This is the second time I've gotten a text from these people.  The first time, unfortunately, was on a day that I actually lost my debit card...but don't worry, I was STILL not stupid enough to call someone that text me crazy bank messages.  It's just very annoying!

These are always scams. The scammers send out spam emails as well.

These are often large-scale, organized criminal rings in foreign countries, including Nigeria, India, parts of Eastern Europe, Pakistan, etc. Anywhere that has plenty of people and where the police are poorly paid and outgunned. There's some evidence to suggest that terrorist organizations even use tactics like these to obtain money for their activities.

Yeah, I get this text message almost every month and it tells me to call another number every time.  They change call back numbers each time, but it always seems to be a Bank called Legacy. I've reported it to http://www.ftc.gov/phonefraud but wouldn't hurt for everyone to keep reporting it to get their attention.  The reporting site for the federal trade commission isn't the easiest to figure out which type fraud it comes under, but just keep looking until you find it.  Once you find it, you'll know it.

LegacyBank - Deactivated my card?... I don't do business with them.
Called the number and it seams to re-route the call to some funky automated system, asking for your account number and pin... SURE!!!

I have seen lots of such reports, but no link who to report this to.

FBI web site has an option to report Internet Crime, but I'm not sure if that is appropriate for these type of calls.

Bottom line, is if we don't report these attempts of fraud then no one is doing nothing to curb their growth.

I'll report it as a Cyber crime to the FBI and see what the say.
