A very nice person called and said they are with the Texas State Trooper's association. I persisted to tell them to send anything they want in writing and the man said he'd get in trouble for not getting a donation. Uh... sorry... send me something in the mail. Someone called me from this number at my business and simply said "Why would I ask for the person in charge if I wanted to talk to somebody else... Why?"
It sounded like a high school who was trying to read his first poem aloud with inflection and some feeling.
Strange...

I use to be in law enforcement in Texas.  Texas State Troopers Association is a scam as far as I am concerned. We never had anybody like this calling for donations for any law enforcement officer/officers.  DO NOT DONATE to them.

I called this number back, and it went to a recorded message stating that it was the Texas State Troopers Asscociation. I am in Texas. I do not donate to this organiztion. I know for a fact that the money does not go to the law enforcement agency.

The caller did not respond when I answered my phone.  I called the number back, and got a recorded message.  It was The Texas State Troupers' Association, which is one of the most persistent telemarketers, and this group keeps a huge share of the money that it raises.  It is a telemarketing business.  If you want to give to the troopers, go to the DPS local office, and ask a trouper who to contact to make a direct contribution.  That way, these annoying telemarketers, who keep a huge portion of the money they raise, wont be encouraged.
