I got the same call from a friendly voice named Jeff Gallagher of BPC stating I entered a contest at a mall or movie theater. Given that I hadn't been to the mall or the movies since Christmas, I looked this up online. I won't call!

Most timeshares companies operate in this way, basically paying you & spouse to attend a sales presentation, you must qualify finacially, ect. The telemarketers work from home, hence all the different phone #'s. I checked BBB and there have been no complaints on the company in the last 3 years. They aren't trying to steal your identitity, it's not a scam and they do have federal laws regulating what telemarketers are required to disclose, like whether you are responsible for paying taxes on your prize.

I worked for this company for a couple of months.  Damien is the founder and owner of Diamond Prize Center.  They do have phone numbers and ISP numbers, so, people either have entered a contest online , and, agreed to receive offers from affialiates.  I'm really not sure how they get the numbers, but, they do have email addresses for everyone they call.

What they don't tell you is that you have to go to a claim center to claim your "prize."  It's a timeshare presentation, or travel club.  Both are one and the same, just different wording.  The prizes are awarded, but, what they also don't tell you is that nearly everyone wins a vacation. There are strings attached to these vacations, such as a deposit, and, hotel room taxes, which have to be paid out of your pocket.  How is that a "free" vacation?  A lot of the vacations don't pay for transportation, some will pay for airfare, but, once again, there is a monetary outlay on your part.  None of these vacations can be used around major holidays either, and, some require a 60-90 day advanced booking.

They do not collect credit card information, but, you are required to have a major credit card when you attend the presentation.  They say for ID purposes. The credit cards are not scanned nor are the numbers copied, however, they want to sell you a timeshare, so, that's the real reason for having a credit card.  And,they won't accept a debit card either.  Some places require a checkbook.  I've never heard of anyone using a checkbook as an ID.

They tell you congratulations you are a finalist, but, if you don't meet the qualifications, then you aren't a finalist.  The reason for the qualifying income is once again - to sell you a timeshare.

It isn't an actual scam, because everyone who attends is awarded a prize, but, it is a little shady.

Hope this helps some of you understand how they operate.  They aren't really 3rd party verifiers, but, they obtain the information from brokers who sell your information to DPC. So, be careful when you enter a contest online.

If you really win a prize, it would be delivered to your house. You wouldn't have to go someplace to claim it, unless it was a vehicle, and, you had to go to a dealership. They have given away the vehicles at many of the centers.  They also don't tell you the odds of winning the prizes.  They want you hyped up to think you won something great.

I got a message on my answering machine from 956-263-1537. A man named Jeff Gallagher from DVT? told me I had entered an SUV/flatscreenn TV/trip sweepstakes at a mall or movie theater and to call him back at that number to verify my entry and process my claim. I googled the company and found nothng and then googled the phone number and found that others had this complaint too. I am on the Do Not Call list, but this guy somehow got my number.

They changed the number.  Now it's 432-393-5902 and the guy ids himself as "Mike Sutton of DPC."  When I called the number, I received the voicemail of a woman with a thick Southern accent and she said Diamond Prize Center.  Just know that all telemarketers must ID themselves and their company when they call you AND they must agree to take you off their call list if you ask them to do that.  Unfortunately, not all of them are operating within the confines of the law, so I just tape a list of crappy people and their phone numbers to my phone.  I never give out my phone number if I can help it and if I do, I only do so with the express agreement that it will only be used for the purpose of conducting business with the people I'm buying something from.  Most companies have that privacy clause built into the terms now, so if you read it, you're usually cool.  The reason I'm getting these calls is that the person who had this phone number before me gave her number out to anybody and everybody who asked, and I get that she was into gambling and all kinds of people have targeted her (and now, me, through her old phone number).  It's a work number or I'd change it.

I recieved a call this morning on my cell phone. I was unable to answer it because I was at work. But a man claiming to be Jeff Galagher from DPC left the message about the SUV/Trip/ Flatscreen contest as well and to call 956-263-1537 back. I looked up the number and found out it belongs to a Jose Rubio in Rio Grande City, Texas.

Received a message on my machine today from Damien saying Congratulations, I was a winner in a SUV, Trip, Flat Screen TV Contest. I could not find any such sweepstakes on the internet. The number he asked me to call was 503-254-5079, in Oregon. When I dial the number I receive a voicemail message from a Sandy Wagner from the Diamond Prize Center; not Damien telling me to leave my name and phone number and she will call me back regarding the prize I won. I did leave a message but never heard back from her. I called the number a few times but, no surprise, she never answers. I just get her message.

I did look up Diamond Prize Center and a Damien is listed as the founder and that the company is some prize center for various Sweepstakes. However, there are no mentions on the website of the companies they represent or the sweepstakes they do fulfilling for.  Obviously a scam.  The company employs telemarketers who call from their personal home phones to get you to provide them with personal information about the caller under the guise that you won something.  DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME.  THEY OBVIOUSLY ARE INVOLVED IN IDENTITY THEFT OR SOME KIND OF FRAUD.

I got a message today from Steve Break (Brake?) too - 956-263-1537. Says he's from Break & Rubio Enterprises at TVC and congratulating me for entering into some SUV/Trip. I called but it was a corny voicemail box message. Obviously a gimmick at that point.

What I thought was funny was that the message starts, "Hi ****, this is Steve Break..." where ***** is just muffled sound. Which goes to show they do not know names, just phone numbers and probably locations. Could be a message for all we know.
