This is a legit company, Industry Today. They are a magazine publishing company.

They publish articles on many big and prestigious companies all over the world.
If they are calling, it is because of a customer's request.  I can attest to this, as we are contacted by them every now and again for articles. (ie: Volkswagen, BMW, Ford)

The first few times, I was being cautious and verified this Renata Ginter, not knowing who she is.
From my investigating, she has been at this company for a long time and is an executive there.  She works directly with these big companies.
When she calls, she requests the president or the VP by name, not by questioning who is in those positions.

This is NOT a telemarketing scheme as many as you have complained.  They are calling because they were given your company's name, phone and contact by one of your big customers.

Let's get real and complain about the actual telemarketers trying to sell you cheaper insurance or whatever else they are trying to hock on our companies!!

Sorry but you are an idiot.
No one wants to be called constantly for any reason.
Remember no means no.
We hire people to screen our calls so we can conduct our business with out being bombarded by unethical sales people like you.

I know Empire, they are a home improvement company. how can having a computer make you this inaccurate? anyone with rudimentary skills would see that those two companies are not even remotely similar. in many cases its not what ppl dont know thats the problem, its what they think perhaps "well meaningly" that they know, just saying, look at your links.

that is a sensible tactic, in my role i must reach people like yourself, the prime reason I DO NOt leave a mssg many times is because in many cases there are already quite a few mssgs already in the queue in front of mine, who wants to be the 20th mssg? and I am not after anyones budget. however ppl to assume you want money, thats the root of the problem.

it is clear that you know very little about sales, particularly high level discussions ,and the drive for results. many times underlings and assistants attempt to make decisions and call shots that are not theirs to make in a misguided attempt at efficiency. the only way to defeat these tactics is to call again and again. there is a BIG difference between this and telemarketing...

Listening to Brutus the boob makes me want to rip out my phone again. I didn't have a phone for years (I'm not joking), & did all my business by email. I don't think my phone will make it through 2014. Everything old is new again.

I am nearly  impossible to reach *because* I've been forced into the position of never answering the phone unless it's a recognizable name/number showing on ID.  For instance UNAVAILABLE, OUT OF AREA, GENERAL, etc. are not calls I will answer nor will I answer calls from unfamiliar area codes nor from familiar numbers such as 000-000-0000.  If I have time I may use reverse look up to identify the caller and I will call back if it's important enough to me.  When someone reaches voice mail , leaves a message about the purpose of the call, includes a callback number and if it's someone I want to talk to (not another mortgage refi or foreigner asking for someone who does not nor has ever lived or worked here) I  will call them back.  It's that simple.   If it's not important enough for caller  to leave a message it's not an important call.  Perhaps the caller has simply miss-dialed.

Why would this company be using call centers / telemarketing? Odd that the predatory cowards who call try to disguise themselves as professionals and business ethics what's that? Global print and online publications? Is that similar to copy and paste? http://www.linkedin.com/company/industry-today-media Is it part of this call center network? http://www.bbb.org/chicago/business-reviews/c ... rthlake-il-4547#

The difference between sales calls and telemarketing is that telemarketing calls are unsolicited.
If people had your dysfunctional views no one would ever get anything done at work because of the telemarketing calls.

perhaps it is you, who do not know the difference between sales and telemarketing? because there is a BIG difference. Suppose the moron that answered the phone when your boss the owner called a company had your dysfunctional views? it is people like yourself that cause many problems that are easily avoided.

Yes, of corse it is a sales pitch, if it weren't for sales pitches we would all be naked and walking and hungry. sales are what move the world. so don't act like sales are unnecessary.

No, it's only important for the scofflaw telemarketers who won't stop calling, even when told to stop, numerous times.  You should try not calling sometime.

HAVE BEEN RECEIVING CALLS FOR THE PAST FEW DAYS ASKING FOR THE OWNER, FROM A "RENATA GINTER - 973-218-0310", MENTIONED IT WAS A PROJECT.  HOW DO I GET TELEMARKETERS TO STOP CALLING A BUSINESS, IT SEEMS LIKE A WASTE OF MY TIME TO BE ANSWERING THESE CALLS ALL THE TIME...

I also received a call from "Renata" today for my boss.  She pretty good....mentioned a project with an automotive manufacturer, thinking that I would automatically put her through.  I wasn't born yesterday!  I have caller ID......so the next time she calls I will be prepared.  I am sure my boss will be out of the office....lol.

Received call today, "Renata" left me voice mail saying our company's main customer's President and chief marketing officer wanted her to call me.  It's a scam, a pitch, don't bother.
