There was an Exibition at Gmkhana grounds hyderabad which had a counter near the gate giving all a luckey draw coupon. I filled in my name & number & gave it to them. It all started from there I guess. The first call was from country wide club for membership.

I too got this message twice (on 7/1/2009 and 8/1/2009) on my Airtel number but did not call back given the style of the message. I think its a fraud message. And it is originating from Maldives. I am planning to take up this issue with Airtel and the Police. Let's see what is going to come out.

Looks like some kind of Scam only. I also received the same sms. Why should they be doling out freebees like this. CONFIRMED SCAM.

I don't think they are Indian but its possible that Indians are also involved. They are sending different versions of this SMS to mobiles in many countries. For Indian mobile numbers, they are using the "Rs. 25000" message. Anyway, from what I can see, it looks like a major scam. First they charge you a lot for your call, and when you call them they ask for your name and address, which sounds like Identity Theft to me.

So, don't call the number and also make sure that you enable automatic keypad locking in your mobile phone, so that the number doesn't get called in case you receive the message while your phone is in your pocket.

they are not getting amount by spam mail (earning), so they started new trick for earning money by Fraud (Cheat), but we don't know how they r getting our contact number??? i'm using Postpaid connection.

i think" this all are Indian Guys , they register SMS gateway.. from other country and using for Indian Mobiles.

Hey..I called up this no. after receiving the msg twice. It connected and then a computerised voice asks u to give name and address details after a beep and also select ur gift!! Quite tempting I admit..bt I thought better play safe and not divulge such details. But y is anyone playing such a weird prank??

This message is sent by a fraud organization which is operated from Maldives. They will ask you, your number has won Rs. 25,000 please give me your Bank A/C No. / Debit Card No. / Credit Card No. so that they can transfer the amount after that either they will hack the password of your Bank A/C No. / Debit Card No. / Credit Card No. or will ask the same from customer care. Ultimately you will become bankrupt because of this.

So plz never call this number. It may be dangerous for you!
