I also received call from Jim Hamilton who waas extremely professional and seemed very sincere about helping me get information on protecting the wealth and equity I've built in my company. I thought it was a sales call but turned out to the most important call I have had about the future of my company. Seems like the messages here are from receptionist...I am an owner of a large company. Excellent call!

Got a call from "Jim Hamilton...what a dou che bag!!  This guy knows NOTHING about M&A.  I spent 12 years running M&A for a huge Investment Bank on Wall Street, so ol' Jimbo was transparent to me.

The best part of the call was how he ended it:

"I can tell you are set in your ways, but let me leave you with a final thought...'I've never met a stupid rich man".  God Bless."  **CLICK**

I could spell the used car salesmen cologne through the phone, and I think he was trying to also sell our town a monorail.

Jimbo, you should have your own Reality TV Show.

DON'T FALL FOR THIS
As the COO with nearly a decade of M&A experience, our CEO asked that I return Mr. Jim Hamilton's call.  Upon asking what kind of information he hoped to provide to our CEO, he said he was precluded from providing information to anyone but an owner or a partner.  While I appreciated Mr. Hamilton answering his own phone, Mr. Hamilton was evasive and as a result he built little to no trust.  After further questioning,  Mr. Hamilton shared that he works for the largest M&A firm in North America called Generational Equity.  (I have never heard of Generational Equity despite all my years in M&A) They are focused on working with firms valued in the $1M to $25M range.  When asked that he send our CEO the information, Mr. Hamilton indicated he did not have anything to send but that he would be willing to discuss the "valuable information" with an owner.  Which I had to remind him was the purpose of me returning his call.

This was the least interesting, and least valuable call I have ever had with any M&A firm or PEG - if that is in fact what Generational Equity is.

Good luck and all the best Mr. Hamilton.

I am from Generational Equity.  Although, in my calls I deceptively represent that I am from a major M&A firm, I am in fact with Generational Equity.  Generational Equity is a seminar company that offers consulting on valuations and how to best position a small company to sell in this crazy down market.

Yes, I am evasive and highly deceptive in my calls because I realize that no CEO/Owner in their right mind would return the voicemail of someone who said they were offering a training class on how to sell a business.  Oops, on the other hand, who in their right mind would spend money with a company who treated their executive admin poorly and manipulated them into returning a call just to attend a costly seminar.

Perhaps I should consider revising my approach.  My apologies to all whose feelings were hurt.

Ol Jimmy call us today. When I told him that he could discuss whatever he wanted to talk to the owner about as I was the Director of operations, he stated that he could only give this "valuable information" to an Owner. When I told him he was being a little too vague for me to connect him with our owner, he stated. "I guess my being vague will cost your owner my value" and hung up. Don't fall for this losers tactics!!!

"Jim Hamilton" called our retail store today. Asked for the owner and was very pushy even though I told him the owner was not in. When I took a message, I asked if we had an account with them, or if this was a sales call. He said in a very condescending tone that it was neither, and that I obviously didn't know what mergers and aquisitions meant.

It's funny that another poster here described him as a do***ebag, because that's EXACTLY how I described him to a co-worker!

Our business received a call from Jim Hamilton today, he asked to speak to the owner, using his first name.  When I told him the owner was not available he left his name and phone number (his direct line) and stated only that he was hoping to do business with our company.  I got the name of his company from the caller ID.

Ol' Jimmy boy here called me today. Hoping to get in touch with the owner. Basically I didnt transfer his call. I did take down his company name (which he was not forthcoming with, and uttered super fast), and a phone number. And before passing this message along... googled the number. Just as I suspected. Tisk Tisk Jimmy!

Received a phone call from "Jim Hamilton" who refused to state what company he was with.  He tried all the sleezy tactics trying to contact the CEO from "She knows me, to I'm her business consultant."  When pressed for his company's name, he refused to provide information.  When asked for a callback number, he hesitantly provided this number then stated he would call our CEO's cell number.  He then called our other location which rolls over to my phone.  I pressed him for more information and he said he was calling in reference to a "Business Internet meeting next month."

Received a call at 11:03 a.m. from someone who identified himself as "Jim Hamilton". He asked to speak my boss and or his voicemail. I asked repeatedly whom he was with or what it was regarding. He was very evasive and I knew that he was "cold-calling" about some crap that we have NO interest in.

Good luck, idiot!!!

THIS IS A TRAINING and CONSULTING COMPANY NOT AN M&A FIRM.  Jim Hamilton is crafty in his deceptive presentation of who he is and what services his firm offers knowing that if he said he was offering training and consulting on how to properly value your business and position it to sell, he would NEVER get a call back.

The CALL: As the COO with nearly a decade of M&A experience, our CEO asked that I return Mr.
