i got a message from this number on my voicemail about making 5 figures an so forth..

Have gotten a call from this number several times, on my cell phone, which I have no idea how they would have gotten that number seeing as how I am extremely careful with where I give it out. I never have answered since it was a number I didn't know.

The DNC list does not automatically block calls.  Instead, it provides a list of  "do not call" phone numbers to legitimate telemarketers who pay a fee for the list.

The DNC list exempts political callers, survey organizations,  charities and companies with preexisting business relationships, but these organizations might have their own, internal Do Not Call list (ask them).

The DNC list  is not effective against criminals, spammers and scammers, because those people do not subscribe to the DNC list, and do not care if you are on or off that list.
Its purpose is to stop calls from legitimate telemarketers, and it does a pretty good job at that.

These people are saying this call is not a telemarketer but it is a robo call and those I understand are illegal too!!!  They need to stop calling my number!!!!!  I am on the do not call list!!!

I received a call from a man asking for my boss by his first name. (My boss has a hard to pronounce last name, so he usually goes by his nickname.) Anytime a caller asks for my boss by his first name instead of his nickname, it is usually a sales call. Sensing this was a sales call, I advised the caller that I could only take a message for my boss and the man said he didn't want to leave a message and then hung up on me.
Caller id says: Unknown Name, 972-291-5565
I googled the phone number, and "Roberts Investment Group" is what comes up on Google. I believe this was a sales call.
