has called me ten times over the last two to three weeks. finally answered today the lady asked what system I was currently using to protect my home, before I could reply she hung up on me. first of all I am in college and do not own a home and secondly, even if I did own a home I would not use any type of system except for the five pitbull boxer mix that I own.

if telemarketers are buying phone numbers. next time you buy something give out the police number.
let the cops deal with it. or any other number you can think of.

I got a call from a woman from this number. Protect America. She hung up on me when I asked how their company got my number. I immediately called them back, spoke to another person named Raphael and asked him the same question.
His answer was if I had done business with a company online or from a tv infomercial that they were selling the phone numbers and that was probably how Protect America had gotten my phone number. I told him to take my name off their list but I still filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry.
It seems that there are one or two unscrupulous companies that are selling phone numbers. When you order something online or over the phone you'll need to ask them if they sell your personal information. I used to do this assiduously but have stopped due to laziness. I'll have to start asking again.

I called the number back as they have repeatedly called and left no message. I asked them to take me off their calling list and voila!, no more calls :)

Telemarketing? The caller identified themselves as Tina from "Protect America" offering something to do with cell phone service protection.
Politely declined, and the caller politely apologized for the interruption.
Looks like it's time to renew my Do Not Call registration on my phone...
