When I try www.amerpref.com I get a 404 error.

I did a whois lookup on the web page www.amerpref.com for more info and find that the web address is registered to:

The DNC can't protect you from illegal callers. Thats the whole of it, its best to report the calls, and also buy a call blocker. Otherwise it works just fine for what it was meant to be..  at least the honest business's abide by it. Consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Received mail from APR concerning The Wall Street Journal ... I called the Wall Street Journal because our subscription was close to renewal and they told me not to send APR any money.  That was a few years ago.  Since then I have received tons of mail from them for every magazine I subscribe to.  NOW ... TODAY ... They had the nerve to call me .... I told them to never call me again!!!!!!  It's a huge scam!!!!  I checked them out!!!    I'm also on the do not call list ... this list is  pretty useless!!!!

I received a call from this number this morning and didn't pick up and no message was left.  I know that they are American Preferred because they have called in the past and I told them I am on the Do Not Call List.

I got a call from 954 767 6151 the girl was having a private conversation with another rep. I said hello twice and she ignored me so I asked her are you calling me or having a personal conversation; she hung up on me.

I got this call several times with someone saying very loud and rough that I HAD to call the 1888 number he left.  When I called it, it was Mercantile something and it was a collection agency.  We didn't need a collection agency so I think they are just trying to trick us into something.

Caller id said Florida and they must call me at least once a day. When we answer there is never anyone there and if I call the number back it is a busy signal or three rings and then the line goes dead. If we let the answering machine pick up there is never a message or response.

Im having the same issue. I want to know who or what it is. I had this happen to me a couple of years ago and they were stealing my identity. They spent $15,000 in Thailand by the time i figured it out. I now have lifelock so it will not happen again you guys may need to get some kind of protection.

THESE PEOPLE, CALL THEM SCAMMERS, NEED TO STOP CALLING. I AM ON THE DO NOT CALL REGISTRY WHICH MEANS NOTHING TO THESE EFFING PEOPLE. THEY NEED TO STOP, I WORK FOR THE FEDS, AND HAVE REPORTED THEM TO THEM. NEED TO STOP AND GET A LIFE. STOP PREYING ON THE WEAK AND GET A REAL JOB. SCAMMING PEOPLE IS NOT THE WAY.

I got a call from them too - They wanted to know if I was receiving my magazines ok - when I asked which one she said all of them - I asked her not to call this number again.

I just got one of this calls, but the woman was laughing, it was kinda creepy, and then she hung up. If they are a magazine company why would they be making prank calls. If they call again I will report them if it will help. the number they called me from was 954-772-2148

I got a call yesterday from Amer Preferred 954-772-2184 and did not answer as I did not recognize the number.  I got another call today and did pick up.  I was asked if this was --- and lived in ---.  I said "what is this about?" The male on the other end wanted to know if I was getting all of my magazines and if they arrived in good condition.  He said "so you don't need to yell at me for anything?" and I said "no".  He then hung up.  I am also on the Do-Not-Call Registry and it didn't stop them.

I have received several hang-up calls from this number and reported it to my phone comoany and the local police as harassment calls.  I am on the national do not call register, yet I am still getting calls from them.  I suggest you report them to your phone company and local law enforcement also.

I did some research and found it to be www.amerpref.com.  They are a magazine sub company.  Called them at 954-489-2443 and was put on their Do Not Call list.

Just received a call from this number; a woman asked if I was there, and when I said yes, she said "thank you" and then hung up. I've received calls from 954-772-3854, 954-772-3570, 954-772-2184 over the last month as well.

just received a call from this number. A woman tried talking my mom into getting a bunch of "free" magazine subscriptions for 48 months...but they want you to pay a service charge of $3.99 a month.

Same thing. No answer, just silent. Hmm.. is my account being hijacked or something? I heard about prisoners crossing phone lines before and making long distance calls. Hmm...?

Call tonight from similar number (954) 772-3643. I picked up at the same time my son upstairs did.  We both said hello.  No response and they hung up.  I wonder if they want my wife to answer...

Two days in a row got this call.  Didn't pick up and no message left.
