They called an hung up several times, finally I answered as it is a local number and I thought someone looking for my services.  She pronounced the name of my company wrong, asked if it was a walk in business and then I asked what she is selling and she said "nothing, I just want to make some recommendations about your website". I asked what kind of expertise does she have to make recommendations and she said she was a "social media expert".  I hung up.  They called back immediately and I didn't answer.  I guess they didn't get the hint.

Tired of harassing calls like this number.  Sometime they answer, but most of the time, no one is there.  They call everyday, three times a day!!!

Did anyone ever think that this is someone who is in the Federal Pen in Seagoville? The times of calls make it right around the time there is "free-time" to do whatever.......don't answer the calls and make sure you file reports with FCC & national Do Not Call complaint sites.

received call from this number they asked for the home owner by last name, when i told them they were unavailable and if i could take a message, female stated it was a "thank you" call and hung up.

Shows local callback. When I answer it hangs up.

Got a call from this number.  They asked for my employer, who was not available.  They would not leave a message, just said they would try again to reach him.  Funny thing, the phone is listed in my employer's given name but this guy asked for him by his nickname.

I got a call  they asked for money for police officers fund. they get upset and very rude when i told them we can't help and they may call the president better he has money from federal funds.

the guy pulled the police chief charity scam on me and is very persistent. You have to hang up on him to end the call.

Just got a call.  Said it was the Texas Police Chiefs Association.  I told the guy I already give pleanty of money to the police via speeding tickets.

telephone solicitation for rasing money for police officers killed on duty.  I told them that is what life insurance, workers comp. and our tax dollars already pay so I am not going to give them anymore money.  If those police do not love thier family enough to buy life insurance, I certainly do not love them.  Those wives hopefully have kept themselves in good shape and can make a living Dancing.

I just got a call from this number today, i looked the number up on google and was led to this web-site, i called the number back and reached an automated voice system saying that they are working for a police charity organization and gave me an number to call for customer service, i don't see that any of you have mentioned this, the number is 1-800-336-7036. I called this number and it led me to another automated voice system giving me list of things to choose from, i just hung up. The voice operator does not sound very legitimate, he seems to be running out of breath by the very end of the call.

Weird call on my business line.  "My name is Mario and I'm with your Texas Police. Is the owner in?  Can I have their name?"  I told him "no" and hung up.

same thing happened to me and i'm not in north texas where that number originates!

This person does not answer when I say hello, but sits and listens for a time before hanging up. When I try to call the number back, there are a few brief seconds of music and the line cuts off. the person never leaves a message and has called me frequently in the afternooon/evening since the beginning of this summer. I'll be reporting this number to the police for harrassment.

This is a telemarketing company claiming to do charity work for police department. They may also do telemarketing for others. Remember these are NOT real charit. they are bunch of low life trash people trying a make buck by selling charity.

Phone rang.....noticed it was a "Local Number" from my area on my caller ID, so I answered.

Guy asked to speak with the General Manager. I am the OWNER of this company. Told him hang on and let me transfer you.............

We received a call from this number today. My mother answered the phone and she said a man asked if she was "K" "Tate". My mom said no and he hung up. I looked up the number on my phone and redialed it. As others have said, it rang a few times, then disconnected. Very suspicious. I am thinking of reporting this to the FCC...

it's really not all that "weird" people. this isn't any kind of phenomenon as some of you think. it's most likely an auto dialer that isn't functioning properly. it's obvious they want money, but can't afford a better dialer. laughable blokes.

i set the call type to "unknown" because i'm not convinced they're a legitimately "non-profit organization".

I just received a call from same number 972-200-3828, guy answered ans asked for JR I asked who was calling he said something Police, looked up the number on my cell and it pulles up a Angela Landra regestered to this number as a cell

Got a call from 972-200-3828 at 8:30pm on 10/01/2010, caller tried to act very friendly called me by my husbands last name.  I told him my husband was not home and asked him if I could help him he told me this was a community call and then hung up. Very strange they have been calling all hours of the day maybe I am paranoid but it almost seems like they are checking to see the times we are home. They have called several times before and when we answer no one says anything then they just hang up. Anyone have any suggestions?

Got a call yesterday, claim to be an association collecting money for Texas Police Officer dead on duty.
Put the donation level quite high (at least $50), claiming that you donation will be like a million. Became unfriendly once repeatedly requesting me my credit card or debit card number. No mister, I don't give my number over the phone. Wanna get the money? mail me a pledge form. Sounds f.cked up by this answer and told something like sned the check ASAP.
