The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

Called did not leave message we are on the DO NOT call registry obviously it does not work

This is an annoying thing to be sure, but how would you like it if you got this call and they started out by saying, "I just drove by the cemetery and your husband's casket is sitting on top of the ground," - especially only 4 months after you lost your husband?!  I did not get this call, but my grandmother did.  I am beyond mad about this and want to do something.  It's unfair that they can get away with this.  I am glad that my parents and sister were there when Grandmother got the call because it almost made her sick and she almost went into shock.  We have got to change the ways these people/companies work!  I'll do whatever I can to stop them.

By now, everyone should have figured out that the FTC
DO NOT CALL LIST [so-called] IS JUST A BIG JOKE.  
However, everyone should keep filing their complaints,
and to keep their own respective log regarding same.

I keep a separate TEXT FILE named for each and every
number I receive these damned calls from, and then to
just add to it, most recent call at the top.

Nothing is going to happen on this, unless "EVERYONE"
continually bombards the FBI, your CONGRESSMAN,
your LOCAL TV NEWS, any and all NEWSPAPERS, etc.
I have been doing this myself, but will not continue to
be the only one doing it.  Strongly suspect that at least
the FBI has now "black-balled" my email name.  Either
that, or they simply responnd as "NOT READ," just as my

I came to this page 3-4 days ago and filed a report about this number. At that time there were four pages of comments. Now my report is gone and there's only one page. I came here today to post a followup, but I see there's no point. I won't bother to use this site again.

Call from this number about "Free" information about my funeral.  Is the word Free supposed to set my heart a flutter?  I can get free infromation from all of the funeral homes in my area.  They claim that they are not telemarketers but they are because in the end they are selling a service.  I have reported many, many, many of these kinds of calls, but they still continue to call.  Yes, I am on the don't call list.  I will report EVERY one of these calls I get to the Attorney General of my state as well as the FTC.  Perhaps they need to go after the companies that provide the relay call service since it seems that no one can stop them.  True, if no one buys then the calls should stop.  I don't spend money over the phone, I refuse to give any information of any kind.  I do report all calls to authorities.  And when they ask me who I am I ask them who in the hell are you, you are the one that called me.  They hang up.

Got a call from this number (954) 707-4608 at 5 PM  10/2/2012.  Got a recorded message that said something about a funeral company.  I filed a complaint with the FTC.

I received this call at 7:36am which is illegal for collection calls. I get collection calls for people I don't know and have asked to take my number off their books. I think they just pass the account on to another company and they call me. Very annoying. I tried calling 954 707 4608 and I get a busy signal....wish they would stop calling and waking me up....I'm going to call our Attorney General and see if anything can be done with these people!

I don't know anyone from this area so I decide to report it.

800Notes is not a clearinghouse to stop unwanted calls. You will have to be proactive and do this yourself. That includes filing complaints with the FCC: http://www.fcc.gov/complaints and contacting your telecommunications provider for assistance with blocking the number.

PS--It is not a good idea to post your personal indentifying information on a public website. You may have just opened the door to receiving even more spam calls.

I am getting calls from 954-707-4608.  It rings twice.  When i pick it up it is dead silence.  When i have called it back, it is always busy.  Can you stop this?

I answered the phone and a recording came on about funeral insurance information.  I hung up.

Caller ID showed "Fort Lauderd   FL"  No name (I didn't answer) No message.  It's now blocked.

Oh and by the way, all legitimate respectable companies/organizations will state who they are, who they represent, and a call back number. Plus, caller ID would not say Wireless Caller. Folks, the signs are easy, know them. These people are criminals.

THe caller ID is spoofed/fake.

People, criminal telemarketing scams are on the rise. Robo calls are illegal. PERIOD. So if you get a robo call from a random caller, you dont even have to guess, they are criminals.

All these criminals want is your credit card and personal identifiable information. All the calls are the same, weird unwarranted random phone call, all robo or computerized call/dialing. They always want you to press a number (never press any number, even to be removed) which fowards your call to a criminal operation center where low-life scum work to steal. The number always is out of area and the caller ID should ALWAYS be a dead give away if the number doesnt.

Seriously folks. Telemarketing scams are on the rise. Yes, the criminals reads these message boards. Best advice is to ignore the calls, report to the appropriate authorities and warn others. ESPECIALLY THE ELDERLY. You keep getting these calls becuase they work. If you stop people from being scammed by warning others and knowing the signs, you will stop the calls.

I did a reverse number search after receiving a call from this number.  The information given was a wireless phone in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  I do not know anyone from that area.  After reading the above posts, I decided to report it to get calls stopped.
