The ONLY way to deal with this kind of call is to simply ignore it when you see the caller ID is not one you know. Give it the same notice you would give a really, juicy, vile FART in an elevator you happen to be riding. Get off at the next floor with EVERYONE WHO CAN SNIFF... and take the stairs. If the mystery caller appears on the stairs and starts to recite a hard line sales pitch just shove them down the stairwell and take the next floor to the elevator that you take back DOWN to the first floor. Walk calmly to the crowd at the bottom of the stair well and ask what happened... shake your head and take the next cab to a bar and get drunk enough to forget, or drunk enough to plan the next exit for a robo-call abuser. Of COURSE, I am not serious. This is all hypothetical and just an amusing fantasy about what anyone MIGHT consider when their valuable time is wasted on this kind of NONSENSE.

I have both me cell & home numbers on the DNC list but continually get calls from this company! Have demanded that they remove me from their call list and never call again but they continue under different numbers. They asked to put a security sign in my yard, didn't even say what the name of the company is called! Stupid!

Received a phone call from "Pactel" offering a free home security system. Knew the offer to be bogus, but curious at the same time as to who was making the offer.

they must have access to the "Do not call list"
They called me - I'm in GA (and on the do not
call list)!!

Got a call from this number on February 17. Clicked them off before they had a chance to reach my voice mail. Has anyone ever heard of Phone Tray Free? I saw this on a post and it says it blocks telemarketers calls.. I was afraid to download it since I know nothing about it. You can Google this. Anything to stop these intrusions.

I called the State and reported this call, they said not to answer them and they will take your number off the list. Simple enough. He also said not to press 1 or 2, when you do this, they will keep calling you!
Gary 2012-02-16 23:51:25 Unknown
Called the number back....surprise, surprise...it's a disconnected number. Now how can that be if they just called me from it.
Mary 2012-02-16 22:13:50 Unknown
I got a call just now and picked up to hear a recording. Pressed 9, and it hung up. So what I did was to rename Pactel to SCAM Pactel. ;)

Harrassing Phone Calls.

7:30 AM today, PacTel. Same voice message as above re security system.
QUESTION: If, indeed, PacTel is in Gresham (sp), OR, has anyone reported this "company" to the Oregan state government? It should have some kind of "consumer affairs" department.

Same call about installing a home security system. Another SCAM. Where is the enforcement of federal regulations re ROBO calls?

Where the heck do these scammers get our phone numbers? This is new one at our house. We get all the credit rate lowering scams from all different numbers, but never this one before.

Caller ID said PACTEL. This is a company selling alarm monitoring services. These guys have called before and I selected "take me off your list" but has not happened. Listened to message and chose to talk to someone. Got him to tell me the service is provided by Monitronics in Texas and that he works for Maximum Security in Florida.

971-220-1960 - PACTEL ... recorded message warning: FBI reports home invasion every 15 minutes & their home alarm system will prevent you ... so will my two Rottweiler's.
What's the point of having 'CALL BLOCKER' & being on the 'DO NOT CALL LIST' --- these calls come in daily. 5 minutes before that was a call wanting donations for cancer - the caller ID just had 'toll free' ... so I'll look at my caller id closer before picking up!
These have to be a scam calls - who would be dumb enough to buy 'protection' from a phone call ???
Who would trust donating to any origination that can't afford to ID their phone numbers?

Same as other people. Gresham Oregon, only part of the message comes thru about a security system and putting a sign in my yard. I am on the do not call list.
Karen 2012-02-16 00:41:23 Telemarketer
I finally answered. Had the same automated message about a security system. I pressed "1" to talk to a person. Told him I was on the "Do Not Call" list. His response, "Do I care?" When I asked his company name, he hung up on me. I filed a complaint with the FTC Do Not Call Registry. Maybe if enough people file complaints, they will investigate.
Donna 2012-02-15 23:07:04 Unknown
Recieved a call from 347 298 1357 about a security system. "Select one for more info or 2 to be place on our do not call list." Why should I select 2. I am on the national do not call list. So I selected one and told the live voice that I wanted to know why they were violating the Do Not Call list that they were acting against the law and they hung up. Same thing happened two days ago with a duct cleaning service. Phone #971 220 1960. I told them the same thing. And then there is the ever present "My credit card company" telling me there is nothing wrong with my card but I need to immediately call for lower interest rates. (I get this call about 3 times a month for the past year.) Finally I selected #1 and told them to quite calling me as I am on the national do not call list. The female voice said "thats not going to happen until you call this number and get your name taken off our list." I said that rather than do that I will just file a formal complaint with the Washington State Attorney General for consumer affairs. They hung up. THE NATIONAL DO NOT CALL LAW IS NOT WORTH THE PAPER IT WAS WRITTEN ON!!! There is NO inforcement as I have reported every call made to me.

This is a scam call. It's the old Card Services new scam. I guess they finally realized people had caught on to their scam and decided to change things up.
