I had to change our number after a credit company kept calling and asking for a "Jose" right after we were assigned our phone #, I assumed that the person they were looking for was the previous person who had our phone number so I called our phone company and asked for a new #. Now today I started getting calls from THIS number, when I answered they said something I didn't understand and then they hung up. We don't even have a Capital One card!

Not always a debt collector. I do not have an account with them. They are also trying to get folks to buy more "stuff" and use their cards.

Cap 1 has been paid and still get calls.  I have caller ID and do not answer numbers that I don't reconize.

I programmed all the phone numbers they call from into my contacts and then downloaded a SILENT ringtone and assigned it to their contact only....that way when they call my phone doesn't ring, but I can leave my ringer on for other calls.  My company closed in January and I have been unemployed since, I have still managed to pay all of my bills, but only am able to make the minimum payment, so once they add their finance charge each month, it causes me to exceed my credit limit and just keeps building, so they keep calling....not looking good, because until I get a job, I will only be able to make the min. payment.  Bottom Line credit is bad!!!!

Good old Cap One. So many numbers so little time. I have 15 different numbers programmed into my cell to know not to pick up. Upside, they did take Easter Sunday off, I forgot how wonderful it was not to be harrassed for a day.

This is one of many numbers from which Capital One calls. Just an FYI, calling everyday until until a debt is paid or multiple times per day as they often is is in fact a violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and if you let them know that they generally let up.

I get about a dozen calls a day starting around 6:00am and past 8:00pm; including Saturdays and Sundays.  No message is ever left and the calls come from more numbers than I can keep track of.  Because they only number they have for me is my work number, they've even had the audacity to call my parents asking for my home number, which they won't give out.  This is harassment - and they wonder why no one picks up when they call.

I like the others get called several times per day from different numbers as well. Never answer but I do get left a voicemail and like some other people here I fell behind due to decrease in available hours at work.

So, yet another Capital One phone number. Called here on an otherwise pleasant sunday afternoon. Don't they ever take a weekend off? hah.

973-208-1038, got a call from them tonight 8:39pm, no message left on my "voice mail". I know it's Capital One, they call me from about 15-20 other numbers about 2-4 times a day, every day. I never answer (cell phone).
I called a Bankruptcy Attorney today and she advised me to
1: change my phone number
2: move
3: put some distance(6 mos. to a years time) between my most current charge and filing BK because the courts could see it as Fraud. (they will see it as you knew you couldn't pay)
I think, what about the Fraud the CC companies are committing?

if you live in florida sue them, get one of those fair debt lawyers and sue them

they use over 20 other numbers now as well

No Message left for me. I'm seeing from the previous post that it is Capital One but I would think CapOne would be responsible enough to atleast leave an automated message. Im gonna go with the post above mine and say that it is a scammer doing this.

They say they are Capitol One but they are NOT. I've been called by the real Capitol One before and they NEVER ask for my card# because the already know it.
Now these people are calling my Mom and she doesn't even have a Capitol One card.
As a rule, you should NEVER give personal info to anyone that calls you. Better yet, if you don't recognize the number, DON'T ANSWER! Make them leave a message.

yep Capital One call me 8-9 times a day and each time its another number they call from.im out of work now and have more things then them.my house and kids come first.
