Called and offered a free trip for four and all I had to do was give them my expiration date. Wouldn't give me a call back number where they could be reached. First he was asking about a Visa, which we don't have, my wife told him that, then said he works for Mastercard and Visa. Thats when i took the phone.Very thick east Indian accent, hard to understand. One thing he did understand is that he wasn't giving me his contact info before I gave him my expiration date, to which he said "Its just an expiry date, thats all". I told him if I won a trip, send the info in the mail.Hind sight, I should have given a bogus expiration date to see if I could get a contact number which I assume I definitely would not.

We just got a call from this number with the same description as the messages I just read. I am very annoyed that I am getting calls from Texas when I live in Canada. I would really like to know who is selling my number to these people. We refused to give any information until he identified himself and he again asked for visa verification. Apparently "NO" isn't good enough and he hung up.

called me this afternoon, knew my first and last name and wanted to know the expire date on my visa. he said he was calling from Visas head office. He wouldnt tell me what visa I had, he just wanted my expire date. I told him I wasnt telling him any info until he told me what bank my visa was with and started rhyming off different banks. I got the phone number told him I was reporting him and he hung up.. he had a strong accent. reported him to phone busters!!

Just had the call myself, they said they were calling from VISA, had my name and my address, I didn't let him get past that point. I told him I knew he was a fraud and to have a nice day!
I had a call very similar a few weeks ago saying they were from Bell and giving away free cell phones, all you had to do was provide them with your address. I told them if they were from Bell and knew that I was a customer they would have that on file and I don't provide my personal information over the telephone.
Both times I got hung up on, the scary thing is there are people out there that fall for these things.
Have reported both to phone busters

I have received at least half a dozen calls from people purporting to be calling from Visa or Mastercard. They mumble, have heavy accents and are deliberately vague about which cards they are calling about. When I ask which issuing bank they are talking about, they hang up.
Incredibly, I got 2 calls in a row this morning, one purporting to be from a Capital One Mastercard (I don’t have one) and another one 2 minutes later purporting to be from Visa – they used my name and address, which I’m sure they picked up from the telephone book.
These are clearly phishing scams trying to get info that they can use for fraud or identity theft. Hang up, block the number if you are able, and report to the authorities.

They called @ 8:20 am Ontario time and we just let it ring. Very odd time for a call and the caller ID was very strange that we didn't bother answering. They didn't leave a message either. The number was: 1-972-607-4047 and the caller ID said: V03080820330003

There is no need to be NICE to these people, they're criminals. I actually started to talk with a P*** accent back to him and mock him a bit. Further info on this number is that it's based in IRVING, TEXAS and he was calling me in Ontario, Canada. At least he wasn't a "redneck p***" That would have been funny to listen to. I contacted TD VISA to report the incident and they said "they would never ever ask for your CVV # over the phone." They already have it anyway on file, they issued you the card.
DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFO OVER THE PHONE, DO NOT DO SURVEYS, DO NOT LET DEBT COLLECTORS BULLY YOU.
Strange area codes calling you is the first tip off, next listen to their voice and background, try and stump them and see how quick they are. Really, oh where is your office located, what city? the address? DO NOT VOLUNTEER ANY PERSONAL INFO.

SCAM, SCAMMERS This jack***, rude f****ng P*** called me trying to get me to give up my VISA PIN number or CVV code on the back of my card. I had a brand new one and hadn't actually even activated it yet, so I knew something was up. I've had identity theft before so my guard was certainly up. He asked me to give him the 1-800 # on the back of the card, which I did, then he tried to ask me for my CVV which I told him I wasn't giving him. He tried quoting me the TD Head Office address stating that he worked there....blah blah... which is posted online, anybody could find that. He threatened to cancel my card. I laughed and said go ahead buddy, it's not even valid yet! He was persistent until I told him to f****ff and I look forward to finding his fraudulent a***s office and that I was going to kick the s*** out of him if I find it and send him back to his homeland..then he hung up. Go figure.

Just received a call from this number, told them to remove me from their call list and the caller said they didn't understand, I asked to speak to their supervisor until they hung up on me. It was one of those lower interest rates on your credit cards to prime or some kind of scheme.
