They have called me 3 times in the last 2 days. They are trying to talk you into getting an online degree.. Recently I saw an ad online for a free sample Estee Lauder lip gloss offered by CoolSavings.com. Free, my butt. The majority of the registration was filling out offers you might be intrested in. The whole thing took about a half hour, and by the time I was done I didn't want the stupid thing anyways. Point being, Dont
ever give your phone # online to anyone.

I dont get it, where are they getting our numbers from?

I have also received the same phone call form the same number, as my son said some "dude" called wanting to talk to me. Im sure its from some online registration which i screwed up and filled out and now i'm receiving all of these off the wall phone calls and to top it off, I was going over my home phone bill and was billed almost $50 in charges for voice mail service, credit history report and other things..... everyone beware.... the scammin' a** holes are out to get us!!

I am getting calls from this number and i have told them to stop calling and they will not what should i do?

this is the first time they called my cell phone. Lately i've have alot of weird numbers call. I never answer tho. and they usually dont call back.

I received a call from this number at 11:20 pm ET on my cell. I let it ring since I have voice mail. The caller left no message. Annoying people and obviously whatever they want to sell is worthless if they don't have the decency to leave a message after calling at such a late hour.

Someone else has signed me up on a webform to recieve phone calls like this one. Was able to get their email and Ip address by asking the people calling me about it. Have files complaints with FTC and local law inforcement. And working with Comcast's security assurance dept to track down the scum bag doing this.

They call tooooooooo many times a day, all day and never leave a message

This number has called me twice a day every day for the last week and a half.

same. they don't leave a message though. i just don't answer them cus i know i don't know anyone with that area code.

This number calls several times a day and leaves no message. It disconnects as soon as the ans. machine comes on. I have heard that these 'drive by' callers are from automatic dialers, operated by companies whose computer records the date and time of the call, and whether or not you pick up the phone. They keep track of the time you appear to be home, and when you appear to be away. They sell your number to telemarketers & collection agencies along with information that indicates the best time to call you. What's scary, is the lists indicate when no one is at home as well, and could make your home a target for criminals, or anyone who just wants to keep tabs on you. Anyone who can afford to can buy those lists.

I always screen my calls with the answering machine. That way no stranger knows when I am home, and when I'm not. I pick up when I know the person on the other end.

Got a call some time back from this number. I didn't recognize the number so I did not answer. No message was left. And Jon is right. This stupid Do Not Call list is just something the lobbyists have thrown in our face to try and keep us quiet.

this number has taken an assault on me for about a week. i don't answer, cause i just figure if it is important, they will call back. i did reverse the number, no name but is a land line in boca raton, fl. does anyone know how to have calls auto blocked on cell phones?

I got 2 calls from them in 30 minutes. I called back and it was the National Education Center or something like that.

Just got a call from this number. Answered it and there was no one on the other end, then it disconnected. I called right back and got some automated message saying all lines were busy. Hmmm.

Called me at 8:44pm last night.  They're blacklisted on my CallStation phone system software now - it automatically hangs up every time after it recognizes the number. If you leave your phone ringer on you will hear one  or two rings though (depends on how long for caller ID to recognize). You need caller ID and an internal modem, and the software costs a one time $35 - you have a free 30-day trial before purchasing anything (you don't enter CC info until you want to buy, if you want to buy). Reference www.imptec.com/callstation.htm. I turn my phone ringer off, and have the incoming calls ring through my computer. Then I mark as priority only those calls I want to hear the ringing when they call, and then set the system to "do not disturb." The do not disturb function only rings those callers with numbers identified as priority. The software is very versatile, and allows for an unlimited amount of personal greetings too. My buddies wonder WTF when they call and the phone answers with their name.

I also have gotten about 60 calls from 408-387-6587 too. That's another one of those auto calling machines.

And btw, I am on the Do Not Call list. It does not work - I think it was set up just to appease all of us complaining about phone solicitors, but apparently the phone lobbyists have a louder voice than we do (and more money).

I got a call from this number 954-623-7168 on 8-19 at 8:20PM. I didn't recognize the number so I did not answer.

I have gotten a couple of missed calls from this number and i ignore it because it was a number i did not recognize.  The calls were made at a time between 7:30pm and 8pm but only one call was made per week.  Another call was mad 7 days later around the same time.  The area code is somewhere from florida?

I just got a phone call at 9:20 in the morning from this number: 954-623-7168. I answered and it the phone crackled like it didn't have service and then I heard some lady saying hello? like a million times so I hung up... What's that number???

Received a call a few minutes ago.

Me: Hello?

Telemarketer: Hello is Ryan there? (My name is not ryan)

Me: No, and I'd like you to take this number off of your companies calling list.

Telemarketer: You're not interested in going to school. (Her tone pissed me off but I remained as calm as I could)

Me: Ma'am I'm not Ryan, and I'm already going to school. Ryan, assuming he is a real person gave whatever survey you got this number from a fake phone number, he gave you MY phone number and I'd like you to take it-

Telemarketer: Okay, well all you had to say was wrong number. (she begins to hang up)

Me: No! Don't hang up! I want my number (She's gone)



Frankly, I think we all need to write our legislators and outlaw telemarketing. The assault I got a few days ago 10 calls in half an hour from different numbers and nearly 30 calls in that day is absolutely ridiculous.
