Repeatedly I have been receiving telephone calls from 1-971-220-1825 and the Caller ID says Pactel.

A message is left each day that this telephone number calls me, but there is no voice (human or automated) in the message and the message just offers silence.

I called this telephone number and it has some automated voice that says (to paraphrase) that some company has called me for marketing purposes and to press a certain key if I do not want to receive anymore calls.  I press that key to not receive any calls in the future each time I have called this 'phone number in response to receiving a silent message and the automated voice says that it will take 24 hours to process and that then I will not receive anymore calls.  Yet for a couple of weeks I have made these calls in response to the silent telephone messages and today (15-MAY-2012) yet again I received a telephone call (and silent message) and I called back and pressed to not receive calls and YET AGAIN the automated voice said that it will take 24 hours to take effect and that I will not receive anymore calls.

I am getting sick and tired of it.

Just another addition to the list. I returned to grad school this year, and these guys have been calling me incessantly for at least two weeks. I did the call back trick and tried to get them to stop calling, but that was clearly a fake message because the calls kept coming. I finally picked up the phone while at work which would give me an excuse to tell them I had to hang up. When I told them what my actual program was, Urban Planning, they told me to enjoy my studies and basically hung up on me. They also asked me if I was a US citizen, which made me chuckle in my response.

When you call the number back and press #1 you are just confirming your number to them and they will keep calling back.  I suggest you start recording the calls for a future law suit. I'm not sure how many times they have to call you before it's considered harrassment

And the phone calls have begun. They've 4 times in lesss than a half hr. Ugh! I'm so tempted to answer and act like a delusional nut case to see if that scares them enough to stop calling me.

This number has called mine 3 times in less than an hour. They never speak after my greeting.  Who is this and what do they want?

I'm happy I'm not the only one. This number called me 6 times in 2 hrs! I'm freakin annoyed!

This number has called me every day even on Sunday every 30 minutes i am tired of them what can wr. do about it?

I get a callon or about every hour on the hour! Before this. 971-220-1825 called a # 791- out of Colorado calledon or about every hour on the hour for 2 weeks prior! Be advised there isn't any background noise to pin point the who what when how or why! I did advise they were calling a officer. Cell and still get the calls! When I did the reverese lookup iits a higher learning business! I feel from the nature of the calls. Something seems off! Thx!

Who ever calls from this number calls atleast 4 times with in a 15 min span. Then wait 2-3 hours and the calls start again. Call always seem to start around 9am est. I really want these calls to stop!!!

Also, meant to add - if you haven't already, report them to www.donotcall.gov.   Of course that is if you're registered.

Like everyone else here, the calls just started and appear to happen at least once an hour.   I did get the number, called back, got the recorded message noted above about pressing one, then I got a call about an hour later.   They have called at least 4 times today.   I just was able to pick up and a woman asked for my wife and I told them she wasn't here and before I could say anything she said, "Ok, we'll call back" and she was gone.   The common thread I see with other folks reporting here is that we do have a daughter in college.    Based on calling the number back, as noted above, this is a telemarketing company.

I have caller ID and didn't answer the call.  I think once a call like this is answered the caller knows they have reached a working number and the calls will only increase.  If you don't have Caller ID I'd recommend you get it and if you don't recognize the number just don't answer the call.  Lot less stress that way.  Caller ID on this particular call displayed 'V05101653580093' so with a display like that I knew it was a call I definitely did not want to answer.  By the way, no message was left.  What a surprise.

I have received 3 calls from 1-971-220-1825 today May 10, 2012. They let phone ring twice, hang up. I refuse to answer and let it go to voice mail, but they hang up after two rings.  It says Pactel on the caller I.D.

Hey guys the app on android Mr. Number worked they tried calling in and the app blocked them in a matter of less that a 1/2 a second. Sice then they have not called back anymore. Originally they were almost every 10-20 minutes but have not gotten anymore calls since I loaded the app. Thanks SapphireDagger88 for the tip. What a releif they cant get through anymore!!!!!

This number is annoying. I downloaded Mr. Number from my android phone and blocked the number as the previous comment stated. Hopefully this works. I will let you guys know if it does.

I have receivd calls froms this number every 10 minutes, so far it has been 5 calls.
                 Something has to be done with this company!!!!!!!

Me again, Finally got a hold of the Gresham, OR police department Non Emergency # 503-823-3333. They looked it up and even found a Facebook page on them. The PD said to file a telephone harassment report and to call "Your" phone carrier and have that number placed on block. Hope this helps alot of you out.

Have been getting non-stop phone calls every hour and day for the past 2-3 weeks from 971-220-1825. Finally called it back and did the "Option 1" Remove from list, we'll see what that does. I even tried calling the Gresham, OR police department Non Emergency # 503-823-3333 to complain and couldn't even get connected to a live person to report/complain about it.

they have called my cell number 47 times since monday i guess i will notifiy the BBB. what a bunch of b****ead heads the pepole that gave out my cell number should be put in jail.......

The calls just started today and they won't stop!!!! I am guessing they are calling me for the same reason of  student services and what not. The ringer rang once and then I guess they hung up. All the other comments here seem like they are very mad and that "pactel" wont leave them alone. Now that they have called my phone, that is just dandy. -_-

I learned from someone else if you call this number back and press 1, they will take you off their call list... Hope this helps you all...

So far I have gotten 2 calls in past hour from (971) 220 - 1825. Today is the first occurance. I have Mr. Number on my Android phone, so I BLOCKED these a***oles!

Calls at least 6 times a day if not more I never answer and never will......Caller ID reads PACTEL.

Telemarking company has been calling me for two weeks.  Tried pressing #1 to be taken off call list and it doesn't work.  They call 15 times a day.  Checked the do not call list from US GOV list and I did register my cell back in 2005.  According to Do Not Call rules, we cannot file a complaint for 31 days.
