8/11/2007
Received call from same number. Recording announced it was Account Services, and went on to state that my credit card could have a lower interest rate. Also stated this offer was due to expire soon, and that this was a reminder call.
The recording announced that if I pressed 1, I could speak with a representative about my card. (not once was any specific card named)
So, I pressed the number 1, and after about 60 seconds of recorded music, a woman, answered the phone and then promptly hung up. I re-dialed the number and it rang as out of service.
954 area code is from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
I am on the Do Not Call registry, and I filed a complaint.

Exact same experience as Ed, above. I asked the woman the name of her company and she immediately hung up. I filed a complaint on the Do Not Call registry, too.

Received the same call in San Francisco. Answering machine recorded the automated mesg. Being out of state, hopefully federal law enforcement can get involved.

This number calls frequently. Several times I tried to call back and it is a disconnected number. Once I stayed on the line and the person who answered asked if I was more than $25,000 in debt. I asked what company I was talking to and the woman hung up.

I received a call on 8/10 at 1129am, I got the recording about reducing my credit card rate. I did not respond, I figured if it were legitimate they would identify the card company. I hung up.

Because there are so many scams, I have gotten into the habit of "googling" telephone numbers I do not recognize if I feel there is a chance they may be a legitimate caller. ( I have famiy in Fla. ) That is how I found this site. Thanks to everyone for their input. I too am on the Federal no call list and will also file a complaint. After the heads up I called the number and it had been disconnected.

Rec'd call from this number 8/10/07. No one home. Caller ID showed call came from Pompano Beach, Fl. 1-954-876-0982. Probable scam. I was on vacation a week earlier in FL.

Left no message, but number appeared on ID. Since we have friends in that area, tried calling it back (since someone might have changed their #) but got a message that it was disconnected. We are also on the no call list. Who are these guys?

I too got a call from them today. How do you file a complaint-my number is also on the do not call list.

Received call on Sunday morning. It was an automated dialer that said the call was in regards to my existing credit card and to press 1 to reduce your payments. I don't have any credit card debt but pressed 1 to get a real person. She asked if I had more than $x in credit card debt and I politely inquired about their do-not-call policy. She immediately terminated the call My number is registered in the Do-Not-Call lists for both the federal government and my state. I'm not sure if it is a "get your credit card number" scam or a "reduce your payment scam, but in my opinion it is not on the level. Automated dialers are not permissible either. I would not be surprised if this is a bogus caller ID number, as that is easily forged. The callers do not want people to know who is calling.

Same as Nelly above, except I pushed 2 instead, and a voice came on and said that I had been removed. Am concerned - is there a way by pressing 2 that they could have transferred my call to one of those out of the country long distance #'s with high charges?

I received a call from this # they wanted to get my cc # to verify my account had good standing and a certain amt of debt. I told the 'supervisor' that as I did not initiate the call I do not feel comfortable giving this info to her. She tried to get it out of me several other ways and finally got frustrated with me when I asked her for her phone # so she hung up on me. Anyone know if this is a scam like it feels like?

The recording announced that if I pressed 1, I could speak with a representative about my card. (not once was any specific card named)
So, I pressed the number 1, and after about 15 seconds of recorded music, a woman, American accent, spoke rapidly in asking me how she could help me. I think she said her name was Heather. So, I said, "I'm sorry. What did you say your name was?" She then hung up on me.

I am on the Do Not Call registry, and I filed a complaint.
