contact your state attorney's office of local police department. Lastly, contact the post office. This is mail fraud as well. I hope you can get your money.

Anyone asking you for your ID through the mail should send off all your alarm bells. When you post a cash bond, or any bond, you can get it returned through the court after the case is completed. NEVER and I mean NEVER give out your personal information via mail or over the phone to someone or any company you are not 100% sure of. This is phishing for identity theft. I just got one of these in mail. I'm doing what all of you should do - toss it in the garbage.

The check was not signed and it stated FFRC Collection Inc. in Fort Lauderdale at a different address when I google it and Tri County Service inc. poped up. That was not the county I posted it. I contact them and they told me to send the check back.

I also received a letter from Tri County Refund Service with 2 forms to be filled out and notorized and a self addressed stamped envelope. The enclosed letter refers to a CASH bond of $100, which I never posted, andon the "assignment form" the last sentence reads "I hearby assign all rights in this Bond to Tri County Refund Service. I pulled up their web page and the small amount of information was vague and ambiguous. I've always been of the belief that when it comes to money any offer of what appears to be free money, and sounds too good to be true usually is too good to be true. I will not pursue this any further, instead I'll wait to see if they contact me again within the 60 day period I have to return the enclosed forms and picture I.D. After all they refer to people they recover Bond money for as "Clients". My experience has been that clients typically pay a fee for services when money changes hands. I don't want to find out that I owe this company any amount of money over and above the amount retrieved. The small print, with the * at the bottom of the letter states that the actual amount can vary from $63 to $97 depending on any unpaid court costs, fines, criminal obligations and processing fees. Still doesn't sound bad, but I NEVER POSTED A $100 CASH BOND.

I mailed my passport cause I was skeptical about sending my state id and got a check within 2 months but I didn't get my full amount. it was some dollars short cause of dam court fees from broward county, but these people cant give me a break down of my fees!!!

scam ... didn't post a cash bond. Bail bondsman through credit card means state never had money that can now refund. This place is looking for you to send your personal info. Dude who answers the phone is very disciplined about not directly responding to questions seeking to verify the service. He reverts back to non-responsive dissertation about the counties the company deals with, or about the "normal" process as to why someone would be receiving their scam letter. It's kind of clever, and most certainly fools a fair amount of unsophisticated people. These people are scammers.

This is a collection agency and just a cute way for you to confirm where you actually live by getting the photo ID. This is probably your drivers license so they wil have you confirming, via the notary, your current address.Bunch of BS

Follow this link to get the refund yourself. Don't let them take a large portion of the money you are owed by assigning your rights to them.

I received a letter from the same company and it doesn't look legit at all.
tammy 2012-10-24 07:39:15 Unknown
I got the same letter but i got my refund already. Is it saying that the information was lost and I could get more money. Im not sure about this. It does sound like a scam to me.
James 2012-10-19 14:49:12 Unknown
I received a similar letter in the end of Sept. I sent in my claim form and received a check about 2 weeks later.
Just thought I would give my input.
Cayla 2012-08-21 11:07:52 Unknown
Does anyone know who this is?
BELLADOLI 2012-08-20 17:34:14 Unknown
I too received a letter, but no explanation as to why I was getting 'a refund'; just stated State of Florida (where I lived, eight years ago, for 15 years). I've not bailed anyone out and have no idea...So I called, got an answering machine and left my name and #, so we'll see...
stephanie 2012-08-02 17:58:11 Unknown
Ok so now I feel real stupid because I called and talked to somebody after I got the letter and I did send my info. once I saw this I called and got no answer so what should I do next??? How do you know this guy is a fraud do you have his information??? Any information could help especially if he tries to steal my identity or something!! I guess I should have googled this place before I sent out my information.
jmiller 2012-05-30 21:15:02 Unknown
This is a slimeball, trying to steal identies and assets. If someone has a check for you, they send it. The street address is not a business. The business name is not registered in Florida, anywhere. He wants your ID for identity theft. Did he ask for a notarized power of attorney as well? This is so he can clean out your bank account and take any assets in your name. This turd is guilty of mail fraud and identity theft and needs to go to prison. I am not sure what public records he is accessing to find potential victims - any chance you received a settlement lately? Please contact the Florida Attorney General's office, perhaps they can help put this thief away.

I received a letter from the same company and it doesn't look legit at all. I did post bond for someone a year and a half ago for $500 and his charges were dropped so there was nothing outstanding, the letter says the refund is for $364 which doesn't add up. Also the letter does not say what this deposit refund is for, it asks me to send them a copy of my license etc... It doesn't sound very legit.

Just received mail from Tri County Refund Services
101 ne 3rd ave suite 1500
Fort lauderdale, fl 33301
800-936-5769
Refund check notice
Saying that they want to retune posted bond. The guy did not appear at court, so it looks too unreal.
Any ideas?
