

What, you said I just won,  and you want me to pay.  Um yes you have to pay taxes on your winnings.  I said ok whats the other part of the deal.  Turns out they are a time share.  Oh yes right I want a time share visit like I need a hole in my head.

It is a rip off, if you win something you pay taxes to the feds at tax time.  You don't pay taxes to these bunch of rip off guys.  Also get the name of that hotel your going and look at tripadvisor.com  that should tell you everything you want to know.

They called me several times.   All the want to do is load your credit card up, and rip you off.

Prank Call
If it sounds "To Good To Be True", well, "IT IS"

I also got a call this morning. 954-454-0675, from "Universal Getaway".  A lady name Susan was REALLY nice and told me all these nice package I've WON from "DISCOVER THE DINOSAURS" in Memphis last year.  I remember fill out someting so I kept listening.  All that she's promise me was too good to be true, so I told her, and she could not give me something better than "I get that a lot".  Well, I just heard a voice in my head said "if it's too good to be true, it probably is" so I Google "Universal Getaways" and found this site.  I'm SO glad.  She was so nice to know I might need to fly to FL and Vagas, so she transfer me to "Mark", airfare specialist for 'buy-one-get-one-free" bonus. As he was going over the detail, I was reading all the comments.  As soon as he said "we accept MC, Visa,.." I hung up...lol....  THANKS ALL... by the way, I'm STOPPING filling anymore drawings...  rather safe than sorry.

"The Discover the Dinosaurs" show should be renamed "Discover the Scam" The promoter for this event should be ashamed to have this scam running in a family event. Obviously they are making money off misleading people. I read a post of someone who is nearly homeless that made a purchase with this company because they never ""win"" anything and felt this was a dream come true. After being told that they would only have to pay the hotel taxes their card was charged $698.00 dollars.(Saw other posts online that their selling it for as low as $198.00 dollars) They called to get the money back so they could pay their rent and were told the day after purchase they couldn't get a refund. That is a shame. I did let that person know they can call their Credit Card company to initiate a Charge back dispute and they will get their money back easily being that it is an over the phone transaction. I'd like to start a petition to contact the event promoter of this scam and hopefully stop this company from practicing deceptive trade practices. More information on the company Universal Getaways is not the legal name, it is Magical Dream Escapes 1025 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd., #11, Hallandale Beach, FL 33009-4478. Which has an F rating with the South Florida BBB reason for name change I'm sure. The main number I believe is (954) 587-0595. The Show promoter of ""Discover The Dinosaurs"" needs to shut this booth down at their event so future hard working families wont fall victim to this shameless practice. And with enough complaints I'm sure it will happen for the sake of the integrity of the show."" If you go to Orlando or any resort destination you can tour these properties for free lol. Your basically paying a middle man to charge you for paper work. These Resorts pay these people money when you tour. Its advertising at its lowest. You can walk into any Dennys in Orlando and get 4 nights at a hotel and theme park tickets at no cost for doing a tour. Why Pay?

Received calls from 954-454-4218, 954-454-2554, 954-455-8643. The latter two were missed calls. The first one I answered. They claimed to be from Universal Getaways. Stated that I won a trip to Disney after I entered a contest a Discover the Dinosaurs event in Columbus OH. She said her name was Alissa Wolfe. Stated that she wanted to go over the "details" and offered up even more packages. I knew this was a scam, but I wanted to see what they were about. She had my general info....age, married......but when she started talking about registering, I told her that I wasn't going to be doing anything today. She then asked me if I was willing to give up my "winning the prize" to someone else. I said yes. She seemed upset, said fine, and hung up.

I doubt this is a true scam so much as high pressure sales. They did use deception and BS to get their foot in the door so to speak. These people are why most people loath salesmen. Why couldn't they be upfront and just say that they have good deals and such? They seem to be trying to convince people to buy stuff they cannot normally afford. I don't appreciate the deception. Companies shouldn't exist like that. My recommendation is to not buy their products even if interested. It is like buying stuff from spam emails. Want to know who to blame for BS like this? I just got the same call from the same company. Two different numbers tried to call me (954-454-4218 and 954-454-0675). They were from Multivication getaways, said their name was Marcus Smith in the notification department and wanted to verify some info. Asked what credit card we used, my age, everything that was on the entry ticket. My phone lost signal and they never tried to call me back. Explained that I would get a trip to Cocoa beach or Daytona Beach with a cruise to the Bahamas.  I called back and they just answer with good morning notification dept. - no company name, no personal name, nothing!

I jsut recieved a call from the same company stating that I had entered a contest this past weekend at the Memphis hunting expo.  they had my information as far as my name, phone number and occupation.   I did attend the expo the past weekend so it seemed legit until i started asking questions about the amount I had to pay up front and why.  Then the "manager" got on the phone giving me a bunch of legal jargon about the phone call was being recorded so there would be a record of everything stated on the call.  I then pointed out that I have no copy of that recording so I still did not feel comfortable.  then he got very rude, talking down to me about not understanding this oppurtunity and that he felt sorry for me.  I hung up.

Ok, received a call, too. Yes I did enter a sweepstakes and a local fair. Afterwards I read the small print and didn't like what I read. So when they called me I already had my guard up. I asked for a phone number that I could call them back on and they did everything but that. It's all a scam.

I think I actually did enter a vacation raffle last summer at a festival. So when they called me last week, I didn't hang up right away. I actually thought maybe I'd won. Then they started asking for credit card info. I said, just send me a write-up in the mail. The woman got annoyed. She said if you hang up, you lose the vacation and they would have to give it to someone else.

Really? Then why are you still calling my house every day, idiots?

I can't believe it! I also received a call from this people from American Getaway, the woman was like CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'RE A WINNER!! and then spoke like a thousand words per minutes.

She offered me 2 Park Hooper tickets for Universal Studios!!.  Supposedly they got my info from an event that I went a year ago and told me they will pay up to $5,000 in expenses.  Well I asked them to call me a week later and did some internet research on them.

So, when they called me today and I told them that I was not interested, THE WOMAN GOT MAD! She was like: You're not interested in a "Royal Caribean Cruise to the Bahamas?" (wait a minute...wasn't it 2 tickets to Universal Studios????...LOL).  I told her NO, so she went: Oh we paid up to 5,000 in expenses, Its OK, I'll pass it along to the next person...and hang up!

Thanks to everybody that post their past experience...

The phone number from where they called was 954-458-0276

I have been getting these calls everyday this week.  I tried calling back and kept getting the busy signal... until tonight!
The guy answered with "uh, hullo. Who is this?"  Really professional, right?
I was mildly entertained by the offer and the sincerity of the ticket booking agent.  "I understand you are skeptical, but I assure you this is a great deal!"
He sent me an email with some more information to show me that it is legit.  He also asked me to go through the nyse.com site for the link the the BlueGreen official website, so I could see that he must work there since it is a legitimate company!  It went on for twenty minutes or so, just because I know it messes up his call count and I was bored.  I asked him who, exactly, this offer was through and he said Universal Studios on behalf of BlueGreen.  I then asked him why would Universal be offering such a magnificent package that we are supposed to take on faith is real but they didn't bother giving you an email address from their own domain? Instead you got saddled with a generic Americangetaways2@comcast? Anyways: Obvious Scam Don't Fall For It!!!

I have gotten these phone calls every day at night for the past week. My husband answered it and he talked to the guy about our free trip to Florida which he said I won at the Home Show but I never filled anything out for a trip. He said that he was going to give us figures for the trip and then it went to a busy signal which is what you  get when you call back. I haven't picked up the phone for this but I will definitely be getting nasty and I will tell them to send me all of the information in the mail and I will get back to them. The converstaion stopped when he said he was going to calculate the figures. I want to know where he got my name and phone number because I know that Florida does much better bisiness than this and no one is getting my personal info over the phone.

We were able to get ALL of your money back from these lowlifes. I would like to thank Rich from http://boakes.org/amerivacation-cancel/ for making a blog on how to cancel a travel certificate. What I did was called my credit card to dispute the charge. Then I got the address from my credit card company (Which was a different address?s where they called me from) So I send 3 certified letters to all 3 address using Rich?s template. Well what do you know I got the mail return slip that they signed for my letter on Sep 8th and on Sep 11th I got my refund. The funny thing is that the travel certificate came in the mail the same day the green card came back to me that they signed for my letter. Thanks everyone hope all goes as well for you.
