Scam.  Even if it had been legit at one time, it's way past the statute of limitations, and you wouldn't be responsible for it anyhow, unless you had cosigned something.  In the US, debt is civil, not criminal, so no "marshall", police officer or FBI agent would be after you.  Nor could they seize anything to pay it back.  These scammers are darned stupid, but I suppose that's good for us.  The lies are so obvious it's hard not to laugh at them.

Hang up on them if they call back.  

Or, even better, blow a whistle in their ear.

I revcieved the same call. This time they stated my father who died 9yrs ago owed $3000 to some loan company. 9yrs later they want it back. A "marshall" called stating he had court order and provided a number to a lawyer 212-643-0215 micheal shanon. they said they would come and repo what we have to pay off the dept. never showed, we filed a police report. whatever you do dont give personal info, ask for the name of whom ever is calling you, a number where your lawyer can contact them and the judge who issued the "court order".

This is very true,DO NOT CALL that number and say what she said that you will have your lawyer there when "they come" and an officer. What they said to me was I am an officer. I told them I didn't care to come and they can talk to my lawyer and the officers. Good luck and Don't fall for this SCAM!!!

this number called us and presented themselves as an officer first of all its against the law to impersonate a lawenforcement and then they said that they had on order to reposes our belongings after that they gave us another number to call with a case number to get the rest of the information from a lawyer the number was 212-643-0163 and they said that they needed my address thats when i knew it was a scam why if you a lawyer u asking me for my information and then say that they the ones that ask the questions i had to listen. They claimed they were going to break down my door take our things like really are they serious? Then he made the mistake of calling from his cell phone and say i was someone else to stop lying they never called back after we said we were callig the cops and reporting their numbers to real lawenforcement these peolpe are retarted do not give them your information becuase thats how they get you they want you to tell them you personal information to screw you over do not believe them and tell them you going to report them they will leave you alone.
