Call my number ask if I was ..... and then hang up.

A male caller asked me if Iwas ..... and then hung up

I received a call from 954 6927600. I said "hello" and waited for the other person to say something, no one said anything! After 5 seconds with no response I hung up..I'm ticked off!

Got the same call again today, Saturday September 27, 2008..same thing happened: after the initial hello and no one answering I hung up. I then called them back and got a machine saying something about the police, yada, yada. I am blocking their number, hopefully it will help.

I've called ATT and they cannot give me any info on this #

Rang three times and when I answered, they were not on line

I have received 6 calls from 954 6927600 and you can't call back to that number, they don't leave messages and when answering they don't talk, I wonder if it is intended to increase the calls and charges in my celular bill.

Its a telemarketing service. If you pick up a computer automatically puts you on a caller list for future calling

has called three times in the last two days. when we havent answered, they dont leave a message. the one time we answered, they hung up when we said we couldnt hear them clearly.

I get a call from them once at day at least.  No answer when I pick up, no message when I don't pick up.

i just got the call also. it sounded more like a guy that was on some sort of drug. definitely not professional. asked for my father by first name and when i asked who it was, he just said, 'alright i'll try again later, goodbye'

CALLED AND WAS VERY RUDE

they call after reasonable hours and won't explain what they want they ask for you by name You get a busy when you call them back and they hang up if you identify yourself.

Cant anyone stop them.

This number calls my house 3 times a day for the last month and when my answering machine picks up - the message left is just static everytime. The call comes through as "Penbroke Pines" (city in South Florida) and when I call it back, a recording comes on and says, "16A2 channel 13" over and over. When I try to block this number, AT&T services says it's unblockable....urghhhhh, WTF? Does anyone know what else can be done about this...AT&T offers NO help with this situation at all.

Number repeatly calls my cell.

This number on id this week.Did not recognize and did not p/u.Have had calls from FOOP before.I tell them I'm on the no call list.

I also received one of those calls earlier today at my home number. They asked for me but I was not here when they called. Once they called my cellphone too and did not want to participate. they have attitude if you don't help them.

I called it back and it is DISTRICT 5 OF THE FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE.

They are the fraternal order of police, which is a fake charity. The callers get paid from the "donations" they steal from unknowing people over the phone. The have called my home, using three different numbers and called ID names NO LESS THAN 300 TIMES in the last 6 months!! Being on the do not call list has no effect. Answering the phone and asking to be removed from the list will have the opposite effect, as they will know it's a number where someone answers and you will be placed back into the calling Que. Having an unlisted number will have no effect ( mine is unlisted ). You MUST look at caller ID each and every time the phone rings and only answer calls from numbers you know..  if you never pick up when these callers call eventually you should be removed as a dead number.. it's been 6 months and the calls are still coming but sooner or later they will give up and move on.

Law enforcement organizations don't solicit by phone.
In fact, they rarely solicit at all.
These are usually, as someone else stated, "lodges" that have nothing whatsoever to do with law enforcement agencies.

The "Fire/Police/State Trooper Donation" thing is a nationally-known scam.  And certainly NOT non-profit.

This number called my place of business.  Only asking for my first name.  He said his name was Mark Waters. I see someone else has stated Frat of Police.  I have recieved this call at my house as well.  I believe it is a police organization trying to collect donations.

Calls and does not leave message

called, i didnt pick up....been getting calls from different police orgs for the last week.  I politely ask them to take our name from the list - doesnt seem to be working

I received a phone call from this number but they did not leave a message.
I hate the fact that they give attitude when you are polite and tell them you are not interested. How do you get them to stop?
