I am afraid I fell for this as well.  Toward the end of the conversation when they were getting ready to call me back and call my credit card company to lower my rate, I got suspicious and hung up.  The guy called back and told me I had better not hang up on him again--I hung up.  Now the phone is ringing every few minutes and it is from the same number:  954-889-7371.

Unfortunately I did give them my credit card number.  This is my 2nd time getting involved in identity theft--when will I learn?  They are slick--don't get caught like I did.

The first person I spoke with had a very thick accent and I had to ask her to repeat things many times.  At the end she said her name was Sandra Smith and her customer service # was 1-877-2838-065 ext. 277.  They knew my current credit card balance--how?  When I checked the number of last incoming call it was 202-459-7122.  She said her supervisor would call me back.

That is when the 954 number called and this was a man.  He gave me a recording number of 1030486.

Keep getting a call from Micheal and Rachel and Amanda stating they will arrest me if I don't pay an old pay day loan - yesterday it was 2 pay day loans.  These have been paid to say the least.  Heavy accent and you can not understand these peop.e  I ahe tried to get them to stop but they continue to call me at home/work/cell wherever they can all hours of the day/night.  They are a scam to say the least.  They represent United Financial Crimes Investigations, etc. and mean business they say.  They threaten me at home and work and it is not pretty.  Can anything be done with these people?

I have just been scammed by the same people. An Indian-sounding male pitched the lowering of my Visa interest rate to 6%. Like a first-class idiot I confirmed the credit card number to him. I then called Visa and they denied any knowledge of this party, and mentioned that a number of Visa customers had complained about the scam.

Visa recommended prompt cancellation of the old card and issued a new one. I filed a report with the Broward County Sheriff's Office because of the 954-889-7371 number. Monday morning I will file a complaint with the FBI, and also contact South Florida newspapers.

The 954-889-7371 number was disconnected when it was called shortly after the false pitch. It appears that this number has been used for about 6 months.

I went to the FBI office today, and they were very interested in this case.  FBI agent took ALL the information I collected.  EVERY ONE contact your FBI office that is close to you.  We all can work together and hopefully the FBI will track these people down.

I had a message on my phone today that this Karen Smith called and said she found out my husband told the bank to cancel.  Apparently she did not take the $900 because she said she was going to turn us in to THEIR collection agency.  She said if we want to talk about this, we could call her back.

I called her back and left a message and told her go ahead and sent us to her collection agency.  In fact I welcomed it.  I told her the FBI will be in contact with her.

So everyone who has dealt with these low lifes, report them, get involved and contact your local FBI.  Together we all possibility can save another person from being taken.  If we don't get involved, then they will continue to do this.   Good Luck!  This time Karen Smith used the phone number (888)826-1162.

My Husband fell for this scam. I tried to stop him, but he gave his information to these people.  It will not be considered fraud because he gave the information.  I had a call from a Karen Smith (954) 889-7371, said she was a supervisor and if I didn't pay, she was going to turn me in to a collection agency.  Try calling her back, and they wouldn't answer the phone.  I don't know what or how I'm going to trace these people down, but I am going to give it a good try.  If we all try to do research, we might find some information to help catch these crooks.  If we don't try, then they will continue to scam innocent people.

I got the same calls from the same numbers, First call 202-459-7122 Juan explained that I qualified for lower intrest rate due to my good history of payments. I fell for it because I had just contacted my Credit Card company about getting my rates lowered two weeks ago. 15 minutes later I got the 2nd call 954-889-7371 from a guy stating that I qualified for 6.9% and that he has charged $900 to my credit card!  I told him I was confused because I thought he was from the credit card company, I asked him if he was with some sort of debit consolidation company, he just said no.  I told him I was not intrested and would not be authorizing any deductions from my credit card.  The man was livid and told me that I had no choice!  I calmly tried to explain that I was miss led by the first call thinking it was the credit card company, and that i was not interested in hiring a third party to represent me.  This man litterly screamed at me and called me stupid,I told him I did not appreciate the way he was talking to me and that i would not ever do business with somone who handled themselves this way. He then said I would be bankrupt by the end of the year, and hung up on me.  i immediatly reported all this to credit card company, who seemed unconcerned, they placed a hold on my credit card (now I cant even use it), then tried to sell me idenity theft protection, (I almost wondered if they were working together on this scam).  I hope this is over and nothing else happens.

I recieved a phone call from 954-889-7371 and the person offered to reduce my interest.  I provided them with my 4 credit cards numbers and they stated they would call me back to see what I qualifed for.  The person called back stated I qualifed for a 6% interest rate and they would charge my card for a one time fee of $900.  I told them never mind and to take me out of their system.  The man began to curse me out and state I was an idiot and just scammed.

The other number they called me from is 2024597122.  The man stated they were from Financial Consulting Services and the phone number the man gave me was 877- 283-8065 ext 211

FRAUD
My mother was on the phone with these people and she's smiling and telling me that she's going to have her interest rates decreased. That sounded alright until the call got dropped and I told her that I hoped she hadn't given any personal information out. She told me,"just the credit card numbers" and so alarms start going off in my head but I'm keeping cool.
Then the Supervisor calls back. What a total loser. He tells my mother that he's already charged her cards $600 to decrease her interest rates. So, since the previous person she had talked to had failed to mention a fee whatsoever, she flips out on the guy and tells him that he's dishonest and to never call again and hangs up.
So he calls back. I pick up and try to keep cool. This guy has the audacity to tell me to "tame my mother" He tells me that we're enemies and that he has so much power and that I don't know who I'm messing with. He tells me that he's going to "mail me a whip to tame my mother." I mean, this guy was on a power trip and must have been completely insane. He must have been the rudest guy I have ever spoken with.
Complete  Fraud. Don't fall for it.

I rec call today from 1-877-327-4865 x245 - offering to lower my interest rates on my cards- I also "confirmed" my credit card numbers as well as last 4 ss # - I wanted to kick myself as I felt my gut churning as I was giving the info...15 mins later I rec a call from 954 area code explaining there would be a 900 charge on 1 card but would save me 1000's - i explained I could not afford the 900 so I did not want the "offer" - he became aggrivated with me - I am trying to find out through the BBB if i can send a complaint - My concern is that within the 15 mins maybe they were able to pull up my credit report and now can steel my ID ??  Im scared at this point - cancelling cards I gave and thinking about calling about the others not given as well...

Have you people lost your minds?  No bank of financial institution will EVER call and tell you they can lower your interest rate.  If you give out your CC numbers and SS number (heaven forbid) you are in for a rude awakening.  This is a scam of the first order.  Did the person talk with a heavy Hispanic accent?  Yes, the 954 area code is Florida!  Bingo!  I am sorry for the people who lost or are going to lose money to these thieves.  I received this call too and after my boyfriend cussed the man out and called him everything but a white man I got on the line and told him to never call my number again.  The fool called back three times!  I got the number from my called ID and emailed it to my state Attorney General asking him to try and find these people.  May or may not do any good but at least they have been reported.

Unfortunate, I have been or will be scammed. I received a call from 1-202-459-7122 offering to lower my credit card interest rate. Two options were given: 1. press 1 to speak to a representative or 2 to disconinue and not get any more calls. I pressed 1 a person identifying himself as Juan answered. I, of course gave information I should not have( credit card number, but not sure about SSN). Juan gave me a number I could contact him at 1-877-212-3634, ext 217. A few minutes later an account manager called to say he had all my information and could lower my interest, but would charge my credit card $700. I was then I realized I had made a mistake.  I told the person I did not want his services.  He became very indignant when I said I don not what your srevice with statements such as: I'm not offering you a service,I wish I was at my own phone, I'd slam it down, You don't know who you are talking to. I can raise yur interest to 29%, It's people like you who caused the economy to be in the shape that it is in
I immediately called my credit card company and reported it.  Their solution was since no charges had been posted, they would cancel my card and issue another. I then, did a reverse phone nunber lookup. the 202 number was recaorded as a land line in Washington, DC area, but no further information was available.  The 877 number shhowed no result.  However, the 954-889-7371 is registered to a Rodrigo Gonzalez of Hollywood, Fl.
The reason why I probably fell for this scam is that I had just called my credit card company to sign up fo online paperless statement, and when I heard,"card srevices" I thought it was them.
Although my card has been calcelled, I am wondering if these people might not us my information to open credit in my name.  Has anyone reported such transactions?
What advice do you offer me?

I started to read one of the posts to her, about the FBI, she hung up! I was smart enough to ask, in these tough scamming times, to have time to research her company. IF IT SOUNDS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLY IS!!!!!!!!! and she hung up on me!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!! thankfully, i gave 0 information, that wasnt public record. She kept telling me that she was calling from a computer, therefore had no specific number, I even asked for an area code, she would not budge. PLEASE DON"T FALL INTO THIS TRAP!

EZ Financial Solutions   (Fraud! don't use! Please Read!)
*EZ Financial solutions*   Well they guaranteed me 2,500$ in savings and to pay off my debt 4 to 5 times faster. I had about 15,500$ in debt @ around 20% interest due to wells automatically raising my interest rate with no missed payment. (This call was supposedly recorded) They were going to set up an over the phone call with my bank (Wells Fargo) to lower the rates between 4% and 8%. If Wells did not give in to lowering they told me that they had many credit card companies that would cover the full amount as well as a fixed 4%-8% in financing. They offered me a one time fee of 795.00$. Remind u they already had this info after running my debt. They have no contact # that works any longer (old one  1888-262-3331,and 813-835-9301...  Please Please contact me if this has happened to you or if you know a way to fix this problem. or even a new contact number to reach anyone that can help me!!   Please and thank you for reading this and I hope it hasn't happened to you.  Whom ever else this has happened too we need to stick together and fight this!  you can reach me at      colinserrano@yahoo.com

I fell for the same routine yesterday. My caller ID gave the phone number 954-889-7371. I called this number and it was already disconnected. I will never give any personal info over the phone to anyone again. I feel like a complete idiot.

A company called with a recording, Hi, my name is Heather we would like to help you in lowering the interest rate on your credit cards. If you would like to do so press 1. A person then comes on and asks for credit card numbers and last four of social security number. They already had some information. Then they say someone with call you in 30 minutes. My interest rate was too low for them, but they still got some private info (dummy me). So cancelled the cards and need to file something regarding SS#. This is a scam. Never give any personal information to anyone if they call you.

I got a call today just like the rest of you.  I was half asleep and thought it was Citicard.  I received a call from Lina who was at 877-283-8605 x212. Funny how it's out of service the same day.  The then put me through to a John Allen at 888-826-1162.  They made some call to citicard with a guy Nerio x613.  They did absolutely nothing to help.  As Halley x324 was trying to get me to finish up, I hung up, called all my card companies to say that my cards were hit with a faud.  They cancelled all of them.  They have called 8x already from 954-889-7371 and saying I will be reported to a collection agency.

Wife just got call this morning... same as above... I checked online when I got suspicious and while she was still talking to them.  We immediately called the FTC with a complaint.  The FTC representative said it is most likely a scam as only the banks can lower your rates.  We immediately called the credit card company to reported possible scam and canceled/replaced card number.  No charges were made... whew!  The Justin character called back... I told that my name was Jesse [not!], that my wife had chaged her mind, and that she had already left the house and would not be back 'til late evening.  They said only wife could cancel and they had to talk to her directly.  Same person [Justin I presume] called back 2 minutes later, addressed me as "Jesse", asking if my wife was home. I responded in an annoyed tone "I just told she would be back late evening"... he hung up.

Picked up that this was something slimey right away.  Hung up.  They called back multiple times but I didn't answer.  Wife answered and was very brusque, telling the man that she didn't know anything about him, that he could be any piece of scum hiding in a pond and don't call back.  THEY DID!  Another instruction from my wife to not call back.  She hung up and the phone started ringing again.  At that time she answered and put the phone face down on the bed and just left the line open for about 30 minutes.  Checked to see if they were still talking.  No.  So now we wait to see if they will call again.  They call back if you answer and hang up.  And when you don't answer they just seem to put you on auto-redial.  An open line probably causes them problems (at least I hope so)
