Never ever answer the phone with yes. You don't have any idea what that Yes could cause in the way of monetary problems. Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

It appears that you hit the nail on the head when you said you were looking at online education material?  I posted two replies below the last one being about some matching company for universities?  Good luck.  At least it is not some bill collector or other bad news.  
Still the guy just hanging up on me after I identified myself is creepy too!

I just called the number back (I posted above about being hung up on) at 1-970-300-1048 and a recording comes on stating the company You have just reached DEGREEMATCH.  Degreematch matches students with some of the best universities in the country.  If you would like to speak with an education specialist press 1 if you would like to be removed from our calling list press 2.
I have never called, posted or listed anywhere that I was interested in this type of information.  I am almost 60 yrs old.
Two things come to mind that may be tied into this call if it is not legit?  One I just recently added my name to the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and two I am working with student loans regarding payment/disabilty on my old loans.  Whatever the case the person just hanging up on me after identifying me is some kind of scam and not a university search???  

I just rec'd a call from this number and a guy said is this Connie - I said YES - he hung up on me?  What the hell is this about.  Don't know the number and the caller I.D. states - DEGREEMATCH.  Spelled just like that?

I have been receiving calls from this number and they never leave a voice mail - I recently was looking up jobs online and thought that I had exited the page asking for my phone # before it was submitted. I guess not.

I received a call from this number. I don't answer numbers I don't recognize, and I wait sometimes for the voice mail. They usually go away after about a month. That is what we get for looking for jobs and education material online.
