A few days ago, about 9 PM, I got a phone call, which said Broadview Security.  I have Broadview so I thought it might be a problem.  No voice, it hung up.  Tonight, it called 3 times in a row, and hung up as soon as I said,"Hello."
I think I am in some sort of techno-hell.  I want them to quit calling, or doing automatic dialing.  I have used them for years but it that does not stop, I'll find another securty company.

I have my cell phone blocked for solicitor calls but hanging out in the Bahamas and the international cell phone companies do not block solicitors for some reason.  So this lovely caller who has called me several times, just cost me $6 for an international acceptance calls and no one is on the other line.

While we were away this summer, there were about a dozen calls from this number on our answering machine (no message). We don't have a Brink's system (or any--just a killer dog and a housesitter), and have owned our home for 30+ years. I wish they'd stop calling.

Most people think it's a marketing ploy, but when I talked with one of their Customer Care people they explained that most times when calls like this are made in error it's not an error at all; instead, they've been listed on someone's account as an emergency contact and just don't know it.  It makes sense, I suppose.

Brinks called me from that number because my Brinks (now Broadview Security) alarm actually did go off. This was the number they we're trying to contact me from.

Received a call from 972-871-3500 @5;51pm on Christmas evening, 2009.
Did not pick up.  Googled, found this site, checked my voicemail,it
was an alarm at my neighbor's house across the street.  They put us down as secondary alert number and didn't tell us.

Got a call from them and it was OK.  Our motion alarm went off and we were not at home.  Police was sent, everything was fine.  Glad to have them as our security provider.

They called my cell phone and did not leave a message.  I too am a recent first time home buyer.  However, I highly doubt that my home inspector sold my information considering he is a one man operation and a friend of our realtor's (and ours).  More likely that they obtain information through somet iype of public records.

Incidentally, I'd never use Brinks or any other company that uses methods like these to drum up new business.

I got a call and they hung up and left no message.  I have just bought a house and on the day of my inspection someone had organized Brinks inspection of the property. I was told its a free service that Brinks provide.  Nepotism is alive and well in the real estate business.

yeah i got the call too this mornining on my cell. I looked it up on google, it was brinks home security system,i was pissed off. I read one of the responses that someone may have your number as a contact person. I  don't have a house but my sister does i called her and asked if she had Brinks home security system and if she had me as a secondary contact and she said yes. She was not at home, so i told her to call home and check if everything is okay. I was about to curse out and blast Brinks on this website  and probably call my lawyer too,I'm on the donot call list. Thank God i actually read the responses first.

I got called from this number several times before they left a message.  It is Brinks Home security and they claim that they are partnering with my home inspection company.  I am a recent home buyer and my inspector warned me about this.  Our inspection company didn't sell our name, but they do have to give this info to the county, and they WILL sell your name and #.

This is Brinks.  They are not trying to sell you anything.  Either your alarm is going off or someone has put in your number as a secondary contact.  If you don't know anyone with Brinks or anyone who has used you as a contact, it is possible that your number was put as a contact before the number became yours and it has not been updated.  Go ahead, answer the call.  It could save someones house from getting pillaged.

I just set off my alarm by accident. About 10 mins later I hear my phone ringing upstairs that I didn't rush to answer. Later I looked and I had a missed call from 972-871-3500.  (As I was typing this the doorbell rang. I was the police).

They've called me before and just called me again. I just bought a new house and they somehow got the number from the home inspection company that I used. They partner up together, but I didn't give anyone permission to give my number out to them!

I haven't called back, but I think they buy cell phone numbers from our providers. It seems that their twisted marketing strategy is to crank call cell phone numbers. The recipient feels curious about this strange number, calls them back, then they try to sell you a home alarm package. They are a big corporation and there's nothing we can do about it.
