i recieve miss call in dis 8104502660 number some days interwals

i recieved a miss call in dis # +9609005883..and im thinking w/c country have a area code, and i try to search in google...finally i knew it!tnx god!

i got miss call from this no, later i called some body lifted , but there was no response.

This number 8296169257 has made unwanted call yesterday and today also.  I request telecom authorities to take action against them .so that they don't disturb me in future.

I received the missed call from the no 9609895171. I immediately checked this from google. This is prank call . Do not respond to this call any way .

I  too received a  missed call from +9609895171 today at 2.10 pm . And by habit instantly called back and cut the phone immediately realizing that the number is not starting with +91.
Don't know  any malicious intention of caller behind  that missed call or not.

thank god, i also got a call from this number ,but when i tried to call back bsnl informed me that i cant call to this number bcoz i dont have facility for  international  call.........saved .........ha ha ha.

Got a missed call from +9609446617 today and thankfully didn't give them a call back this time. Was cheated of a lot of rupees last time owing to a missed call from a similar international number which at a glance looks pretty much an Indian Mobile Number. My advice to all - BE CAREFUL and don't call back such numbers.

missed call from an international number perhaps late in the night or early

morning and you made the mistake of calling back that number.

Faced the same issue of a MISSED call coming at 04:30 AM in the morning

from caller: +960-9895171 onto my BSNL mobile.

When a missed call wakes you up from sleep - you are obviously anxious and

call back the same number expecting an emergency situation or news from

family or friends. Little realizing or noting that the number is an international

number and could be a ripoff operation designed on you.

NOTE : +960 implies a country other than India ( with our ICC = +91 )

As soon as you call back you are immediately connected to the other number

without any outgoing ringing occurring. Thus you pay back good amount of

money for this international call - the longer connected, the more.

It seems obvious that some unscrupulous fellows have opened a cheating
scam with the call coming from MALDIVES ( ICC = +960 ).

There has got be an Indian nexus. Some Indian tele-marketer is providing
pre-selected numbers to the ring operator operating from MALDIVES (

tomorrow it may be any other country ). My suspicion is that the ring is

operated by unscrupulous PIO ( People of Indian Origin ) based in MALDIVES, directly or indirectly.

The number is a TEN digit number designed to confuse the Indian people in

believing that this is a call originating from an Indian mobile number. This is

clearly "CHEATING".

In India, IPC Sec 420 would have applied and similar sections on these
people.

How do we initiate legal action on an operator operating out of
MALDIVES ? ( or, any country for that matter )  ?

Is there a provision to initiate this complaint thru' the Indian chapter of
ITU ( International Telecom Union ) ? or, the Telecom ministry of the GoI ?

Do we make a complain with our mobile Service provider plus a formal complain

to the police ?

HOW do we get this knowledge in the PUBLIC DOMAIN so that others may

not be duped similarly ? How MAY we do the same ?

Anyone having clear thoughts on this please give your valuable inputs.

In public interest, a proper line of action needs to be initiated to contain
this menace. And the people behind this must be booked for criminal
intent and purpose.
