At least 1 call per week day from this number. Never a message.

It Is from a Collection Agency Named ARS which when they say it sounds like IRS

I get a call from this number everyday. I think it is a collection agency, a woman that owned my number before me has several collection agencies calling for her. I think I have told them before to stop, and the number did stop calling. But they are at it again. Jesus people I know were in hard times now, but don't have your collectors harassing innocent people.

Most of these debt collector pukes don't know what the law says...... Don't trust them. Make them prove its a debt. If it's not yours you can send them a seis and desist letter and they have to stop calling by law....

I received a call from this number, (972) 607-9743 at 4:25PM CST. It showed up on my Caller ID as Texas Call. I answered the phone and then they hung up. Looking back at the comments by others, I do not know what Asset Acceptance is AT ALL so I dunno.

Capital One and these collection agencies have been abusing and taking advantage of American's since before 1800.  Look up the Shay's Rebellion and see that even back then they were heartless b*****ds and the government was there to support them as the muscle backing them.  The court systems still do the same thing.  Hey President Obama, how about a little help for the average Americans?  Another several billion to GMAC?  How f'd up is this country? I can only hope for the worst for the creditors like Capital One and every collection agency.

They left a recorded message to call back "Linda" at Capital One at 1-800-955-6600.

i called the 866 number and told them the problem i was having, and they took my number off the list. It was from a ex friend making a call for some service to where a collection agency was trying to track her down. I gave them my home number they were calling and nothing more. they were nice about it and understood, so far, no more calls from the 972 607 9743 number

I've been having the same problem for two months. Anyone know how to stop these calls without giving them my personal information? I don't want to change my phone number if I don't have to. But why should I change my number when these idiots are bugging the wrong person or committing fraud, because I don't owe any money to anybody!

We get the same call at once a week.  I'm afraid to return the call because that could be viewed as establishing a relationship.  I checked my 3 credit reports and nothing is or has been bad or in collections.  At this point, they are just as annoying as a mosquito.  Just know that they are NOT the Internal Revenue Service.

It was muffled but not enough. I clearly distinguished the "A" in her "IRS".

Multiple calls from (972)607-9743. Caller ID shows unknown name. They have called twice a day and would never leave a message.  Finally they left a muffled recorded message to call Kelly Vincent at "IRS" and the number to call was (866)608-0400. Had to listen three times to get the information.  They are listed as Asset Acceptance, a collection agency, at the (866) 608-0400 number.  The ARS sounds like IRS. Do note the IRS sends their requests by snail mail and doesn't call unless you are in contact with them already.

"Hello, the following is a message from ARS, we need to speak to you about a private business matter as soon as possible. Please call and ask to speak to Kelly Vincent at 1-866-608-0400.  Again, please call and ask to speak to Kelly Vincent at 1-866-608-0400.  We need to be able to discuss this matter with you right away."

Read about Asset Acceptance's collection methods on other sites.  They use multiple names, phone numbers etc.

I've gotten serveral calls with no messages... then on one call the say we are the IRS and please call back... Well IRS should be sending me mail if there is an issue. This could be a collection agency or I don't know. I really could not hear her clearly so really don't know what she said.
