Hi,

I had the same scenario just yesterday.

I got a call from a person called "Heather Davis" from "Inside Business Report" wanting to do a story on "Medical Tourism" which would be shown on CNN.  It was all pretty believeable except that so they could get a true "partnership" going the cost of the segment would be $29,500.  Over a period of a week or so I got phone calls from more and more important people.  Because I am in another country I didn't know who all these supposedly famous people were but started to smell a rat.  Yesterday I had a 30 minute phone call from the "Associate Producer" which made me a bit more suspicious because it seemed that he had not read my briefing information very well.  I have since googled their names with "scam" and come up with quite a lot of associated scams with similar stories off different phone numbers.

I became suspicious when the website looked a bit amateur, and when I could not load information directly onto their web-document. And then I could not understand why they, as a "news" article had to buy the segments on TV channels.

Similar calls have been recorded on the number 1-954-461-2175

The names I had were "Susan Eisner"
Offices of "Anthony DiMeglio"
Programme "The Art of Living"
"Inside business report"
"George Davis"
"Heather Davis"

Here's some of their email to me:
We are finalizing the scheduling for ?The Art of Living? with Marilu Henner, and more specifically, our segments for the 2010 season. We are considering Medical Tourism-XXX (I've removed the country) for a five (5) minute segment on topics, trends and issues related to ?Focus on Medical Tourism? in our "Global Healthcare" series

This segment will air one (1) time nationally on Discovery Channel, one (1) time nationally on Travel Channel and thirty (30) times regionally on CNN Headline News through regional cable operators and/or Regional News Networks  in many of the top 100 markets nationwide based on viewer demographics, interests and distribution checklist. As discussed, The Art of Living and its programs have no direct affiliation with the networks on which they air.

$29,700 USD is the total scheduling fee. Keep in mind, the Senior Producer will have some additional questions prior to final scheduling of this segment.

The Senior Producer I will contact you on Thursday, December 3rd at 5:00 p.m. EST.

My company had some recent publicity. Suddenly I got an e-mail from a supposed television producer wanting to do a news segment on us. When I called, I was told I had to pay a $19,000+ "booking fee" which would ensure we were serious about production. I was told Fred Thompson (yes, the TV star) would be involved, and that the my segment would air on national TV, including CNN. This, instead, is a video production company from Florida who "airs" their "programs" on some obscure cable channels that no one will ever see. Check out the website at the end of the e-mail I got: "I am the assistant to George Davis, Associate Producer of the television series 'Inside Business Report.' We are currently working on an upcoming segment on 'Leading Developments in Mobile Workforce Management,' and it will be included in our 'Report on Technology Series.' Mr. Davis and his team are responsible for determining the most appropriate content for programming based on our editorial calendar and he would like to arrange a time to speak with you. The segment relates to industry trends and how they are helping to address these specific trends. Please call or email me to let me know when you would be available to speak via teleconference. In the meantime feel free to visit the show?s website at www.ibreporttv.com Regards, Heather Davis, 954-671-1081 www.ibreporttv.com
