Called while I was out of the house.  Left no message on Answering Machine!

Got a call from 330-248-4140. I did not answer because I did not recognize the number. They left no message.Decided to check the number before caling back. Glad I did. What can I do to stop these calls ???

I AM A FORMER FIREFIGHTER I WAS AT FIRST TICKED OFF THAT THEY CALLED ME SO I DID SOME CHECKING AND FOUND OUT THAT THE CHARITY DOES GIVE MOST OF WHAT IT GETS LEFT AFTER EXPENSES. I ALSO FOUND OUT THAT IF YOU SEND YOUR DONATION DIRECTLY TO THE CHARITY AND NOT USE THE FUNDRAISER THEN 100% GOES TO THEIR FIREMEN AND WOMEN THEIR PROGRAMS IF THIS HELPS CALL THEIR CORPORATE OFFICE AND SEND YOUR DONATION SO IT GOES TO THE PROGRAMS HOPE THIS HELPS, AND THEY ARE A 501C TAX EXEMPT SO YOU GETA WRITE OFF.

We have rcv'd calls from this number numerous times.
Very annoying, we are listed on the Do No Call List.
I have 5 kids and ends barely meet, maybe I should start
calling and soliciting money, so I don't have to work 2 jobs!!!!!

Happened to me tonight as well, Google led me to here and a few similar sites.  Yahoo search had no clue and no results.

I hate when police and firefighter charites call.  They should dig into thier own pockets instead, will all the overtime pay they get that fleeces the taxpayers.

They called here this morning, but no one picked up and no message.  My grandmother has no one to blame but me, and had yet one more thing to be pissed off about.  I get blamed for everything.

Rec'd call from 330-248-4140 at 8:30am - I answered on third ring, no one there.  What happened to the "do not call list" ???  Enough is enough...

Got a call from 330-248-4140.  The 330 area code is a Summit county area code.  The 248 exchange is normally in Solon, Ohio.  When I answered, there was silence on the other end.

Rcv'd a call from this number, also.
Didn't answer, didn't reconize the phone number.
Listed as an Ohio Call.  I am sure it is a charity call.

They called and my son answered. They refused to identify themselves. Sound like a charity scam fom the entriesd earlier.

The asked for my wife and I by name.  Our older son told them that we could not come to the phone and they hung up.

Got the call at home in the middle of the afternoon.  I picked up after three rings and got silence.

I used my cell phone to call this number once my home phone had been called and hung up upon.  The automated call center said this was a fundraiser for the "Disabled Firefighter's Fund."  Hope this helps, if they call back and I actually get a live person, I'll be sure to thank them for the hang up.

Also received a call from this number, no one was on the other end of the line when I answered the phone by the third ring.  No clue who this is either.

I received a call yesterday from this number. No idea who it is or what they wanted. No message of course. This is the second time this week that they have called. I usually let the answering machine pick up the unidentified calls then Google the number to see where it came from. This site always gives me good information. :)

Yeah I thought it was my hubbys ex she lives up that way I know her cell and home number but I figured she was calling from another phone.

love getting these annoying calls where noone says anything, especially at night. you answer because you dont know who would be calling at 7-8oclock on sunday night,and you worry it might be something important. i do donate to various organizationsand charities. this will not be one of them and if the disabled or the firefighters know that this is happening maybe somehow they will be able to put an end to this, if i find out who this imbecile is i might disable him myself. as always, if you are giving a donation, check with the better business bureau and do not give info and do not verify info over the phone!!!!.

The phone rang, I answered, no one there.  The following day, my wife answered the phone and there was no one there.  Both times the number apppeared on phone ID.

I just got a call also, who the heck is it. Mine says Ohio call. I'm guessing it is telemarketing crap.

I found out non-profit are exempt from national do not call list, so you have to call the charity and ask to be taken off the list, you should call the charity directly not the fundraiser, also during business hours mon-fri. I had no problem having my name removed I gave them my pledge number and name and now 4 months and counting not one call from them, now however this does not stop calls from other charitys from calling you, I assumed that no non profits would call anymore, and my local operator says that is not true just the charity you contacted to have them stop calling.

Have gotten calls from this number a few times in the last week (tonight at 9:04 p.m.!). I didn't answer because I didn't recognize it, but thought maybe it was someone we knew. Thanks for Google!

11:52 a.m. 8/15/07 I received a call no message.  I called the # back and left a message for them to remove me from the list.

I've gotten at least three of these calls in the past month.  This is the first time I Googled it.  I'm on the Do-not-call-list!!  Very frustrating!!

this number called me 8/4 3:14pm Alliance, OH and a woman who claimed to be from the Disabled Firefighters Fund asked for a donation.  While talking to her I googled their fund and saw complaints.  Buh-bye.
