Call said it was Ford Credit, and to call an 800 number. When called, the 800 number said it was Ford Credit, and asked for account number or SSN. Seemed suspicious to me. Why would Ford Credit call and ask for a call instead of transfer to live contact?

Caller has strong Indian accent.  Left message for a name I never heard of and to return a call to 800 860 5811.  Identified as "Ford Credit."  We have no accounts with Ford Credit and never have.

Keep receiving calls from this phone number on my BRAND NEW pay-as-you-go cell phone.  Only two people know my new number. I did get one voice message saying it was from Ford Credit. I do not and never had any business with that entity.  I am not calling back.

just got a call from this number.  they left a message that consisted of 5 numbers and that was all.  surprised to find this site and numerous mentions of this number.  hopefully, i'll be at one and done since i don't own a ford...  love  the idea of either blocking them on-line or setting ring to No Ring.

The following describes how to block an incoming phone number on a Verizon Wireless cell phone. There is no charge to do this and it can be done on the Internet. It is likely that other wireless phone services offer a similar customer feature.

Go to 'My Verizon' web site and log onto your account. If you have a group plan with multiple phone numbers, use the Primary Account cell number for log on access.

Select the tab labeled 'My Services'. On the left side select 'Verizon Safeguards'. Now select 'Spam Controls'.

Under the 'Call & Message Blocking' tab, in the window containing 'Block Detail for:', enter your own cell phone number that wants to have the incoming call blocked from.

Below this is where you enter the calling number to be blocked. You can enter up to (5) individual numbers for each cell phone in your group plan.

Click on the 'Apply' button. Typically the number will be blocked within (24) hours and blocking will remain in effect for (90) days thereafter. Return here and remove and or re-apply the block as required.

It took a while to get to this process. It does work and I no see any indication of calls from 972-621-2650. My log records indicate(58)calls between Dec.29th to Feb 4th. I am still firm in my decision never to buy a Ford product again.

These nuisance calls continue having stopped momentarily Jan 21 and starting up again yesterday on the Jan 29. They average 2-3 a day sometimes leaving canned voice mails requesting a call back to their 800 number.

Having them in my phone contact list with a recognizable (unprintable) name and no ringer assigned (described in my 31 Dec post) allows me to pretty much ignore them.

Ford Motor Credit is listed as a subsidiary of Ford Motor Company. I will be contacting Ford Motor Company directly to register a complaint, and frankly expect no satisfaction from them based upon the known widespread harassment tactics of their credit company.

I will get pleasure notifying them that I am no longer a Ford customer!
I am sharing this with friends and colleagues across the country urging them to do the same.

good to know it's ford credit.  I do have a ford, maybe cuz I'm not paying my bills on time.  Thanks - for a bit there I thought it was my ex girlfriend.  White trash from SL, UT.

Update from my 31 Dec entry. Incredible these(unmentionable)have called me twice a day every day since their first contact. I verified my number is listed in the National 'Do not call' list and I have just filed a complaint with them. Their site is : https://www.donotcall.gov/default.aspx. The Ford Motor Credit where these calls originate is listed as owned by Ford motor Company. I won't be visiting a Ford dealership to purchase their products soon if ever. And I do own two relatively new Ford automobiles.

Same bull as recent comments listed here. The caller ID was 972-621-2650 on an early AM call asking for someone unknown. Later that day another caller from here asking how long I had this number. Told them to stop calling and bothering me.

At that point I Googled the number and saw the history associated with this firm. I checked my cell phone features to see if I could block this number. No such capability. As an alternate, I added their number to my contact list labeling it with a descriptive name which I am too polite to list here. I also set the ring tone to 'No ring'.

I am still getting calls from them however do not have to waste time when they call.

Received at least 7 calls from this number.  Caller claims to be Ford Credit. The Caller ID comes through as just Texas.  I've informed them 3 times that the person they are asking for does not reside at this number and asked them to take us off their call list.  Although the callers are not as rude as the typical solicitious/collection caller, they obviously have no intention of honoring the request to stop calling (as if we are going to mysteriously produce the person they want).  I've blocked the previous number they were calling from, but they just use another number to call.

Lady called me asked for woman i didn't know. Had just activated this line, did not know # yet, had not given it to a single friend or family member, said she would continue calling if i could not verify phone #. I hope this is not going to be a habit.

got 2 calls one at 9am the other at 5pm 1st woman asked for a man i never heard of before and kept on insisting he lived here. i told the lady no one here by that name and to take my number off their list and not call back. well at 5pm they called again but different lady asking for the same man. i said you already called this morning and she said it was automated i said no i talked to a woman and she said it would be stopped. then she asked if the same guy lived here i said no never heard of him before. then she said they talked with this man in october at this number and i said no way i had this number for almost 2 years you could not have. then she said maybe it was a glitch when we made the call in october. i repeated get my number off and quit calling or i would turn them in. she said that it takes up to 24 hours to stop it. well we shall see.

I have received the same call but no one ever leaves a message. I never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize.
