I received a call from this number stating that our doctor had ordered an alarm system for us. The day before I read in AARP about the scam that was occurring regarding these systems. I am also on the "Do not call list" I wonder how they are getting out numbers?

I received a call from the number listed above. I understand that the caller is posing as a Security System Company waning to install a new security system on my house. I did not take the phone call nor did they leave a message. I am just adding the information as a way to help stop this kind of phone fishing expeditions.

Received an automated call, the individual had a lengthy message about a medical alert device that was prepaid and wanted me to push a number button so I could complete the transaction. I did not and just hung up. I believe this is a scam and want this call stopped.

Deceptive recorded call. Said someone I knew had paid to have a free security system installed as someone in the house recently had an injury...I disconnected recording.

Earlier today there was a call that said "Security Systems" on my caller ID. I didn't answer and they did not leave a message. It was an area code that started with a 6. Just now got the call from 971-300-4514, caller ID sad UNKNOWN NAME. Did not answer this one either. Have had calls from this one before and it was a guy with an East Coast accent - a recording that starts talking when you start talking. Anyway, the caller was talking about installing a security system that we'd ordered. I know they called my neighbor a few times too. Wish there was some way to put this scumbag out of business. I am on the Do Not Call list.

Here they are again--this same number--we have told them not to call--and yet they persist.
Horrid people.
The last time someone from this number called (this time no one was there), they said we had ordered an "as seen on tv" security system.
I told the man then and there we'd never ordered such a thing and not to call back.
Fat chance, eh?!
Just called again about ten minutes ago. ARGH!

My first experience with this number, at least within memory. I do not ever answer calls from unknown numbers but I trace them online- and will simply add my report to this growing list.

This number belongs to scammers and I am on the do not call list .

i got a call with this number on the caller id today, but i will use *57 call trace, since it is obviously an illegal scam call. i have used *57 before to get rid of these type of callers for good, it seems to work. the phone co. can trace them even if they gave a bogus number on caller id i guess. It may cost me a dollar on the phone bill to use call trace, but it's worth it imo.
caller id had "unknown" caller, with the number 971-300-4514.

Continually receive calls from 434-338-6817 (Charlottesville, VA #) for a SECURITY SYSTEM that they tell me "A CLOSE FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER MUST HAVE PURCHASED FOR YOU'. When I ask whom they have as the purchaser, they ignore me. They call at least once a week, if not more. Not sure if this is a desperate attempt to make money or a group of people trying to get access to your home. Either way, they are a scam.

Beuford, we are in a war against these monsters. We pay enough for our telephone service (just as some of us do to Yahoo!) to keep ads off our connections. We should be free of all kinds of commercial calls. Yet somewhere, someone with connections (by phone, political, and commercial) is making money. So we have to suffer indignities like these.
| Beuford 2013-07-06 00:16:14 Unknown |
How is it possible for these guys to even do this?

Emergency alert systems,
This call will be stopped and if you can not help the FCC will get a report. In fact I am sending a report to the FCC as of now.

This live call was to say they couldn't find our home to deliver an emergency home system (as seen on TV), we had ordered and they needed our address. This is the SECOND phone call we've received from these people. I told him (last Saturday) in no uncertain terms, that we were not interested and that this was a scam, to never call back, and that I was reporting the call.
My worry is that some naive older person would receive a phone call list this and actually thing they'd ordered the project and give instructions, information, name, info., etc. These scammers must be stopped. It is a scam to hurt older folks--it is ELDER ABUSE.

I was told the medical item he mentioned already has been paid for and to punch number 1 on the phone for delivery or 5 for rejection.
I punched number5, but now think I should not have.
the phone number was 971-300-4514

As all the calls above we are receiving the calls 2-3 times a day no one to talk to no way to opt out and the number is discontinued when you call it so the only thing left to do is to find out who is sending these to me and look him/them up in person and and it wont be nice! I have had enough of these intrusions

Recorded message started out "If you're a senior citizen..." at that point I hung up. Recorded sales calls are illegal. Caller ID showed "Out of Area" even though I am within the 971 area.

I have blocked this number on my cell phone (AT&T) and he continues to get thru.
I hang up on him after saying "no, no, no". This evening was the 3rd or 4th call
in the last 2 weeks.

This was a live call. When I first answered, no one was there, then there was a "click," after which a man with NO accent began to speak. He was saying he wanted to set up a delivery for a home protection system we'd ordered from some as seen on television ad. I told him he had no business calling us, that we were on the No Call list and that we had NEVER ordered the item he was supposedly delivering. I told him not to call again, and I hung up on him.
A few minutes later we had one of those robo calls pop through--with no one the line. Probably the same company.

Wanted to sell me another security system. Isn't one enough? are two too many?
It's a robo call. Haning up just signals his robo to redial. So, after you hangupleave your phone offhook for a couple minutes. Most phone companies have a blocking feature for specific numbers. .Before you get tpo excited, some of these dunderheads have a way around that too..They use a call forward system, where the number that shows up on your caller ID is the number they forward to, it then calls you. They are also good at playing the victim too, like ..."just trying to do my job, and make a living, etc. They could probably get a better job selling call blocking machines.

Calls a lot very, very annoying. Scam alert!!
| Fred 2013-06-15 17:59:45 Prank Call |
Caller remained silent when I answered and repeatedly said "Hello" and "Please speak louder."
Evidently it's thieves looking for vacant homes (no answer) versus occupied homes (where phone is answered).

Got the same thing. It sounds like a real person talking, but is automated call. Scammers... Son answered phone and he said the guy was talking about medical alert system. I made him hang up. Normally if I catch the phone, I turn it off and right back on, but son wanted to give them a bad time.
